    The FLASHPOINT BLAZ 300 R2 MONOLIGHT ( Godox MS300 )is a 300-watt second manual monolight, designed to be compact non-TTL AC studio members of the R2 Family of wireless radio controlled flashes. The small units deliver GN 190ft / 58m, accepting standard Bowens S-Type reflectors and modifiers. The pro 150w quartz modeling light makes lighting setups easy to achieve precise results. The incredible amount of power and control in these compact and lightweight flashes, make this design the first choice of all photographers with an eye for flexible multiple lights set up in a studio or home environment for everything from portraiture toproduct photography without the fear of blowing circuits. The BLAZ 300 R2 Monolight has a max recycle times of 1.8 seconds at full power, and an eye-popping 0.1 seconds at 1/32nd/5.0 output, with reliability that only AC can guarantee.
    R2 Wireless is the world famous 2.4GHz Radio system that binds the Flashpoint XPLOR600's ( Godox AD600 ), Streaklights ( Godox AD360II ), Zooms ( Godox V860II ) , eVOLV200's ( Godox AD200 ), Rapid's and Mini's, in total harmony. The incorporated R2 radio links to transmitter signals up to over a 100m/328ft range with 32 channels and up to 16 individual groups. Of course, youcan simply fire with a cable directly connected to the standard PC port.
    This impressive BLAZ 300 Monolight professional specs' don't end with power and speed. Exacting digital details, with a full menu ofPower, Channel, Group, and Model Lamp status is boldly displayed on the rear graphical LCD panel. The onboard Manual controls are ina Tenth (0.1) of a stop increments and, depending on the R2 remote transmitter linked to the flash, at Tenth's, or 1/3 stop. Throughout the wide 50 step range, color and flash duration is spot on, with less than a 2% variation. AC power means there is no limit on modeling lamp use, with an adjustable 5-100% bright 150w quartz lamp. Both flashtube and modeling lamp is user replaceable.
    This video is a guide to using the new Godox MS 300 / MS 200.

    This video is perfrect thanks so much for posting. Simple, to tyhe point and no BS explanation of all the features. All I need to bea bel to do is fire my two MS300s with the press of the shutter and control their power remotely without changing it individually on the flash unit. I was struggling with the second requirement and this video showed me how wiht me X2T trigger.

    Tkank you, Robert. Your video is so much more informative than the user's manual :). My MS300 arrived a few days ago and now I tested it a bit. I'm very satisfied. One thing to add: MS300 does support HSS, even though it's not documented. I've just taken a picture of its glowing flash bulb at 1/4000s, with the wires around the bulb clearly visible (the strobe's power at 1/32, 50 ISO, f/32 and 1/4000s - the shortest time in my camera). My settings: (1) HSS mode enabled in Godox X2T-N trigger (menu > sync > the 2nd option); (2) HSS enabled in the camera, as usual (Nikon D750 : menu > personal settings > e1> flash synchronisation set to 1/200s Auto FP or 1/250s AutoFP - it enables HSS , up/down to 1/4000s). Also, the recycling time of MS300 at full power is about 1 second , as my voltage is the European 230V, not 110V..

      I just bought the 3 light kit from B&H. ( 3x MS300, stands, remote, umbrella, Soft box, etc. ) These have the Bowens mount on them already. This is why I got this kit over the Flashpoint kit from Adorama ( that kit was also less powerful and no wireless included ) New is $450 and I got the used in almost new condition for 306 with free shipping. I am thrilled at how good the kit is for the money. This kit costs less than my Nikon SB700 Camera Flash.

    Hi, I'm David from Bogotá Colombia. I have a Godox 300 and I want to know why when doing studio photography when there is some ambient light or a window, that light affects the photography. The speed of the flash output is supposed to prevent that error. Thanks.

    • @Isaypreach
      @Isaypreach 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To get rid of ambient light. U gotta raise ur shutter speed, lower ur iso as low as it go. Turn off most lights if u possible if not those settings i mentioned should allow u to get a black screen. Which means u should only see the light of ur flash. Mind u, ur aperture should be closed down as well i.e f3 on up. Because if ur lens is wide open it can still let some light in. I believe this is what u were asking for. Forgive me if I didn't help

      They are not capable of High speed sync. You can search the manual and you'll not find a single instance of "HSS" or "High speed sync".
      You might be doing Hypersync, which is easy considering the flash is not IGBT and has very long flash durations, but HSS is completely different.

  • @tugwilson

    I'd missed the trick of holding down the modelling light button to dim it when the flash fires, thanks!
    Small nitpick at 4:00. The SIP switch settings displayed on the light aren't really useful when using 433MHz triggering as the trigger and receiver are not related to the 2.4GHz settings on the light. They are, however, useful if you are triggering with the XT16. If the light's group is in the range F-9 the XT16 (1/3 stop increments) and XT32 (1/10 stop increments)are the only remote triggers I can think of which can change the light's settings. It's a great pity Godox never released the promised single pin XT32 It would have been useful for people running commercial studios who have no control over the type of camera their users have.
    Pity they didn't support Wireless ID.

    hello Robert I have a question about Flashpoint lights and as you have a peak experience shooting with this kind of Lights maybe you can help me to understand which one I need most. first of all I want to say that I'm a food photographer and I own Flashpoint ad200 Pro and my first question, I would like to know does this light capable to freeze the action, not because I always need to freeze action as I said I'm a food photographer and sometimes I need to freeze something no but for example milk puring in a coffee or throwing nuts from above to the table that is all, so I don't need any crazy freezing actions or something like that. So first question was does AD200 pro capable to do this kind of job and if it is does which settings should I use? should I increase my ISO to give the light room to breathe just a little bit and if it is not capable to do this kind of freezing actions I was watching one of your videos about Godox QT600II and as I know they have different series 400 / 600 / 800 / 1200ws and I would like to know which one is more than enough for me? or maybee you can suggest something alse, and last question? if i buy one of this products can i use it wit my AD200 Pro both the same time using Xpro Trigger Please i know that you are very busy a lot of question from people like me but if it is possible help me to understand and buy the right gear for my work

    • @ge48421
      @ge48421 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The reason the MS 300 needs to dump the charge when you lower the light output is because the switching element (thyristor) that starts the flash only turns off when the current stops running, i.e. when the capacitor is completely discharged. The light control determines the amount of charge in the capacitor.
      Flash units that support TTL and/or high speed sync use a switching element (Gate Turn Off or GTO thyristor) that can stop the current from flowing whenever enough light has been produced. This type of flash can produce very short flash pulses when they’re run far below full power, possibly 1/10000 s. High speed sync is done by producing lots and lots of very brief flashes.
      I would test this using using your AD 200 or a regular speedlight at close distance to your subject in a dark room, say at 1/64 power, and see whether the flash pulses are brief enough to freeze your subject matter. (Don’t use high speed sync)
      I think it’s unlikely that the MS 300 would be any better at this than the AD 200, and it’s likely to be worse because it controls the light levels by regulating the capacitor’s charge in stead of turning the flash tube off, but only an experiment or digging into the specs may give you a definite answer.

      @@Avat6 You only have to dump the charge when you reduce the power. The flash button on the unit will blink to warn you when that's necessary.
