Hey everyone, I wanted to share a few points to help guide the discussion. In the video, I mainly used the AD200Pro II as a fill light. In the Garden: The flash effectively eliminates the green cast, providing a clean and consistent color throughout the fabric and skin tones. It also enhances the brightness of the skin and clothing by about one stop, helping the subject stand out from the background. Reflector Use: While a reflector can work for close-up shots, it’s not as effective for full-body shots, especially in shaded areas where there isn't enough light to reflect. Think of it like a studio setup with clamshell lighting-reflectors can work well in that closeup scenario, but for full-body shots, you'll likely need to rely on flash for proper fill lighting. Under Direct Sunlight: The flash is primarily used to fill in the shadows and create catchlights in the eyes. Look and Feel: For this shoot, I aimed for a more natural look (EV 0), as that’s what the clothing brand requested. If you prefer a more dramatic look (EV -2), the AD200Pro II is powerful enough to achieve that as well. I apologize for not diving too deeply into technical details in the video. My goal was to focus on the AD200Pro II's features, rather than providing an in-depth Godox 101 class. Hope that helps! Feel free to drop any additional questions in the comments below.

@@abhikaulavkar Hey mate, I understand your point-removing the iPad does free up my hands a bit. Shooting tethered is quite common in fashion photography, especially for lookbooks and campaigns. I’ve adopted this practice since it’s more or less an industry standard. Personally, I find shooting tethered helps me control lighting more precisely, particularly when it comes to intensity and white balance (especially when I use gels). The software also makes using a grey card much easier. Tethered or not? It’s really about more control versus mobility, and there’s no definitive right or wrong answer. Like I said, it’s a matter of preference-you choose what works best for you. For instance, I wouldn’t recommend tethering to journalists or wedding photographers. Thanks for bringing this up! I always love Aries' videos, and get some useful detail from them. Some questions: Does the AD200 Pro II have matching batteries and light modules with both predecessors? Regarding the X3 -- what is happening with the Leica-coded X3? It is hard to find. Some descriptions state that it is compatible with Panasonic Lumix, and others do not. Does Lumix work with both X3-O and X3-L? Also, as an L-Mount Ally, will the Sigma fp be compatible with either of these? I am primarily using Lumix, but do have a Leica TL2 and do hope to add an L-mount Sigma one day. Thanks!💎🦘
The Leica X3L is designed specifically for use with Leica cameras. The AD200PROII battery is compatible with the first-generation model; however, the new head is not compatible with the earlier lights.
I wish the X3 was designed better and put the knobs on the other side. You can even see it in this video where you have to take your hand off the camera grip to adjust the transmitter because they put them on the same side as the trigger button of the camera.
Will the bulb head for AD200 proII be compatible with AD200 pro? To be more precise, would the LED on the bulb head (probably H200J II) work on the AD200 proII as well?
Great review and excellent new Godox product! But how the camera interfaces with the flash s not clear to me It looks like you have to buy an extra Godox AD200Pro2 controller to suit your camera hotshoe. ????
