@ZeniusFox exactly which I see why Simmons was fighting to kick shenmue off the top 10 list. Shenmue feels like a top 20 or 30 game for the Dreamcast not top 10.
Shenmue did start slow, but I think it was about an hour or so in you get to do so much stuff around the city, and the fighting system was heavily based on Vitrua Fighter. The further in the game you went the more skills and combos you unlocked but that's if you prioritized training during the day over going to the arcade or trying to continue the story. The fights start as a 1v1 and the final battle is like a 15 min survival mode. While played out now, the QTE's kept you on your toes and they were not all a succeed or game over. Blue stinger and sonic adventures is my favorite
The long list sorely missing Bangai-O, and probably Dynamite Cop, Undercover Mission and ChuChu Rocket! Its a shame VF3 TB gets downplayed as besides it not living up to Soul Calibur visually its still a fantastic fighter.
Bro Third Strike on the Dreamcast is the best version. It's technically a patched version and has more options with the System Directions, so much fun. I don't understand arcade purisist, if it were released today, it would of had numerous patches like recent games.
2 games were on the list because of if vibes. One being the reasons its on there snd the was removed because thats all it had
Sat here, screaming for 20mins to get rid of NFL for top 10 while the doods are running through the list and FINALLY they hear me!! 😅
AND they still dont get rid of it FML!!!
How do you go from saying NFL should be off the list to making it 7!!!!
Sonic Adventure 2 will always be my top 10 Dreamcast games.
Also no Dynamite Cop!?
At least, Two of my favourites got top 10 in Virtua Tennis and Crazy Taxi. I love Sonic Adventure 1 so I would of put that first on my list and Jet Set not being on top 10 tho :(
Virtual Fighter 3 and Virtual On should be on this list.
best version of MDK 2 is on DC and NOBODY CARES but me.
My list
Toy commander
Sonic adventure
Dynimite cop
Mvc2
Power stone
Marvel vs Capcom
Capcom vs snk
Calcom vs snk 2
Tony hawk 2
Sega swirl
House of the dead 2
Also: does anybody remember Star Lancer? Fantastic squad based star fighter game; never gets mentioned =/
It's was more fun playing basketball and football my self so Sports games are off the list for me
Nah basketball games are fun cuz thr franchise modes
Soul Reaver on DC is MILES ahead of the PSX version. It's not even a comparison.
No it's not... And they literally reviewed the same lol
@@elephantsarecool7 Go play the PSX version, and then the DC version and tell me they're the same.
@@moogleboy I have... The DC version is slightly better. Not miles ahead like you said. Though, I will admit, I do prefer the PSX controller so that might be influencing my opinion a bit lol
@@elephantsarecool7 It has higher resolution textures, it's locked to 60 fps compared to the PSX version being 30 fps, higher bitrate audio, uncompressed FMVs... Nah man, you've got some glasses on. It's like comparing VHS to DVD.
@moogleboy So it's visually better... the least important part of a game. Again, not miles ahead better lol
I think Headhunter should have been on the list - that was a fucking class game 🎮👍🏻
Ferrari F355 Challenge on the Dreamcast is the greatest game of all time.
Tony Hawk 2 is the second highest rated game on the Dreamcast on Metacritic. #1 is Soul Calibur.
Putting virtual tennis over cvs 2 is WILLLDDDDDDDDD I was alive back then to max and no one was like hey I wanna play virtua tennis they played that at the kiosks at Wal Mart and that's where it ended . Simmons was spot on with his marvel vs Capcom 2 it was only and barley popular in arcades . It wasn't revolutionary at all lol . There was a lot of bias in this regardless of what y'all said . if cvs 2 isn't a top ten neither is MvC2 sorry not sorry . Virtua tennis ??????
Me my cousins, nephews and nieces would play Virtua Tennis during family parties. That game rocks, it one of the easiest to pick up and best sports games ever!
The nostalgia is sta-rong in the opening 8 minutes 😂
Shenmue da best
Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 is in my top 10 for sure.
Test Drive Le Mans should also be very close to this list
The fact that you could actually play it for a full 24 hours! Absolutely nuts!!
Kenny with the NFL lies. The NFL gave EA the licenses in part because 2k dropped the prices to $20 because of the lack of success competing with madden upto that point. Those other licenses game franchise like Fever, QB Club, etc werent in a good place either. Madden was already far ahead of football games and was putting out the best sim sports product in the mid 2000s. Its revisionist history
No record of Lodoss war? But space channel like cmon
12 minutes in without MVC1 is painful.
Left off because it was on Saturn with a near perfect port. Similar story to Tony Hawk and Resident Evil 2 here.
7:55 had to pause and add READY 2 RUMBLE!!!
The Saturn didn’t prove shit. But I also agree that sonic adventure 2 is available on better consoles
The fuck Simmons, it took you that long to think of Grandia 2? One of the best JRPG up there with Skies of Arcadia lol
Can we do this for saturn
Ready rumble rd 2 deserves to be on there.
Power stone 2, house of the dead 2 and time crisis for sure!
Justice for code veronica
