Not Taylor reminding Omar they never consummated their marriage 😂 Ouch! Right in the reality there lol. Unfortunately. Just like Brooke, he glosses over that "small detail" and goes on with his fantasy life that he's created in his head with the object of his obsession
And with Ridge, he didn't just gloss over it. He intentionally led Ridge to believe they consummated the marriage (talking about going on a honeymoon which he knew Ridge would interpret that way). Omar is that close ted guy who brags about being with his beard.
@@NewYorkNick0607,🤣 You know what this reminds me of.. That time Brooke said Ridge "broke up" with her, when he was married to Taylor and not even in a relationship with Brooke 😂
They are all awful and guilty of omissions over the years. Ridge failing to mention secret kisses from Brooke while married to Taylor, Taylor failing to tell Ridge about James kissing her in Sweden or wherever they were, Brooke failing to tell Ridge her own mom was involved with Eric, etc....they're all guilty of it.
LOL…Thorne a fugitive now. His parents are still much more involved with James and Sheila and Ridge’s drama. They seem to have forgotten about his predicament.
*Ridge Needs Two Women Fighting Over Him* Ridge being upset with Brooke for keeping the secret and mad at Taylor for marrying Omar is directly connected to his chauvinistic views of women and his need to always be the object/prize in the love triangle. We’ve seen this before. When Ridge was married to Taylor, he insisted that Brooke accept that and move on…but then he became jealous and possessive when she got involved with Connor. Similarly, after making Taylor put up in their marriage with his inappropriate relationship with Brooke he then became self-righteous and indignant about Taylor’s inappropriate relationship with James. And then of course after Taylor’s plane crash he only became interested in Brooke again when she was engaged to James. The pattern is clear. Ridge wants to always be in a love triangle where HE is the object/prize being fought over. Any time one of the women attempts to place themselves in the center of the triangle (Connor/Brooke/Ridge or James/Taylor/Ridge or James/Brooke/Ridge), Ridge lashes out and questions their honesty and integrity. Indeed as a character, Ridge primarily exists as an object for two women to fight over and it doesn’t even have to be romantic - for example it can be Brooke vs Stephanie. This is an example of how the soap genre can be both s exist _and_ feminist (see the “double-voiced text” reference in my Jane Eyre post in episode 1905 ). On one hand, two women are always fighting over a man but on the other hand, the women drive the storyline and we see the show through their eyes. Notice how Ridge plays the married card with both Brooke and Taylor (“You’re supposed to be my wife!”). Ridge wants them to play their assigned roles and wait patiently and suffer nobly while he makes his decision between them (stealing kisses and moments with the two of them along the way of course). That’s what’s really going on here. The idea that Taylor constructed a love triangle with herself at the center and that Brooke tried to dismantle the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor triangle that brought her so much grief over the years is unacceptable to Ridge. He must always be in the center and the sole object of their affection.
Well put! And it is hilarious how he thinks that _both_ women are supposed to act like "his wife", at the same time! Also an interesting point about the "feminist s exist" soap writing with women having all the agency, but focusing that agency on winning a man.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Reminds me of when Ridge had to choose between Caroline and Brooke. He almost seemed to enjoy them fighting over him. I keep saying that they needed to bring Taylor back and have Connor interested in her, instead of Taylor waiting for Ridge. You'd see Ridge and his typical chauvinistic behaviour fighting for Taylor in that scenario, even if he ended up with Brooke.
@@annieo6527 Thanks Annie. The "double voiced text" is a reference from _The Madwoman in the Attic._ Gilbert & Gubar argue that Victorian Literature sometimes hides a feminist message in otherwise conventional stories. And I found that applicable to the soap genre which is often too easily dismissed as just s exist.
@@TriniT21 Exactly Trish. And that's why when Caroline left, Bill Bell elevated Taylor to fill out the triangle. Ridge as a character almost can't exist without two women fighting over him. The character doesn't have a lot of substance or subjectivity: he's a fantasy object and wish-fulfillment.

No family members thinking about Thorne, He gotta break himself out and solve his own dang crime….. just one of the many forgotten Thorne situations….😂😂😂😂
Brooke's giggling in the beginning is beyond annoying. The whole build up and reveal of Taylor being alive was so disappointing. Now the aftermath is even worse. Is she still holding back the whole truth for the sake of Ridge's stepmother wife and her kids or what??
Taylor isn't a stupid woman, but here she has been incredibly manipulative. She knows the ultimate deal breaker is admitting she got married while in full faculties of her mind. She's been dragging this out very slowly and now Omar has busted her. Taylor never "had" to marry Omar. She chose to.
Omar (Brooke the male version): “unlike Ridge I will never stop loving you. He may understand but he will never take you back. I’m begging you…” How many times have we heard Brooke beg and plead and make her sorry ass case so similar to this. Y’all are right. Omar and Brooke are the same!
@@ambika66681 when he asked Taylor if she wanted to discuss it on the plane to Morocco, she should have said: Sure, let's discuss it. I will meet you on the plane at the airport.. 🙄 This man just doesn't listen and will say anything just to get his own way
Brooke on the other hand is wearing an outfit that only Macy or Kristen could pull off. Between that hair color and the bright blue top, her face is almost invisible.
Great observation! Another example of costuming used to connect characters and tell story. It also fits with the idea that Taylor was trying to construct a love triangle with herself as the prize.
All Omar's manipulations to make Taylor see how Ridge moved on with Brooke married her and look at Ridge can't accept what Taylor did and done for his happiness 😊
Thank you!!! What does she hope to achieve? There is no reasoning with him, and she knows this. A few epis ago I said that Taylor should not even be talking to Omar other than through a lawyer. It sounded harsh, but sometimes being harsh with ppl like Omar is the only way to get thru to them. (And for added pleasure to the story, the lawyer could also be hunky Connor - since he's got alot of time on his hands NOT doing anything about Thorne's case - who then gets to know Taylor better as they spend more time together and realised why Ridge and Omar fell in love (and obsession) with her... Thus sparking a grand romance 😁)
@@TriniT21 And then Omar sees Taylor with Connor and realizes there's _another_ handsome man he can't compete with! And Taylor tells Omar: "If Ridge doesn't choose me, you still won't have me because I'll go with Connor. You're _third place_ just like Brooke!" 😂

Trish, I watched this Chinese period drama and one of the main characters is Ridge, Eric and Thorne all wrapped into one. There is a Stephanie-Iike character and a Brooke and a Taylors. I loved everything about the show and was thinking of how much you'd have to say in the comment section if you watched it. 😂
omg...when i am hearing Brooke talking about Taylor its like hearing all Brooke stans. We all saw the show this past year...she is an innocent victim, manipulated by Omar while being isolated from her loved ones...it took James, her father's medical condition and her "reconnecting" with Ridge for her to realise how she was manipulated......why isnt this explained to other characters its beyond me...Brad Bell writes and re-writes. At least Brooke's character is consistent, crying like being a victim when things dont go in her way, and gloating and being smug when on top.
You're sure right about Brooke being consistent. Consistently annoying... She will always do the wrong and selfish thing and acts all innocent and expect to be forgiven when it blows up in her face. But should anyone else she considers a rival do anything, she is quick to jump on them and point out flaws and why they shouldn't be forgiven.
Slash knows Thorne all of 5 minutes and has already figured out : 1. Macy is the HOTTIE on this show 2. Nobody cares about Thorne enough to do anything to save him, so he might as well break outta jail and "save" himself
He's pretty much got the whole Thorne/Macy corner of the show figured out. And he's actually giving Thorne better advice than Connor did ("go down to Mexico, and nail Armando's a💲💲to the wall" vs "plead guilty to man slau ghter and spend 10 years in prison but at least you won't get a death sentence").
I love how perfectly in character Thorne's jail break is. It's so refreshingly and hilariously awkward, passive, and un-heroic. First he thinks it's crazy, then he goes into knight in shining armor mode and decides to go through with it to rescue Macy, then he chickens out, then Slash threatens him so he *_chickens out of chickening out_* and finally jumps into the laundry basket, letting someone else actually do the job of smugg ling him out of there.
LOL indeed. And all these attenuating factors are necessary to make Thorne seem less guilty of breaking the law. I don't remember what happens with this but in real life Thorne would be in so much trouble for breaking out of jail and being part of a plan that involves punching out a corrections officer, that it wouldn't matter that he turned out to be innocent of Ivana's murder. We're talking major jail time.
@@NewYorkNick0607 The reality( as much a soap can have) has sailed long time ago. I love one of your posts about B&B being a family drama, the drama came from their interactions, relationship home scenes. That needs a good witty script. Sometimes I get the feeling they wanted to distract . But viewers noticed it. Action, plot set in far away countries with their own culture completely misread, stupid dungeon scenes. I love the simple fights : Stephanie vs Brooke, Brooke vs Taylor, Ridge in speedos,Sheila manipulating without getting burned, Eric fooled by young women. All the the Spectras entertainment and the fights in FC. Was it so complicated?
@@babs4848 Exactly Babs. The show is always stronger when it stays "closer to home" and focuses on romance, family and business drama. Outlandish storylines that take them away from that grounded reality (like Morocco or that ridiculous stuff they do later with Sheila in South America) are the weakest and ruinous to the show.
The entire truth should have been told to Ridge. How Omar kept her against her will, forced her to watch Ridge and Brooke at the palace, etc. Omar is a cruel man and Ridge is just plain stupid.
For the time being, not long before he leaves Brooke for Taylor and has three children with her, his actual children. Of course Brad Jr. writes Ridge waffling between them for decades to come.
Ridge has already forgiven Brooke and is discussing Taylor's indiscretions with her. _Another_ sign of who he'll choose that I didn't notice as a kid. I just assumed he'd choose Taylor because she's beautiful and lovely and Brooke is SpongeBob.
In Bill's writing style, Ridge forgiving Brooke so quickly would've only been an indication that he wasn't going to choose her in the end. Bradley is not only lacking those writing skills, he is too focused on using Ridge as a proxy person for his own personal preferences. 🤭
But it does only repell Taylor. Sheila is on the run from the police but still has time to want to meet Brooke. And Brooke agrees to wait for Sheila's call, nevermind Sheila's dungeon interlude ?

it’s amazing how in those days there was more interaction between the characters.. I mean in this episode we saw a lot of characters. Brooke and Ridge then Ridge and Taylor. Taylor and Omar. Dylan. Halfway through the episode there was Sheila’s call to Brooke. Thorne and his prison break. Scenes used to be better built. What has it become nowadays? We’re constantly seeing the same scenes between Hope and her mother and Taylor’s children. I think B&B ended before Stephanie died.
Laundry Jailbait #1: Yes definitely. Looks like a Forrester men's line model who possibly got busted for wrinkling a suit, even though it had been treated with BeLieF. Now he has to do laundry forever, in a place where nothing is treated with BeLieF.
Ridge's hypocritical anger really has me rolling my eyes. He has the audacity to ask Taylor "which husband"? She should be asking him "which wife" he wants. She should have been handing him divorce papers... See how fast his anger would boil right down if Taylor made that choice to walk away...bc he can't stand to not be the one to "choose"
Exactly. Bc everyone is wrapped up in their own world and version of what Taylor was supposed to do to make _them_ happy. They could care less what actually happened to her.
I would not say, nobody. Jack and James (and Gladys) definitely do care, but even they have not yet heard the full story. If Taylor had shared the story with the mirror, James and Jack likely would have encouraged Taylor to share that too with everyone else (or might have done it themselves if Taylor still hadn't).
🇹🇹 💯 Yes none of them care about what Taylor endured or experienced(except her father Jack)through no fault of her own yet she is scapegoated to absolve the guilt of everyone else. Once everyone can scapegoat Taylor their guilt and wanton disregard automatically absolves. The character of Taylor serves as a distraction from how horrible the Forrester's are, how powerless the Spectra's are and how desperate the Logan's are. All the others are just sidekicks, foils and entertainment for the leading families. Angel.🇹🇹
I know you loved the downplayed version of Taylor. And Ridge knowing about the volunteer would be only in favour of Taylor, given the fact she was the One who really helped him during his blindness.
Surely Ridge will put 2and 2 together when he realizes how connected he felt to the volunteer (and how ridiculous was it that they never insisted on her real name). Maybe once he realizes that Taylor can do accents and play pretend well. Nah, that’s too much analytical, reflective thinking for Ridge.
@@babs4848 a lot to this. Ridge doesn’t realize he still hasn’t heard full story. I actually really did enjoy the Volunteer and her accent. I mean this story is too nutty to take that seriously. It is at times a welcome escape from the day to day lives we lead.
Well, Ridge does figure out there was a connection to he and Brooke ending up at the palace? But he doesn’t know why? 😳 Taylor did not start from the beginning of her story…when Omar kept her from revealing herself to Ridge. That was a crucial part…because Taylor saw Ridge and Brooke happily together. It was at that point Taylor decided her life as she knew it with Ridge was over? Taylor listened to Omar and retreated from her position to let Ridge know she was alive. From that moment on Taylor pretended to be Layla…following a path of deception and lies. And now here she is trying to start over…but caught up in her lies and deception that she has projected to everyone. Maybe James knows more than anyone…Taylor’s motives?😳
Brooke is justified in talking the way she is talking and the fact that everybody think that Brooke is manipulative and outrageous and needs to mind her own business and she's the one to talk Taylor made bad choices and she did bad things to come back to Los Angeles so don't say what Taylor she do is justify but what Brooke do she has to accept accountability😮
Ironically, Taylor and Omar oddly parallel each other in these episodes. Both convince themselves they can get their beloved despite all evidence to the contrary, based solely on the strength of their desire and a marriage ceremony that may or may not still mean anything. Brooke’s crowing and smirking over Taylor’s marriage openly in front of Ridge was gross. She has no concern for his feelings outside of how they relate to her. I did enjoy seeing that smirk slide off her face when she realized that Taylor, even knocked out into a coma, could get a man to make her a literal princess. Thorne, buddy, I don’t normally condone jailbreaks, but given that your entire family seems to have forgotten you exist, I can’t entirely blame you.
So the show clearly had Taylor keep the details of what happened in Morocco vague so she and Ridge could have this explosive blowup which they have in the next episode but it was so nonsensical and contrived to not have her explain the full story to anyone. There was no reason for her not to. Also I have said it a million times, Ridge treats Taylor differently. They end up digging into why in like 1997, but the anger he shows at her in the next episode is absurd. I get that he never expects much from Brooke so he rarely blows up at her or even gets angry with her because he kind of just accepted long ago she's never going to be better but he is always SO OTT with Taylor. I mean, go back a few years, Brooke didn't know if her baby was his or his father's and she was living with his father when they were supposedly in love and he still never acted like the angry, crying drunk neanderthal he did when he thought Taylor had a thing with James (screaming at Taylor and walking out on her, punching James, gettting drunk and acting a fool at a party because Taylor didn't come to his show, crying when he finds out she and James were sharing a room)
@@ambika66681 Yes. He lost his mind! She hurts me worse than Brooke ever could" and that really said it all.
Brooke and her stans are merging. She sounds just like them when she's giving her "takes." Describing a story that's very different from what we actually saw play out onscreen.
It's when she says Taylor is "acting the victim"... Brooke must know what that's like first hand bc she acts like the winner of the Victim Olympics all day long. Only, Taylor was _actually_ a victim of several crimes done to her by others (mugging, kidnapping, brain washing and gas lighting to name a few). The only thing Brooke is a victim of, is her own selfishness. BTW.. When Brooke incredulously realised Taylor was princess Laila, I almost felt like she was a bit jealous there, with Taylor becoming the actual princess Brooke always dreamed about becoming, but would never be 😂😂

you will have to wait a little longer for that! But Taylor wrote Ridge a letter where she confessed it, before she flew to Morocco..ups, you forgot that. And the only people calling Taylor a saint, are haters like you!🙈🤷♀️
This same exact scene plays out 11 years later between Ridge and Taylor. Which brings me to my point. Was Taylor manipulated by Omar? No! Taylor just struggles to admit that she is not really the self-sacrificing, virtuous paragon of moral standards that she portrays herself to be AKA the opposite of Brooke Logan. She makes these conscious decisions like having sex with James and not telling Ridge then sacrificing her life by marrying Omar for Ridge and the kids. Both decisions actually show that Taylor really doesn't know who she is. Only who she pretends to be in the eyes of or in reaction to Ridge. At some point she realizes that Ridge has no clue about her James letter, but she consciously chooses not tell him in order to maintain her ideal image in his eyes and to remain above Brooke. So, Taylor wasn't manipulated by Omar, she simply decided that she didn't want to be that perfect alter ego in Morocco anymore. The only person manipulating is Taylor by convincing herself that she needs to be perfect to keep Ridge.
Hmmm you seem to have forgotten that Omar locked Taylor in a sound proof room and forced her to watch Ridge and Brooke. He also cut the the phone lines when she tried to call Ridge. He had guards on her bedroom door. He had his guards drag her away screaming when she went to Ridge and Brooke's guest room. He had a file on Ridge whilst Taylor still had no memory, yet he had no intention of enlightening her. She was forced to pretend to be going to a conference so that she could see her dying father. Do you honestly think Omar would have just let her leave at any time? It troubles me how many Brooke fans don't see Omar's obsessive and controlling behaviour as a problem, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I am a Tridge fan, but honestly, I wish Taylor had LEFT Ridge for James. Then maybe he wouldn't take her for granted and treat her like his own personal doormat.
@@laurens5964Taylor haters and Brooke fans tend to forget a lot of things, since they're watching a different show! 😂 Of course I agree with you, except for Taylor and James being a couple, since I don't see their chemistry. Friends ok, but not as a romantic couple
@@scor66 You're right, they don't have enough chemistry. I suppose I just want Taylor to teach Ridge a lesson that he won't forget and losing Taylor to another man might have done that.
I didn't forget anything. Had Taylor told Ridge the entire story from start to finish upon revealing herself to him, then yes, she would have more credibility. Unfortunately, she didn't do that, and she owed it to herself and him to be upfront and honest from the start. As well as revealing herself once she returned to town instead of the cloak and dagger charade. Again, Taylor struggles with the fact that she has a manipulative and vindictive side as well. I began rewatching these old episodes just to be more impartial to the relationship between Ridge and Taylor as well as Ridge and Brooke. It has all been very interesting because now I have a much better understanding of their personalities and how everything Omar told Taylor about her relationship with Ridge turned out to be true to the day 30+ years later. Which had nothing to do with Omar holding her hostage. She sealed her fate by marrying "mixed-up, I love two women, waffling" Ridge in the first place.
Taylor needs to go crawl back under the rock from which she came. This is why Brooke was always the right woman for Ridge. Brooke may not have the perfect past as well, but nothing Brooke did ever compared to what Taylor did to Ridge here.

*Ridge Needs Two Women Fighting Over Him*
Ridge being upset with Brooke for keeping the secret and mad at Taylor for marrying Omar is directly connected to his chauvinistic views of women and his need to always be the object/prize in the love triangle.

*Delusional Thorne:* "I'm too pretty for prison! I need to escape!"

I would not say, nobody. Jack and James (and Gladys) definitely do care, but even they have not yet heard the full story.
Taylor did not start from the beginning of her story…when Omar kept her from revealing herself to Ridge.
@@bettyhopson Perhaps, maybe he can figure out but right now he has his hands full with the Sheila case.

Yes Ridge this story is very far fetched I can’t believe it to
Omar is rather thick

@@staceygash9421still forgetting so much and watching a different show....😂👎🙈
7.31 Amazing music!!
Taylor needs to go crawl back under the rock from which she came. This is why Brooke was always the right woman for Ridge. Brooke may not have the perfect past as well, but nothing Brooke did ever compared to what Taylor did to Ridge here.
😂😅🤣🤭
I can't stand Brooks voice! So annoying!
Brooke was such a mean girl.
Oh yes I love this.
Ridge should never have taken Taylor back.
She's a deceitful person just like Brooke.
