Oh, that makes me a bit nauseous. Then again, I EOL'd literally hundreds of those 486 Optiplex machines in the mid 1990's when my employer upgraded to the later series of Optiplex machines. I was unable to keep any, as they had to be destroyed per government regs.

When you put it that way, it sure brings an interesting perspective on my insistence to keep this one alive. The destructive government protocols sure bother me when it comes to these things.

ah good ol' UPS. they seem to love dropkicking your package onto your porch.

i wish there was a option for a local pickup, if you have a car, money for gas, and if your boss would let you take vacation time.

Thanks! It certainly isn't perfect but I'm happy with it. Have you had any luck searching for 3D printed rails?

@@snowfoxcomputing I actually haven’t tried searching for 3D printed rails, but that’s a good idea. Since I have a set of the originals, I have the part numbers and dimensions to reference.

Why didn't you zero the drive before installing Windows 95 (does 95 use fat16 or fat32?)? I had to do this to a drive prior to formatting and installing 98SE so it could use the entire drive. Otherwise, great job!

Perhaps this is why there were problems with seeing the total capacity, but I am not sure. Win95 originally used the FAT16 file system, but in Win95 OSR2, FAT32 support was added. I should probably revisit this install and maybe set up the drive how I prefer to now with partition software on my tech system. Thanks for the support!
