- Here's the long-awaited top 10 video about my least favorite Big World Big Adventures episodes in the Thomas franchise! I hope you enjoy!!!
Disclaimer: This video is NOT FOR KIDS!!! It contains a few swear words here and there because I needed to let all of my inner demons out!
If there's anything I could've done better or elaborated more on (which I'm sure there is), please let me know in the comments below as long as it's constructive criticism.
Please note that this will be my last top video for the month because in the next two weeks, I will be on vacation to Minnesota to see family as well as bringing one of my dogs, named Barrington, to Manhattan, Kansas for surgery because he's been having joint problems lately. I hope he gets better soon after that.
And after my two-week break, I will get started on the follow-up to this, which will be about the BEST BWBA episodes in the Thomas franchise! So, please be patient about that! And once again, thank you for over 3.4K subscribers! It really helps me a lot! See you all in July!

I understand. Also, since there is almost no Thomas episode I think are outright terrible, I like episodes like Forever and Ever. I don’t really like Thomas in the Wild because it’s just boring. Thomas didn’t even learn anything (Phineas and Ferb and modern Loud House I can understand with the not learning anything gist because kids can just learn things in school, but isn’t the point of Thomas the teach kids stuff?).
Not counting A New Arrival or World of Tomorrow since they're double length episodes, what's your thoughts on the shorter episodes featuring most of Ruth's inventions?

Forever and Ever’s alternative title should’ve been: Mattel making fun of everyone who criticises their changes: the episode.
I don’t know, Stuart. Some fans might be offended, although, that’s what the writers may have thought after the release of the episode. I like Forever and Ever, but I can see the writers’ perspective, too.

With Rebecca, they should say that she's strong, fast and powerful enough to pull the Express just like Gordon, something that no other engine has the speed or strength to do. That's something special about Rebecca. But saying that she sees the best in everyone, we've had characters with that type of personality, specifically Porter, Stephen, even Thomas and Percy see the positive side of things sometimes. And she did this once at the end of What Rebecca Does when Marion points out that she made Daisy feel good about herself for being a diesel railcar. But that's what Daisy is anyway - highly sprung, up-to-date and thoroughly modern.

If Rebecca was introduced in Season 21 like initially planned, I bet they would have introduced her better there.

For me, the BWBA series was okay, although there are some episodes that I found completely horrendous.

@Paw Patrol x Transformers I like both eras tbh: if you hadn’t seen my video ranking the Thomas eras, the Miller era is a guilty pleasure for me, with, of course, a lot of flaws. BWBA is a bit better, but again, with flaws.
The irony to it all is that Rebecca was planned to be introduced in Season 21 and would have been a proper character, before Mattel cut the season short.
As for Thomas’s Animal Friends, it is pretty bad, but it’s message is relatable to the fandom, with the whole “like what you want regardless of what others think” idea.
I get why people do not like "Thomas' Animal Friends". But I don't even believe it is the worst episode of the show in general or BWBA because the three that take this place are "Marvelous Machinery" and "Kenji on the Rails Again". Do I even bother go into further detail on why both of them are worse than "Thomas' Animal Friends?" In my opinion, I'd rather have an episode where Thomas takes the job of helping out the Sodor Animal Park on Edward's Branch Line (even though, I do wish Nia was the role for that episode, TBF), rather than watch two episodes that are rehashed, overly gimmicky, inconsistent, cringe inducing, pathetic attempts at being entertaining and one where the writers behind the other episode really don't try and write off Hiro abruptly by building that up ONLY AT THE LAST TWO MINUTES!!
I know it's not fair to fault the writers over an episode script, but if you think about how Hiro did not appear in Seasons 21-23 and was brought back to the franchise again with the reboot we do not ever speak of, it goes to show how irrelevant the decision to have Hiro leave Sodor again really was. No one felt like they cared at all and just did whatever. I am not saying Hiro leaving Sodor is a BS concept, but the way it was handled the second time was rushed, unfinished, and badly handled is why I couldn't stand that episode.

I have a couple problems to pick at the double length Episode known as Steam Team to the Rescue;
First one, Sir Topham Hatt told Thomas that “We don’t have enough engines, Thomas!” Well… what about all the other engines besides the Steam Team! Surely it’s been a while since we saw any of them including Donald and Douglas, or heck even borrow some engines from Mainland UK like Stepney!
Second problem, at the end, Sir Topham Hatt congratulated the team for their hard work in clearing up the chaos at Brendam Docks yet he forgot about the Diesels still trapped in the Dieselworks!

And I will have to admit on Thomas makes a mistake it's kinda average because Thomas makes every mistake over and over and over again and for episodes such as too loud Thomas I think it's good but now when I think about it it's a little average and a little harmless although I absolutely laughed at that one harmless gag. Runaway Truck or Runaway Car in the US I honestly enjoy the episode because on that dynamic between Thomas and Yong Bao and for Lei he's fine even though that he is a Chinese Goods van and I know it is unrealistic that he is literally tipped over every time that he gets bumped by Thomas try to learn t'ai Chi honestly it's kind of growing on me.
Forever and ever and what Rebecca does, I think one of those episodes are good and I will respect your opinion on the dream sequence where the engines are literally bouncing if they're listening to hip-hop but that's for me the music in the background is so hip hop in pretty cool and Rebecca is cool with the shades although it could have been better if Diesel 10 was in this episode and as for forever and ever a pretty good episode for me and I do understand that it doesn't make much sense about Henry leaving at Tidmouth Sheds and going to vicarstown sheds for now on and I personally don't mind it but it could have been a little bit executed and the moral I know that some people think that knee has reason for leaving Kenya ruins it but as for me I quite like that moral even the life lesson segments. Thomas's animal friends the final episode of Thomas and Friends unless if you count Thomas and the Royal engine I think it was pretty good and I do understand that people hate it because it exists just to sell merchandise trust me I had got the motorized items and even the monkey Adventure set but personally I don't blame it.
The Water Wheel I think it's a good episode because it explains what a Waterwheel can absolutely do in China and it is pretty interesting that things could be made from bamboo even though pandas do eat bamboo.
Overall opinions are highly respected on the worst episodes of Big World Big Adventures.
Speaking of Forever and Ever, here's a theory of explanation.:
Henry needs to move to Vicarstown because he takes the Flying Kipper at most nights and after delivering the Flying Kipper, he arrived back in Tidmouth Sheds at late night or at dawn and he'll be tired when he works in a daytime. When he arrives back in Vicarstown, he'll be on time to sleep again like near midnight. Rosie got repainted for a change and another change is she moved to work in Vicarstown.
Not bad.

Here’s an idea: when James crashes into Tidmouth shed, have the shed be completely destroyed and needs to rebuilt from the ground up, the reconstruction could be an over arching plot in the BWABA era, while building the shed, sir Topham Hatt might decide to add more berths to the shed.
During the BWABA movie, Thomas could’ve saved Nia’s life. Nia would then feel in debt with Thomas and decides to help on the NWR but feel out of her league. We could maybe see her getting frustrated with herself but refusing to go until the debt is paid, and maybe have Edward step in and help her.
In the last season, if they wanted to write edward out of the show, they could show him struggling with his old age, he’s slowing down and can’t take heavy trains anymore, he struggles to bank engines and wearing down. They could build this up to a finale where Edward has to decide whether he should retire or not. In the end he decides it’s best if he goes into preservation kind of like what happens to Gordon in the original books. It is now time for Thomas or Gordon to step up and be the mentor like Edward was.
Gordon could find this change jarring along with the arrival of Rebecca to help take the express with Gordon. Gordon now has to mentor Rebecca, Rebecca wants to please Gordon to a fault.
More Thomas mentoring Philip coupled with flashbacks to when Edward was mentoring him as a parallel
And finally, if they really need to write Henry out, they could just have him run longer trains to the mainland giving him a reason to stay at vicarstown.
Just some ideas on what I would’ve done if I were in charge of this era….
And I write Thomas fanfiction…
Great idea but Edward should have reduction in his workload and say he wouldn't trade his life on sodor for anything and listening to advice from Stephen and S&M engines that he shouldn't quit.

My least favourite episodes from this era would be:
1) Apology Impossible. Because James was being a complete and utter dick to Philip for no bloody reason!
And.....
2) Panicky Percy. Because Percy was just panicking about Thomas throughout all the episode!
Sure. Thomas Makes a Mistake is my least favourite international episode. But it's more tolerable and not as awful as the previous two!
Also, my theory for why Pinchy was featured in the fantasy sequence of What Rebecca Does despite not being featured in the episode is because maybe Rebecca met Diesel 10 offscreen.
Not a bad theory.

The problem is that in "The Missing Christmas Decorations", that's the last time we see Diesel 10. Maybe, he stays in the Vicarstown Dieselworks keeping an eye on Den and Dart.

Interesting list. My least favourite BWBA episode is Apology Impossible, Because of the way James treated Philip. Especially since in season 19, Philip saved James from falling. Plus James knows better. I know he’s vain, boastful and full of himself. But that is too far.

According to the online video "Still the Best of Friends", the official reason Henry relocated to Vicarstown was to be closer to his work, referring to his taking trains to the Mainland in Tale of the Brave and Journey Beyond Sodor. Also, according to Ian McCue, Henry was not originally going to be removed from the Steam Team and would have been present alongside Rebecca at Tidmouth Sheds, whereas it was always planned to remove Edward.

They could’ve made Rebecca be like a golden retriever type character personality wise, but with having her feel like she has to please everyone. That’s a flaw

Molly is a merchandise character and I'm surprised that she got a lot of cameos in season 9 to 11 and great discovery
I agree that “Thomas makes a mistake” is one of the worst BWBA episodes ever. How many times has Thomas made a mistake in the show? FAR TOO MANY TIMES! This era gets worse and worse to the point where I just stopped watching these episodes all together, and the messages were poorly executed. Nia and Rebecca could be good characters if executed better. Or just bring in old female characters like Rosie and Molly into Tidmouth Sheds. What’s the point of creating new characters if they just look the same as the rest?
What they planned to do with Rebecca in season 21 seemed like the right thing.

Its a shame that Rebecca never got the chance to encounter Diesel 10, because the creators thought Diesel 10 was scary as hell, so they have no choice but to kill him off and gave Molly 2.0 just Pinchy along with Harvey's crane arm, Marion's shovel, and Belle's water cannons

I’ll try to get around to that eventually, but I’m not going to promise anything at the moment because I will be on vacation for two weeks this month.
"Thomas Makes a Mistake" is NOT a good episode. But you know, I realized that the main problem this whole time was that the idea of Thomas not needing help and then needing it later was already a concept done before many times. It's not a bad concept, but it could have been a different character for that role than just Thomas learning the same thing again and again. It's not a horrendous episode (okay, it is NOT THAT horrendous), but it's certainly mediocre. Only for the overused trope of Thomas not needing help becoming a cliched plot point at this point. I understand that Thomas is new to a country that he has never been new at working there before, but he has a driver and fireman for Lord's sake! They could just help him out solve his own problems instead of letting him do that himself!
But you know what? The mistakes Thomas makes in that episode are easily forgiven because all what Thomas was doing was try to fix the mistake he made, and not do nothing about it until the last minute. Isn't that something we should all consider ourselves grateful for? It's not like in Seasons 12-16 (the dark ages) where in most of the episodes Thomas is the lead role in, Thomas causes all these mistakes to happen mostly on purpose and does nothing about solving them until the last two minutes. Can you really blame him there unlike the former? Oh, and had this episode been set back on Sodor, I would have hated this so much more just like everyone else.
I don’t really blame Thomas or the writers.
@@DodotheWishFanboyIt's mostly Thomas. I know he let one single distraction cause him to make a mistake, but had this episode been set back on Sodor than in India, it would have been a lot worse than anyone would think.

Finally, someone agrees with me on Too Loud Thomas
The only BWBA episodes that I genuinely enjoy are Michael White’s episodes.
In my headcanon tidmonth sheds will have extra berths this takes after the fastest red engine after james was sent to the steamworks and after the fat controller fix the berth that james crash into the fat controller decided to add two more berths to the sheds because he has purchased another engine this being rebecca to work on the mainline and help gordon with the express.
In this version rebecca will be introduced in season 21 and she will have flaws and troubles while pulling express and soon after gordon respect rebecca now after saving him from a accident the fat controller will say that rebecca will be staying in tidmonth after redemming herself from her past incidents.
And after big world big adventures nia will have problems like she dislikes snow and adding counting in nia but rewrite it better and soon after she will be later on staying at tidmonth sheds now.
And that is my version of how nia and rebecca will introduced in a properway.
My problem with Chucklesome Trucks, Rebecca learns how to deal with trucks too quickly, like how Nia learned how to count too quickly. Surely even Edward had trouble with trucks when he first used them. I also didn’t like how they treated James, Thomas, and Percy in that episode.
But at least we got some CGI recreations of random classic episode as well as stock footage from TAB.
“Forever & Ever” is the worst episode in my opinion.

I would say that my least favorite Big World Big Adventures episode would be Diesel Glows Away. That episode made me very annoyed. And I would say that Thomas Makes a Mistake would be my second least favorite episode.

I don't try to be unfriendly, but at the No. 4, I actually laughed loudly. The dreaming sequence makes it bad, but overall it could have been a moral decent episode. The solution in the end actually helped me parcially curing from my depressions!😑

As someone who enjoys Sesame Street (currently it's my favorite show period), "Counting on Nia" is horrendous. At least Sesame Street teaches about numbers in a way that doesn't dumb down the audience, and the characters are not Mary Sue's and actually have flaws. "Counting on Nia", on the other hand, dumbs down the child audience, and Nia is a Mary Sue whose only flaw is not being able to read English numbers.
From what I was taught in school, the numbers she was reading were technically Arabic, which is the universal way of looking at numbers. There are different ways of writing numbers, but this one is universal and more well-known because those are what we’ve been taught to in schools.
@@TrevortheTrainFan that is something I always forget. I only said English numbers because I remember James A. Williams saying in one of his videos that those numbers are not the same ones from Kenya, and that this is something people from there have a harder time comprehending when moving to an English-speaking country like the United Kingdom.

I don't know. I kind of liked that episode in terms of its message about learning to apologize.

Imagine if the search and rescue team had the same situation the steam team had from forever and ever in another episode.
I don't mind the fantasy sequence because they are in the imagination and for comedy and remember that imagination scene in a grand day out, no one complained about that and it was funny.
Calling All Engines and Sticky Toffee Thomas also had fantasy sequences too. Also what is a Grand Day Out? I don’t remember that being an episode.

They should have had more with Gordan's brother and maybe an episode with Gordan coming in terms of being the little brother.

Why, Bash? Forever and Ever is only one of many controversial BWBA episodes. The key word is controversial here.
Fun fact: Thomas's Animal Friends is a last episode according to google. before it was cancelled and maks it a SHITTY AND CRAPPY ALL ENGINES GO SERIES.
It really upsets me that Mattel added two new female characters that in my opinion could’ve had so much potential, but Mattel said screw it, let’s tick off the fans instead and give girls a bad name amongst the Thomas community. I swear if I owned the series instead of Mattel, I’d expand Tidmouth sheds and ad Nia and Rebecca instead of replacing two very popular characters that have been their since the beginning, also I’d give these characters a far better character arc than what Mattel made. Ex: freight traffic increases in Tidmouth and Knapford, so they need a new shunting tank engine, Nia. Express trains get longer and heavier, so they need a new engine to help Gordon, Rebecca. SEE MATTEL, ITS NOT THAT HARD TO MAKE GOOD CHARACTERS AND EPISODES, OR EVEN KEEP OLD CHARACTERS AND BRING IN NEW ONES TO JOIN THE ORIGINAL TEAM. GO SCREW YOURSELF MATTEL!!!

Oh. And THANK GOD you didn't put Trusty Trunky in the worst episodes because I consider that episode as my all time favourite episode in this era (and the entire show as a whole).
I Actually Like Some of These Episodes. But I Have To Agree On Forever and Ever, Too Loud Thomas, The Water Wheel, and Thomas Makes a Mistake. But My Worst BWBA Episode Is Too Loud Thomas. 2:53 Actually, a Mary Sue is an overpowered female character. Most people think Rey’s a Mary Sue, yet Rey DOES have a character flaw. She constantly dwells on her parents. If most people are dumb enough to think that didn’t even exist or it not being a flaw, then I’ve officially lost all hope in humanity.
But that's still not enough to make Rey interesting. Heck, even Ariel from the Little Mermaid has her flaws, and that's what makes her more interesting than Rey!
Still, a Mary Sue can either be a character with no flaws or an overpowered character or both. It just depends on the context.
