Rest in Peace Matt. Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds, - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there, I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew - And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
It's been 13 years since I first saw this video, and I can't believe it's been that long. When I think of my childhood, this is the first thing I jump to, and it feels like multiple lifetimes since I first saw it with my dad. Thank you for all of the times you've gotten those songs stuck in my head, and more importantly, thank you for making me want to fly planes like those from a young age.
Balleka, this is a fantastic video. The way you have edited the images to fit the music is a masterpiece. Like some previous comments, I can't get enough of it and think it is your best work on here. Congratulations.
Sure, this is just some of the best cargo vids. o YT. Great to see such a joy, even in long haul cargo, I know guys who tried it, but they are all back on short haul now, its not for everybody to do long hauls.
pro2435, that is not something being sprayed over the cargo but the cold air from the air conditioning packs condensing in the warm air on the cargo deck. You can see the same thing on passenger aircraft before the doors are closed where the outside air is warm and the aircraft air conditioning packs are pushing cold air out.
great videos and flying. When you are in South Africa again, how about coming to Potchefstroom to visit the Jonker Sailplanes factory and do some flying in a JS1? It's about 80 minutes drive from Johannesburg.
cloud skimmingReally good mix - pictures and music - thanks for sharing the beauty of creation from the front seat - there's nothing like a 747 cloud skimming - a real thoroughbred! Loved the electric storms - were they in the central African belt or further south?
@jurrien75 I did it on a C-5 once. Scary. Let's just say I didn't go very far from the hatch. The wing is a wide enough that it doesn't bother me to walk out there, though.
@poskyflyer I've been flying regional jets for while, and believe me, the novelty does wear off after some years. I don't know how long the uploader has been flying, but after a while, it does becomes a grind getting through the week of flying the same route over and over and over. Perhaps flying cargo is not as monotonous as it is flying for a regional airline - but anyway, I might have to look into that option.
Rest in Peace Matt.

Still watching in 2017.. 747-100/200 with JT9s are getting really rare nowadays.

Carl Vogt unbelievable! I googled it.. glider crash. RIP Balleka!
The last 747-100 flight was EP-IAM, a 747-186B in 2014. No more commercial 747-100 operators exist.
AAIB still investigating.....

at 2:00 what altitude and speed are those craft flying at, where was that taken? great video!
what is that mist being sprayed over the cargo and why ? robert
Impi rules!
I would never be climbing out of the overhead escape hatch and walk over the fuselage like that.
Just watched this one for maybe the 10th time.. Not the last time I think
indeed.. Walking over wings is like walking the boulevard.. The 747 ovhd hatch is not in the middle....
Congratulation for the video I whatched here in Brasil
wunderschön :)
nice....................................
Wow, THIS IS MY DREAM! BE A PILOT!!! OF A 747 CARGO!!
very good stuff! I love MK Airlines, cu next time in ELLX
I can't seem to find this song on i-tunes. Got a link or the name of the song and band? Thanks.
Great vid! Can anyone tell me which *exactly* live recording of "Impi" plays at the beginning?
What HD camera was used for this video?
Title is Great heart song by JohnnY Cleg
Great video...what camera and editor?
Dude, I really love your videos. Some of the greatest I've ever seen!
Where can I find the version of Impi you've used at the intro?
@jurrien75 Yeah, if you watch the Cloud Surfing video, it seems that these MK guys like to climb out the hatch all the time lol
Can anyone explain, The way to get a 'Freight dog' ??

Okay.... Mach .91?!?!? Is that a true reading from the mach meter or was it "tampered" with?
It's true. I've done similar in 300 series racing curfew.
@Carmelo33 Johnny Clegg, "Great Heart"
The higher you go, the lower mach's value goes.
Mach 912. Hmmmm we got .919 out of a 300 .
mach .91? jesus
Cheers from Argentina... I am a private pilot. You are welcome to fly with me...
