Gotta protect our investments, I'm sure I'm going overkill with a few things but meh it makes me happy to know I'm looking after it. Thanks man, stay warm out there!!!
Great video Jack. Maybe try an aluminum scoop shovel like I use to scrap your ashes into from the reaction chamber. That will help keep that nice cement pad clean!
I'm sure I'll get lazy once I fully figure out what I can and can't get away with. Definitely want to try and keep up with things that will make her last though. Thanks 💪
Hey Jack. You did a great job cleaning the 760. Very important maintenance for keeping the boiler efficient and detection of early problems. Will you clean it after 1 cord burn from now on?
@@OpenAirAdventureFirewood so every 2 weeks the heat exchanger in the back should be cleaned out, is that overkill, yeah probably if it's just fly ash build up, but for what it takes to go back there and clean it I'm okay with 20min of maintenance to keep this thing rocking and a rolling
Wow. F that 😂. Had no idea gasification units required so much maintenance. I clean mine out twice or three times a year. I started burning Oct 31st and haven't cleaned it out yet. Maybe this week?? Maybe not. Certainly your extra efforts will contribute to the longevity of the unit, but for those reasons, I'm out. I shall never buy a gasification unit! 😂. I wonder what the real world efficiency trade off is between one like your vs one like mine? Amazing 1 cord is one little barrel of ash. Thanks for the education!
It's really not that hard at all, every 2 or 3 days pull ash from reaction chamber, every 2 or 3 weeks clean the heat exchanger. Way better than getting up every 2-3 hours to feed that stove we had in the basement. Our house has never been this consistently warm in the winter and omg, the hot water is 🔥🔥 I'd have gone 6048 if I didn't care about smoking out the neighbors or if i had none to care about🤷♂️
Good work but you best lock your crocks in 4 wheel drive that way when Miss Log Cabin catches you cleaning your turbulators on her nice concrete floor you can run fast 😂😂
Are you going to put a roof over the boiler area? Do you ever get snow because it seems like the cleaning would suck if you had to get knee deep in it.
I realize you were doing the video, but I would highly suggest using a respirator with great cartridges to catch all of the ash dust so you're not inhaling it, your beard and face got darker in the video.
I would check out a ash vacuum if I were you. With a beard those paper masks would be better than nothing. I would look into something though Jack. That fine ash cannot be to good for a mans health. Lowes has the Cleveland Iron Works Ash Vacuum Cleaner, holds 6.5 gallons of ash.
Yup, you're right! I've considered an ash vacuum, but ill just use the shop vac at the end of the season when I have to do a major cleaning before we shut her down for the off season.
Good "how I do it" video 👍 Great step by step demonstrations. Thank you for sharing 😊
There's only a few videos on cleaning these on the tube, so figured I'd give mine a go, thanks Lyle
@@LogCabinFirewood you knocked it out of the park 👍
@@lyleharkness-rv5vf You're too kind bro, thanks a bunch 🙏
The boiler should definitely run efficient taking care of it like you do!👍👍

All clean Back to producing Free Heat
Yeppers, I'm sure what I'm doing is overkill, but i want to keep this thing running perfectly for many years to come!!!
Great video Jack. Maybe try an aluminum scoop shovel like I use to scrap your ashes into from the reaction chamber. That will help keep that nice cement pad clean!
I actually have one but never thought to get it out of the shed 🤣 I'll give that a go tomorrow!!!! Thanks a bunch 🍻🍻
@@LogCabinFirewood haha! Nice
Great job explaining how to keep boiler clean and working properly!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks man!!! 🍻cheers
hi there 20 min to clean .not bad , nice show , best to all john
Yeah not bad at all. There's more i could do inside the firebox, but ill have to cover that on another video.thanks John
Jack, like you said just stay on top of the cleaning of your boiler and there shouldn’t be any issues later on 😮😊❤
Fingers crossed, time will tell✌️
Nice one Jack! Gotta take care of that rig! Looks like you are off to a great start! - Tim

All clean ready to burn some green wood! I don’t need cardboard for my knees I’m use to it! 🤣
Green seems to be the meal ticket right now
Very informative! You better get Taryn’s stamped concrete blown off before she gets home 🤣
She's not running out there when it's raining or windy and cold 🤣 Ill make a mess if I want🤷♂️

@LogCabinFirewood yes definitely. A little goes a long way in this case.

Well her concrete will be the rest of the driveway and the padio, so ill can keep this one dirty 🤣

Your question is actually answered in next Saturdays video!!!!, I agree knee deep would suck cleaning in snow
Compared to a regular boiler your unit burns much more efficiently. Looks like you could use a mask along with the gloves. Stay safe.
Yup mask would be a good idea too
Hey brother…do you have to let the fire go completely out before you can clean it ?
Nope it still had its fire inside, once you light these you want them to run the entire season on one match. ✌️
@ that’s what I thought you said to me before. Thanks man
I thought Turbulator was an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie?
@@buildlife ha!! Now I'm sitting here trying to say turbulator in his accent. Need more coffee 🍻🍻
