I know that this is pretty much a dead topic, but I just wanted to give my brutally honest thoughts on Seasons 13-16 in general. PLEASE LISTEN TO THE DISCLAIMER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE VIDEO BECAUSE IT'S VERY IMPORTANT!!!
I do NOT own Thomas & Friends. It belongs to Mattel Television. All of the pics used here are found on the Thomas the Tank Engine Wikia, and therefore, fall under fair use. NO MONEY HAS OR WILL BE MADE OFF OF THIS!!!
For inquires, contact trevordavisvids@gmail.com.
Oh, and another correction: Murdoch is ALSO orange (yellow-orange that is). To those of you who made comments about it, I just wanted to say, "Thank you for the criticism. It really helps me a lot. And I'm sorry for screwing that up earlier." I might make a top 5 orange-painted characters in Thomas video someday.
You are right I like it that era
I think it okay
Watch the Thomas cynic video about which era worst of Thomas
You can say season 16 Is at least the best of this era
U also forgot toby in the prominent orange characters considering brown is litterally dark orange
"Happy Birthday, Sir!" is the more PROPER conclusion to Season 16 considering that it was the last episode of the season in production order.
I don’t know if she’s a bad writer or not because the Miller films are pretty good. HiT must have made her write like that.
She baby level series
HiT still owned Thomas when Andrew Brenner took over the show
I thought the great discovery was amazing
Sharon Miller writing Thomas episodes: *Normal spongebob*
Sharon Miller writing The Great Discovery, Hiro of the Rails and Blue Mountain Mystery: *Fry cook games spongebob*
Also honestly, I can't tell if she was forced to write like that, was under pressure and couldn't think under pressure or if she's just a bad writer.
Miller wanted to add Splodge and Dennis in DOTD but Hit forced her to replace them with Paxton,Sidney and Norman
Just want to point out that Thomas appeared as a cameo in Percy and the Monster of Brendam.
Shoot! Thanks for the correction!
@@TrevortheTrainFan You're welcome.
One thing I want to tell you is that James, Henry, Edward, And Emily Made Cameos in Up, Up and Away thus they did appeared in the whole episode once.
@@T-n-Pproductions When And Where??
Do cameos really count? I don't personally count those
It took me a lot to figure out that HiT Entertainment was the one who made the choices and not Sharon Miller. Really makes you reconsider everything that happened.
Yeah, I've heard something about that.
*she was a hero,we just couldn't see it*
@@davidantoniocamposbarros7528 You know “female heroes” are called “heroines”, right?
@TrevortheTrainFan, if Slippy Sodor was rewritten, Sixteen would take Thomas's place. And he would bump the flatbed, which would cause the bubble liquid to fall out of the barrel. He would also blow steam at Henry, Gordon, and James. They would apologize for laughing at Sixteen
Sharon Miller is not a bad person.Just her writing is needing to be better.
I think you'll find that HIT forced her write the era the way it turned out
@@thomasanderson63 WHAR?
@@thomasanderson63 and apparently hit is coming back
@@whossean Agreed
So she was the hero of the rails all along!
0:30-0:33 Don't forget: Sharon Miller is a normal human being just like the rest of us. A specific show should not depend on a specific writer or writers.
True!
@@TrevortheTrainFan I’m sure she’s a nice person irl I think all the bad writing was due to hit and not Sharon Miller I think hit might’ve just told her to add the bad elements because they thought they would make the show more marketable or something I don’t think the writing was her fault
Yes!
Although the episodes turned out trash you can tell that Sharon Miller tried her best to appeal to kids which is kinda how sodor's stories began, as stories for a child when recovering from the measles
Sharon miller is not bad, but the episodes from that era can be improved.
I'll take any of her episodes over the upcoming reboot any day.
Your a dutch guy
I saw you by a dutch thomas channel
Finally I'm not alone on watching this over season 25.
I swear, that the person controlling Ol' Weezy is crazy af.
Ol wheezys driver is on drugs thats why ol wheezy gos yeet
Yea misty island is very dangerous if a heavy engine goes on the shakes bridge they will be SLAUGHTERED

I Agree, I Don’t Hate Sharron Miller Either And I’m Sick And Tired Of Seeing Rude Memes On Her
Agreed. And besides, she's old news. So why bother hating on her to this day?
Exactly
Trevor Davis Exactly and even though I do like seasons 1-12 a.k.a the model series, as I consider them the true seasons and gold era of Thomas, I do like seasons 13-16 a little bit but nowhere as much as 1-12, but there is no reason to hate on Sharon Miller. This is exactly why I think that best friends which is the final episode of season 12 as well as the final model episode should’ve been the SERIES finale as opposed to the SEASON finale.
Plus My Least Favourites
Season 13: Toby’s New Whistle
Season 14: Henry’s Magic Box
Season 15: Wonky Whistle
Season 16: Percy & The Monster Of Brendam
I grew up with this era, and I respect your thoughts on the era, and you are right in the disclaimer message!
Same
To Be Honest, Since The Reboot, I’ve Started To Appreciate The Miller Era A Lot More But I Can’t Say The Same For BWBA
TBH, if Misty Island was a real place I would visit it in a heartbeat.
My list- ( Not only Miller episodes and New Series episodes are included )
10. The Lion of Sodor
9. Buzzy Bees
8. Thomas Toots the Crows
7. Percy's New Friends
6. Edward Strikes Out
5. Toby's New Whistle
4. Henry's Magic Box
3. Up, Up and Away
2. Wonky Whistle
1. Don't be Silly Billy
Aren't "The Lion of Sodor", "Percy's New Friends", "Thomas Toots the Crows", "Wonky Whitstle", and "Toby's New Whistle" episodes not written by Miller, but another writer?
I Actually Like The Lion Of Sodor And Tobys New Whistle
as bad as the Sharon Miller era was, at least it didn't throw out two of it's main characters, there wasn't any bouncing,
Thomas wasn't the narrator, and the engines still feel like working machines. (misty island doesn't count) the only major flaw was the writing. if that was fixed, this era could have been an improvement.
5:57 As the Engine Inspector once said, "political correctness is fine in appropriate context like what an ethnic group prefers to be called, but when it's trying to hide the fact that Christmas is in a children's television show is just plain ridiculous." That's why I'm so glad that the late Hilary Fortnam got them to start using the term Chritmas again. Thanks and praises to her.
Up, Up, And Away Makes No Sense. Shouldn't They Pack The Balloons And Put Them In Boxes?
8:57 because annie and clarabel didn’t have voice actors until blue mountain mystery.
I knew that! Lol 😆
Sharon Miller isn't necessarily a bad person by anything. Her writing could have been improved. Her writing from Seasons 9 to 12 was hit and miss. But her writing from Seasons 13 through 16 was abysmal (with a few exceptions). I just think she did a better job with her voice directing and being the voice of the Queen of England. Oh, and did you know that Sharon Miller wrote an episode of Bob the Builder: Ready, Steady, Build? Yeah. Push just comes to shove that she isn't a bad person at all.
I hate belle not because of her weird design or how she and flynn are super incompetent but because she feels like a replacement of arthur one of the best non railway series characters ever made in my opinion.
I agree this era was bad, but I feel the BWBA era was worse. With the Miller era, it was mostly down to HIT being clueless but not malicious. They had no clue what to do with Thomas. Whereas BWBA actively went out of its way mock Awdry's legacy. Mattel was extremely and openly malicious with the BWBA era.
@supermariof0521 You know, I haven’t thought about it
@@sophiebyers5496 I see.
10:05 well I guess the only reason why they put two tracks on Gordon’s hill instead of three is probably because they might have gotten annoyed of belle’s character in this episode even the narrator sounds like he’s rolling his eyes when narrating
The part you said "Why can they put it in a box car" Was my best solution. Plus if this episode use that problem solving thinking, the episode will trun out much better rather than the pice of garbage we've got!
When you think about it, BWBA was at least so bad it's funny, but sharon Miller episodes were the worst type of bad, boring.
Thomas and Friends as Undertale Characters:
Thomas as Sans
James as Papyrus
Percy as Alphys
Mrs. Dowager Hatt as Toriel
Sir Topham Hatt as King Asgore
Sharon Miller as Chara
Mattel as Flowey
Sharon Miller is not a bad person at all he is a very nice person and his work on Thomas for some episodes is really good
ENGINE’S DONT PLAY, THEY WORK!!!!!!!!😤😤😤😤😤😡😤😡
The reason why billy was replaced by charlie its because Hit entertainment wants to sell more toys
Now I know how bad the Miller Era is. Maybe I can build a time machine, so I can go back in time and tell Miller to stop doing the formula and add realism to this Era.
on gorden's hill in big belle, there are three tracks on one side and two on the other
Actually, there were two tracks in Big Belle when there are supposed to be 3.
Miller wrote Hero of the Rails and created one of the best characters. She has potential but she keeps ruining it.
True, but at least seasons 13-16 had some consistency (unlike what Mattel does nowadays).
My Top 10 Worst Thomas & Friends Episodes:
10. *Toby’s Discovery* - I like Season 5, which is my favorite season of all time, but the only episode I don’t like is Toby’s Discovery, because of the two things: Toby being too chicken (which means being a scaredy-cat) and Bertram, a pointless character only made for merchandise.
9. *Middle Engine* - Not just Toby’s discovery is one of the worst episodes of the classic series, but also Middle Engine. Arry and Bert don’t get blamed by the fat controller, and instead the episode blames Percy and James instead.
8. *Big Belle* - Belle is an idiot in the episode, and it’s just too forgettable.
7. *Henry’s Magic Box* - Henry is a god damn whimp.
6. *Skarloey the Brave* - Skarloey is so f**ked-up, because he goes on a winch, breaks it and crashes, which is so dangerous. He is also acting childish and idiotic. How did HIT mess this up?!?!
5. *Fiery Flynn* - Flynn is idiotic, and the narrator says “Firebox on Fire”??? IT’S A GOD DAMN FIREBOX!!! If it wasn’t on Fire, then THOMAS WOULDN’T MOVE!!! So it’s SUPPOSED TO BE ON FIRE!!!
4. *Up Up and Away* - the Visuals are too disgusting, and it’s too unrealistic. Also, Mr. Bubbles should NOT exist.
3. *Edward Strikes Out* - Edward, towards Seasons 10-12, lost some popularity due to this episode, which makes Edward so out of character. You know what I mean. Could they at least make James the main character!
2. *Wonky Whistle* - Obvious reasons.
1. *Thomas’ Train* - How did Thomas not know he left his train behind?! It’s way too simple and is featured in way too many old Thomas VHS tapes.
When I was little, I honestly didn’t care about the era. I just like them. Now that I’m older, I can see why people dislike these kinds of episodes and I do wish that they were improved. I’m positive that Sharon Miller is a good person and that there was a reason why episodes like these were a little off.
Sharon Miller may not write good episodes, but at least her episodes are watchable compared to All Engines Go. Plus, I'm pretty sure she hates the reboot just like everyone else.
YOUR TELLING ME THAT SHARON MILLER VOICED THE QUEEN IN THE ROYAL ENGINE!😡 sorry for my outburst I was just startled
Don't you think she did a great job voicing her?
Fun fact: Billy and Charlie have the same basis
I originally thought Stanley had their basis too but his smoke box is a arch and not a circle
Billy: he's my stupid younger brother
James in the dark was an episode that I don’t like because, James should know better that lamps are silly because I’ve seen him wear a lamp before in the model era and wearing without a lamp in the dark is dangerous. In fact James was an idiot in that episode until he realized. Besides watch the episode.
*hears you say "Engines don't play"* the beginning of Percy Runs Away would like a word with you
Do you what two things are worse than the Sharon Miller era (even though I loved it)? Series 12 and........
THE FRICKEN THOMAS REBOOT IN FRICKEN 2D!!!!!
1:11 Same here. It's my favourite TV show with Pingu coming in second and Teletubbies coming in third.
7:12 You forgot Murdoch
I miss that steamer
@@blueraccoon1088 Me too. If he were to ever come back in full CGI, then I think he should speak with a Scottish accent like in the UK version of Season 12.
I’m glad that people are now giving Sharon Miller compassion
Honestly i grew watching classic episodes and miller episodes when i was 3 im 11 now
Sharon Miler is the Thomas & Friends version of Merriweather Willams. Both were good writers in different shows, but Willams only wrote 2 good episodes. Hearts warming eve, and bats. I don’t hate Willams, same for Miller, I just think that they both need just a little bit of help.
She was forced to by executive meddling
the worst sharon miller episode is definetly Push Me, Pull You. It's the 2nd worst episode EVER.
What I'm curious about is why Sharon Miller was even appointed as writer for the series to begin with. I know you said no nasty comments against her, but I'm sorry. I don't feel that she had a grip on the purpose of the railway series, as you yourself convey here in this video.
Yes Sharon Miller had a questionable writing style, but she made the best movie ever blue mountain mystery (in my opinion)
My worst Miller episodes:
Season 13: Play Time
Season 14: Henry’s Magic Box
Season 15: Fiery Flynn
Season 16: Percy And The Monster Of Brendam
I rather stick watching the Miller era, big world big adventures era is quite pointless.
The Miller Era was a big part of me growing up, and I thought it was good when I was a wee baby.
Now looking back I simply don't care for it, I don't hate it ... But I don't like it. I just simply don't care.
I understand.
Same
My pick for worst Sharon Miller episode of the entire Miller Era goes to Percy and the monster of Brendam because I hate how Edward, Henry, and Toby were treated like nothing like they don't matter or something like Hit Era just doesn't care about them! I don't like how they can't get these characters right they deserve better than that! I don't blame Sharon Miller I personally blame the Hit Era and the Thomas and Friends production Bible they made! Honestly! why Hit Era?! Where is your logic Hit Era?! 😡
sharon miller just destroyed my childhood i like the older seasons better
Me too (as well as seasons 17-21)!
Imagine Wilbert Awdry himself seeing Henry getting scared of a snowman in "Ho Ho Snowman". His resurrection would've immediately been undone.
I agree no real life offense to Sharron Miller
A firebox is actually supposed to have fire in it, not on fire.
I knew that. Thanks for clarifying.
speaking of sydney...he was in the diesel work for the hole movie of day of the diesels and...wasn't rescued...SO HOW DID HE APPEAR IN SEASON 17?!
He returned in the Missing Christmas Decorations where it was revealed in the end that he was inside the Dieselworks for two years, which makes sense because it takes place two years after the events of Day of the Diesels. However, you've made a good point. How did Sidney survive a fire like that? He would've gotten scrapped because of it!
Trevor,in day of the diesels,He was seen hanging high in the movie when Percy told the joke!so that’s where he returned!
Honestly (in my opinion) I hate Billy more than Charlie and I like Charlie More than Billy and I think replacing Billy with Charlie was a good choice again it's just my opinion. Nice video Trevor! ❤
HIS FIREFOX WAS ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Least favorite episodes from each season of the Nitrogen Era in my opinion:
S13: Play Time (I swear, Charlie was a dick in this era)
S14: Jumping Jobi Wood (Poor Edward deserved better then to have S14 thrash him around)
S15: Wonky Whistle (I’m not even explaining)
S16: Sodor Surprise Day (Thomas was drunk in this episode, literally)
1. What’s your favorite hit/sharon miller era newbie
2. What’s your opinion on the logging locos
3. Release Date for season 2 of your series
4. Opinion on unlucky tug
I agree with how you would write Billy, but that is exactly how Phillip was written. At least they learned over time how to write a character that is silly in a way that works as well as stand out from the others.
Sharon miller was pretty good as the queen in Thomas and the royal engine special
In response to people complaining about the rhyming during this era, some have said things like "Well, if you listen closely, there was a lot of repetition in the early series while the engines were puffing fast". Yes, they said "Hurry, hurry, hurry" and "Come along, come along" a lot. Not to mention the troublesome trucks repeated themselves a lot. That's different from the Miller era. In the classic series, the repeated lines conveyed a sense of commitment to their jobs and being on time. On the other hand, all the "I made good decisions, that's what I was told..." lines were used as a crutch and were not a good fit for that narrative.
I will say, though, one instance of rhyming that was kinda funny was when the Logging Locos mocked Thomas in Misty Island Rescue. Ferdinand even had a line that wasn't "That's right". He said "You'll be brave and bold."
Why did you make all the episodes of the same Sharon Miller you know people are going to get bored of it she just needs to improve her writing
6:17 That's my favourite episode from Series 13. Just because of the nostalgia, the fact that Rosie is in this episode and that I watched this episode many many times when I was younger.
10:55 "His firebox was on fire." Wha...? Firebox.... on fire? IT'S CALLED A FIREBOX!!! IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE ON FIRE!!!
14:26 That's what I've always said.
18:21 That's my favourite episode from Series 15. Why? Because I watch it all the time.
16:12 maybe Thomas and Charlie were Shutting trucks at Gordon's hill because they had to clear the line but I hate ho ho snowman
My worst specials and mini special
1 calling all engines
2 misty island rescue
3 steam team to the rescue (except the song) because i thought Edward Henry and Toby are going to have a speaking role but they only sing, and also the ending what kind of ending was that ?!!
You know the episode that had the clown in it, HAVE YOU NOT NOTICED HOW SUPER TALL THAT GUY IS
My top 10
10: Kevin the steamie
9: slippy sodor
8: Thomas and the snowman party
7: ho ho snowman
6: up up and away
5: Play time
4: henrys magic box
3: Percy and the mother of Brendam
2: fiery Flynn
1: splish splash splosh
Is It Weird That I Used To Watch The Sharon Miller Era As A Kid, And Yet I Still Enjoy It As A Teen
@@CTGLite_Studios Kind of, but I’ll try to respect your opinion anyway.
All Engines Go would be a haven for Charlie
I grew up with both the miller and the late model series, like season 8-12, because it was still airing in Michigan programs, but now I live in Florida, and I actually really liked the Miller era, although now I do see the problems with it, mainly the writing and the rhyming dialogues! And HIT's serious obsession with flatbeds! Like putting an open barrel of bubble liquid on a flatbed, a huge light star on a flatbed, and an inflated balloon on a flatbed, oh please Sharon Miller! And some destroyed characters, and the 3 strikes you're out style, although I don't really mine the 3 strikes you're out, so I still do like the Miller era, and it is still enjoyable, but it's not like my favorite era nowadays, and it could use some tweaks! But other than that, I still enjoy it!
Maybe bash dash and Ferdinand were far away and they didn't even know what was going on
The Christmas tree Express is Micheal Angelis' final work in ttte, making his last line:
Rheneas beamed from buffer to buffer.
Most of these episodes were from my childhood. I can enjoy episodes like Splish Splash Splosh, Play Time, and Jumping Jobi Wood. I also like Charlie in the first couple of CGI seasons. I also kinda like the Logging Locos.
Same
One good thing in the Christmas Tree Express is that Rheneas’ German VA is a clone of Ringo Starr.
I think they read the part of the ios book about a yard near Gordons hill
I was around when season 14 came out
I think the person controlling Ol' Wheezy is dead and their head slammed on the controls
"Splish, Splash, Splosh."
*Rubbadubbers intensifies*
I Love Andrew Brenner Era all episodes and specials are good fun and no accident if in sharon miller era engines do mistake all the time again and again
That era makes the main protagonist of the episode make a mistake and must think of an idea of fix that.
At least we can all agree what's the best thing about HIT Entertainment.......
The Dancing Cubes logo and it's catchy music.
Not to mention that they at least CARED about the quality of their toys (unlike Mattel).
Old Wheezy Wobbles actually killed Dart’s German VA.
Up up and away makes me struggle to get happiness
0:29 *I wish Twitter could listen to these words…*
I have a theory for Edward’s attitude in Jumping Jobi Wood. I believe it is fair to say that Edward may have became more weary in his old age. That could be why he was acting a bit wimpy.
Being born in the late 2000s i really enjoyed the model and Sharon Miller eras of Thomas and i also enjoyed the andrew brenner era
I agree! Sharon Miller is not bad! I think she deserves more love and I think her writing work for Thomas and Friends (in my opinion) is great! Even if her some of her writing was wrong. She's still a great writer for Thomas and Friends though! ❤❤❤❤
16:17 Wilbert Awdry - RULE 55! YOU CAN’T DO IT!!!
Besides day of the diesels. I literally can't stand the Sharon miller era. I literally skip from season 6 to season 17.
(I'm not sure who wrote 7-12. But i dont like those seasons either. The "HIT"era, but 13-16 is SUCH GARBAGE)
Seasons 17-21 brings back the fun and charm from the original 6 six seasons.
But then MATTEL had to go and ruin it again in season 22-current.
@LordSheevy98 Technically. Because it's from the Director of 1-6. But For the Us anyway. This season was the start of the downfall. First. The writting became way more simplistic. And the new narrator Michael Brandon Didn't help. He talks slow and condescendingly to the audience to the point of being unwatchable. The new soundtrack while having some good tracks can't compare to the Original soundtrack.
So while yes it is. It's more similar to 8-12 which is Why I and Most people see it as separate from 1-6.
Wait you like dick diesels you sure like he was rails or Blue Mountain Mystery
Don't blame her she tried
Dude, I'm not attacking her as a person. I'm just being brutally honest with her works. But yeah, at least she tried unlike the greedy corporates at Mattel right now.
I like buck teeth. All I have is a little space between my upper teeth. I like to put the tip of my dogs tooth in my spaced out teeth
7:15 and Murdoch
And also one more thing the sad thing is Michael angelis the British UK narrator had died in a heart attack isn't that sad it is?
Yes, it is sad. I'll miss him as much as George Carlin.
i thought milller era was pretty good
I enjoyed hero of the rails, blue mountain mystery, day of the diesel
I understand and respect your opinion.
I hate the Sharon Miller era
*Excuse me you will be blocked from this channel and Reported to TH-cam*
Also annie and clarabel didnt speak in the miller era until Blue mountain mystery
