*Supporting Characters: Gladys vs Omar* I wish they'd kept Gladys on the show. Taylor could've used a confidante who wasn't connected to Ridge. Gladys is the perfect "talk to" because she adds a lot of humor and heart to a scene without taking anything away from the lead character. And because Taylor is such a "straight" character, Gladys' camp excess plays well against her and makes Taylor more likable. It's the same trick Disney animated films employ: while kids might find the princess lead dull, they end up rooting for her because wacky side characters like Sebastian and Lumiere are rooting for her. And note how the Taylor & Gladys scenes "pop" in comparison to the deadly dull Ridge & Omar scenes, which have all the energy of a blood pressure group check at a retirement home in the Florida Villages. That's because Kabir Bedi doesn't add _anything_ to the scene -- no wit, no menace -- and Omar is also a "straight" character, and since he's often in scenes with Taylor or Ridge, there's nothing to play off, the scenes are flat. In fact I'd go even further and say Omar is a scene vacuum; he actually makes a scene _less compelling_ simply by being in it.
I stand by my theory that they had to “dumb down” the show to appeal to international audiences, given the popularity overseas. They brought on these for eign actors to make a splash. Same with James and his Scottish accent.
That moment when Thorne and Macy were talking about Anthony's (lack of) grief and Thorne told Macy "if I ever lost you, I'd never get over it" was quite poignant because it felt like foreshadowing. It isn't the first time the show hints at a connection between Ivana's fate and Macy's fate, but it's the first real indication in this storyline that Macy may actually _die._ The other day, we learned that Thorne was facing a possible death sentence, and today it is implied that _both_ Thorne and Macy's lives are in danger.
WHY does Macy think it's okay to go on a trip w/the Dude who just proposed to her in front of her actual Fiance'? WHY is Macy okay asking Thorne if he's alright with her going with Anthony? WHY is Thorne not telling her he'd rather she NOT go with Anthony?🙄🙄 And WHY are folks comforting Anthony as though he &... what's her name had a lengthy relationship??? Ridge wanted to tell Omar more of what he and Brooke were doing in the lab _before_ the explosion but he thought, "I'll let Brooke share that story. She's good with re-enactments."

She's so blind concerning Anthony! Thorne wants to break out of prison...😂🙈
Gosh.. That is a tough one. Macy or Taylor? I'd give the Delusional Trophy to Taylor bc she knows exactly who/what she is dealing with, but still acting contrary to her own best interests when it comes to Ridge, Brooke, Omar, etc. Whereas Macy I would say is more naive. She really doesn't know who she is dealing with in Anthony (and neither does Sally, or Darla for that matter) and honestly thinks she is doing a good for all involved.

*Thorne's redemption* I think what we are seeing now is the perfect redemption arc for Thorne, and it has been a long time coming. Many years ago, he got away with sho oting his own brother, and now finally he gets a taste of what it would have been like to actually pay for that cr ime. And time and time again, he made Macy's life miserable because of his lack of trust in her, and now he is locked up in a cell while she is out there with his biggest rival, and he has no choice but to trust her. I think this is the storyline where Thoren finally grows up (at least temporarily). And he is already showing some growth by telling Macy that he is okay with her going to Mexico with Anthony. The old Thorne, who was controlled entirely by his jealousy, wouldn't have trusted Macy to even be in the same room with Anthony. Her going away to some romantic vacation spot with another man would be Thorne's worst fear come true, and yet this time _he trusts her enough to let her do it_ because he thinks it's what *she* needs. He doesn't like it, but for the first time he cares more about her well-being than his own insecurities. This is a situation that would have caused Thorne to assume the worst and speed dial his divorce attorney a few years go. But this time is clearly different - something fundamental has changed in the Thorne/Macy dynamic. Thorne is no longer jumping to conclusions and seems more confident in Macy's love for him, in spite of the difficult situation. He is standing by his vows to her, and trusts her to do the same.
YES I was thinking that too watching his scenes with Macy, how far he's come and how much he's grown as a character. You could see that he was uncomfortable with the idea of her going to Mexico with Anthony but he kept in check and (most importantly) didn't take it out _on her._ Question: are we supposed to read his internal reaction as Thorne also starting to become suspicious of Anthony or am I over-reading that?
@@NewYorkNick0607 good question - I read it as Thorne not yet suspecting Anthony (not even subconsciously) because if he did, it wouldn't make sense for him to encourage Macy to go. Instead, I read it as him being torn between doing what's best for Macy (letting her go) and doing what's best for himself (keeping Macy away from any potential competition), and showing character growth by choosing Macy's best interests ahead of his own. He is clearly still jealous of Anthony, but he treats it as if it's _his own_ problem rather than Macy's, and ultimately chooses to trust Macy over his own insecurities.
@@annieo6527 That makes sense, thanks! I haven't seen all the beats of this storyline before (I know how it ends) so I'm wondering if at any point Thorne starts to suspect Anthony or if the suspicion is only sparked by Dylan?
@@NewYorkNick0607 it is only sparked by Dylan. That is, in fact, his _only_ plot function in this story - to plant this suspicion in Thorne's mind and then exit the storyline. Which, as I've said before, is the only good reason why this function is filled by a peripheral character like Dylan rather than a character like Connor who would make more sense in the role, but who would be more difficult to dismiss from the storyline once that role is fulfilled. What is it with Anthony and Dylan? Anthony can play and gaslight many people, but when Dylan turns up Anthony always acts like a psycho: 1) when his fiancé had just been killed 2) now, when that trip is because of Macy going through so much stress (her fiance accused of murder and facing jail) - the only reason why Sally agreed to Anthony leaving, when it is the busiest time for the company.

@@MrCraigblazeknife and Gun and Poison will be part of Sheila ( final ) chapter ( with 10 th others ) 😅❤ 🔪
Who is the older woman talking with Taylor at 2:10? She sounds so familiar.
This doesn’t make sense…Thorne’s rotting in jail stressing out and Macy feels the need to get away to relieve stress.😮
Gladys the fairy godmother 😃😆
i like her
All Taylor looks was great 👍
Thorne's hair in prison remains stylish like from a hairdresser, lol.. Moreover suitcases are always empty and can be carried by one single hand!! So pity that noone thinks about these "details".....
Yeah Gladys!
Like Carol Burnett on All my children !! 😂😂
@@MrCraigblaze aka Verla Grubbs!
She’s gonna be Sally’s friends soon if I’m right or she is already ?
@@filionsteve2133 No she's not but it should be coming soon!
A prince who comes to see a civilian like that without any security. Complete nonsense!
🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹 "... We both could use a break! We both need it badly!" Anthony's pun is accurate. Hmm.
Angel Trinidad West Indies.

I guess Dylan is no longer in college, or he goes in his spare time when he isn't running Spectra?
Gladys comparing Taylor's smile, thinking of her date with Ridge, to Gladys smile when she divorced her 5th husband, made me chuckle. But who knows, maybe Glady's on that day then already had had her future 6th husband in mind.
Anthony knows Dylan has seen hard times
Taylor 😍😍😍😍😍
When Dylan arrived, he rang the bell. At the end we have Anthony telling Dylan to lock up for him. Does Dylan have keys for that apartment?
Slash is John Coffee....
Brooke stans are always criticizing Taylor for having too much makeup on but she doesn’t have any more than Macy or any of the others either. Just jealous I suppose.
Guess im odd because I find Omar much more attractive than Ridge. Ridge and Thorn are both too feminine. Unlike Ridge Omar Knows what he wants and is offering Taylor a much better life than she ever could have with Ridge
Yes, you're odd.
Trap in that palace or miror room lollll nah
@@memento-_mori😅😅😅
I would go for Omur. He is a 1 woman man, very rich. Beautyfull country. Princess titel😅. And a very sexy handsome man..Taylor hanging on to loser Rigde😢why??? She is way to good for him. To smart and much to beautyfull. Machochist Taylor😂
I hope you are safe and not being manipulated in your life .That’s my wish for you.
R u kidding ??? That man tortured a woman to marry her !!! That's just sad u made a comment like this.😒😵💫
I like the sound of his voice as well.
Her and Brooke never gave up on ridge for 35 years lol still in the show recently 2023-2024 loo
@@filionsteve2133why I stopped watching. So ridiculous
So nice how Gladys can comment on Taylor's obvious world-class beauty without some annoying brain rot parrot popping up with, "Plastic surgery!" or "Brooke's a natural beauty!" 🦜
I’m here to jinx it 😂 Where are they?
@@Esi-741 It's funny how you conjure them but I rile them up. 😂
@@sharonstewart4882 We all have our roles here 😂
😂😂
I wonder if the 🦜 has something to say about her elegant shoulders.
