Hi Donal I'm in Sydney Australia and it's currently midnight here and i love watching your vids. I made your tomato soup the other day and my family loved it so I'll be picking up some mirin tomorrow as I'm making your cheats chicken ramen for dinner but was wondering if you have a fool proof lemon or butterscotch self saucing pudding recipe???? The recipe's I've tried to date haven't come out quite right and I followed the recipe's to a T, it's frustrating because my husband doesn't eat chocolate and I refuse to buy the ready mix packs Can you help ?
Donal Skehan I would really like to see you cook some unusual game birds even though we either can’t get them or are rather difficult and expensive to get here in Australia. I would still like to see you cook some interesting foul.
I think the thing that I appreciate about your food the most is the simplicity. Good food made well, but simply and unfussy. Fits my style perfectly. Thanks for another great idea, Donal!!
Love the recipe and technique. I am embarking on a journey to move from the ramen one gets at the grocery store to making my own while also sharing with a friend who is like me; I love it but I've never had it like this. I have done several searches for DIY ramen and your video wins my vote for stepping out for the first time, with confidence. Nicely done and thank you.
Looks amazing man! Couldn't take my eyes off you during the execution of this delicious looking Japanese Ramen Soup. Definitely going to make this one. Thank you!
@@RudraDirtTrails I'm interested. Why isn't this recipe considered 'Japanese Ramen'? Sure, some more traditional recipes put more effort into making the broth. But it seems to have the essence of what Ramen is; the Noodles, the Broth/Stock and the Toppings. I guess he is missing the Aroma oil and the Tare but that could easily be accomplished by adding some sesame oil into the broth and using Teriyaki sauce or Miso Paste for additional flavouring.
@@seath46 I never said it cannot be called a ramen. But according to me it's just another European noodle dish with broth and veggies. To me, a ramen should be having 4 parts. Those are 1. An aroma oil, for the aroma of course 2. Tare, for the taste 3. Broth, should be super umami from slow cooked meat or other stuff 4. And noodles This dish doesn't carry the intense aroma nor it has that super umami that I want. Rather this dish has way too much veggies and gives a different vibe to me.
@@seath46 my opinion is totally subjective. I'll suggest you to watch a few videos of the channel "the way of ramen". Also there's a channel called "My name is andong" who collaborated with "the way of ramen" to talk about how much we can change ramen and still can call it ramen I'll find the link for the video if you want

I just made this ramen and it turned out lovely. Super pleased with the outcome. The only thing I messed up was the eggs, which were unfortunately hard, but it didn't spoil it. Thank you for this recipe x
Hi Donal, I LOVE this recipe. Your ramen is not only colourfull, I know some ingredients are crispy (I mean not overcooked), the smell must be divine. It's packed with protein and vitamins. Thank you so much. If you have any other recipes for ramen (vegetarian or with other type of meat) or other soups, I would to see watch them as well.
Hi, just wanted to let you know that I cooked ramen noodle soup for the first time using your recipe. My family loved it. Thank you for this easy and tasty recipe.
Hi , sorry but it was the latest comment. I'm a beginner at cooking and I don't know how to make a chicken broth or soup that is used for ramen. I looked up on TH-cam and they say like 3h + of preparation for it... Can you help me?
@@alexanderscaccia463Hi, I don't know what country you're writing in from, but in England most if not all supermarkets sell chicken stock. They come in 3 variations (as far as I'm aware) 1. Small tightly packed powder cubes, which can be dissolved in water. Know as stock cubes 2. Gelatin pods, which again dissolves in water, and also known as stock. Better quality than the stock cubes (in my opinion). 3. Ready to use chicken stock, usually in the fridge section of the market. This is the one I used and gives the best results for this recipe. Just ask a member of staff at your local supermarket. You can also find these for beef, lamb and vegetable stocks. Hope it helps.

If you rehydrated dried shiitake mushrooms, you could use that mushroom stock instead of store bought chicken stock 😉.
OR! You could make your own chicken stock per The Joy of Cooking cook book, which has a marvelous recipe for home made chicken stock. Just sayin'.
This actually a great tip for me because my local store only has dried shiitake. Gonna use that with a stock cube. Awesome.
Or Porcini good as well.
