Dude, love your videos for years for now...but You not looking at the camera makse my adhd go crazzzzzzzyyy... :( I can't be only one having this issue.. :) cheers and greetings from Estonia!
So many fermenters! I still am going strong with a slightly modified RAPT fermentation chamber and a Spike CF10 and it's been great for both heating and cooling, no mess no fuss. The beer is getting popular enough that I may double that setup, but considering swapping that for a Mini Uni 50 and seeing how that works.
What do you see the issue really is with using the bottom port of a mini uni? I was going to look at getting the first gen mini uni since I don’t use glycol which the bottom port would be the only option.
Something like a hop Rocket is usually used hot side. These definitely exist for dry hopping they also exist. If you check my last video I'm using one.
@@PortlyGentleman sorry, but i didn’t see it in your last video. Do you have a link or type of device you are using. Appreciatie your video’s btw. Bought already quite brewtools stuff based on your reviews.
Thank you for the great overview. I own the awesome MiniUni+ 30l and would like to go for a Grainfather GC2 and a Brewtools heater. Are they in any way compatible? I would love to control the heat with the same setup. Or are you aware of any other solutions on the market also using the MiniUni and the GC2?
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with that model not yet anyways. You definitely might want to reach out to them and see what their measurements are. Thank you, by the way 🍻🍻
No the grainfather heating is 12V similar to SS Brewtech also 12V a much safer voltage in my opinion. To be able to use the gc2 you need the grainfather gca kit and wire a relay on the heating output since the brewtools element is either 110V or 230V. Or you use a non grainfather controller and wire the cooling port to a relay if it is not 12V. I have the GC4 chiller so I am building the same setup as you.
@@andrevangijsel957 thanks for your valuable input! I might try to use the heating pad included in the GCA kit on the cone of the mini but I hate that the neoprene jacket is already very hard to put onto the mini. This might even make it harder.
Safer Maybe seemingly at first to the uninitiated. The higher voltage may seem dangerous but realistically I'm plugged into a GFCI breaker. So no real risk if something catastrophic and extremely unlikely happens.
Always appreciate your friendly, informative, videos presented with a sense of humor and levity! Thank you and keep up the great work you do!!
Thank you 💯

@@AareLaanmets 💯 It's super hard not to watch the monitor hella paranoid about being out of focus.
I do love that prototype though, another great informative video mate. Cheers 🍻🦘👍.
Thank you very much 💯🍻🍻

I love that you're able to make your own set up work so well for you 🍻🍻
I really like the higher level of control and if I'm fermenting with kveik it's almost a necessity
Absolutely it is 🍻
Interesting video, thanks!
My pleasure 🍻
Very good thank you :)

Hi, i know it is not related to this topic, but do know a hop rocket for dry hopping homebrew size? To my knowledge it does not exist at the moment.

the ads on this video were wayyy too frequent
I'm sorry about that. TH-cam has been getting aggressive. I've noticed it especially lately
@@PortlyGentleman great video though. Thank you!
