    I love all the Melanin HC products - only the twist cream is just too heavy for a twist out. I like it for just twists though

    I love everything Naptural85 has😂. I have high porosity hair and find that there’s nothing like the melanin hair care line. I use the leave in when my hair is soak and wet, and it’s like heaven. My curls are defined and the hair is soft and manageable. I can go on and on about her products because I love them so much. IM A FAN FOR LIFE!!!!!

You are absolutely right that the Melanin haircare line is a beautiful collection which works like MAGIC on natural hair! Did you notice that you needed a lot of product for your hair though (with the leave-in? Or was that just me? Either way, I love Whitney so I'll always be buying more!!!! Lol!

    Melanin conditioner is very good. I've used it in the past and had nice results. It was gifted to me since my brother works at Sally Beauty, but $30 for a conditioner is pretty steep, so I never purchased it. 😢

    For me, whatever product I use as a prepoo, I have to assume that I will need a lot of product. That is true no matter if I spritz it first and whatever product type I use - liquid, oil, cream, etc. That is why I do not use my expensive products as a prepoo. I usually stick to my DIY concoctions, either coconut oil or aloe vera. I use any leave-ins after condtioning and before my styling products. For Melanin hair care, I am a fan of the elongating cream as a moisturizer. I am going to buy their travel size pack so that I can experiment with several of their products.

    • @FineNaturalHairROCKS
      @FineNaturalHairROCKS  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ohhh this is a great point!!! My hair was crazy dry when I applied this so it makes sense that more product was needed. I’ve been using whatever has slip from my collection to do my pre poos as well but since the product had the “1 product does all” claim, I thought I would give it a try and it did not disappoint!! 😍😍

    Now I need to give it a try ASAP! So happy they're at Sephora because I've always wanted to try the line. I think it's fairly priced compared to similar products on the market. I'm going to revisit Melanin when I have room in my stash. I tried the leave in and styling cream when it was first released. I wasn't impressed, but I think that was on me. I wasn't as familiar with my fine hair. I love Whitney. Her kitchen concoctions saved my hair back in 2012.
    I prefer the Oyin juices and berries over the Greg and Frank juices. I definitely plan to purchase the large size in black Friday. I have quite a few Oyin products in my stash.

    Hey girl! I’ve been using the Melanin Hair Care products for a few years now. I spray my hair with water and apply the oil to detangle before washing. The shampoo I use when my hair needs a really good cleanse. The conditioner I use to further detangle in the shower and as a rinse out. My hair feels so nice and soft after that process. I just don’t find it as moisturizing as a leave-in. Overall great products. 😊

    I’m over here eyeing that Frank juice though! I need to know more about that. I know they also had one called Greg juice. I’m not sure of the difference between the two, but I’ve been looking for a good, light moisturizing spray. Is this spray strictly to add moisture, sort of like a curl refresher? Is it worth the money to you? Would you repurchase it? Have you tried the Greg juice from Oyin? (Sorry for all of the questions sis 😂)

    • @FineNaturalHairROCKS
      @FineNaturalHairROCKS  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey beautiful Curlfriend! 🤗 No worries about the questions - they are fantastic ones! 😍🙌🏾 I actually did a full review on the Oyin Handmade products once upon a time but I think it’s time for a refresher! 💃🏾😆 In a nutshell, it’s a fantastic product! It’s a very nice curl refresher which is perfect for imparting moisture on the hair. I think it’s worth the money and I’ve repurchased it several times. I would even say it’s become a staple at this point in my hair care journey! 😍 I’ve tried all of Oyin’s refreshers and they pretty much perform the same way but they just smell different. I hope this helps! 💛💛💛

    I just tried the styling cream which are usually too heavy for my fine strands and the leave in condish. I am a wash n go girl only but I have been trying twist outs with these products. I only like the products with a blown out twist out but only lasted for 24 hours! I like the cream but if I use it in a wash n go, I only get 48 hour results. So I want to love the products but just haven’t found a way to make them work well for me.

      Good to know! I don't do wash n gos as much but I love a good twist out/braid out. I haven't tried the styling creme yet but I have it, so it's definitely on my radar to try next. We'll see how it goes! Hopefully my twist out/braid out will last longer than 48 hours, lol!

    4:29 all the ingredients look great &
    Pro:
    NO COCONUT OIL ! YAY!
    Cons:
    Cetcaryl Alcohol
    Diheptyl Succinate
    Wheat Protein and Hops
    Explalnation:
    - I wish that brands would stop putting alcohols in products for type 4 hair.
    Even the smallest dot or drop of any type of alcohol is sure to dry my hair out.
    Companies out there, please find another perservative/cleanser. I know some researchers say
    it is okay and gentle but low porosity hair/dry and sensitive skin does not do well with ANY alcohol.
    - the Diheptyl Succinate, will cause build up and in some case flakes on my type 4 hair and its scalp which many
    people in general have over active sebaceous glands that will eat that up and poop it right out
    with excessive amounts of build-up and a wash day that only will last about two days.
    - Wheat Protein, Also the seborrheic dermatitis will eat up the wheat protein.
    - Various Acids, I am not sure about putting acids on my low porsity type 4 hair with sensitive skin/scalp
    Content creators: a great idea do videos/series on common ingredients found in hair products for black women then we can make more educated decisions on what products work for our own hair types.
    I know myself. Just like I know if I eat ramen during that time of the month, I will get a stomach ache or can tell by the smell of food if it will make me sick, I know by looking at the back of a product if it will dry my hair out. For me it was trial and error but I hope this new wave of natural hair bloggers will really educate their customers so they won't become product junkies and waste their hard earned cash on products that will flake (no pun intended.) I feel like we would get better products from brand because of it.
    thank you for you review. I appreciate you diving deeper than most.

      All hair types is madeup of protein,there's nothing like protein sensitive hair
      The alcohol found in the product are for conditioning,they don't dry out the hair

    • @uberhaute_naturalz84
      @uberhaute_naturalz84 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These alcohols are long chain therefore, they are fatty and are meant to soften and condition/smooth frizz unlike short chain alcohols that are volatile i.e are meant to evaporate/dry out within seconds and they are usually used in Natural hair products to dissolve products that are solidified or are in products that are meant to dry quickly such as hair sprays.
      You can check Incidecoder and cosmetics info for more information on these ingredients.🤗

      @@Cathie30 I find As I Am Classic Leave-In Conditioner, Dr. Miracles Leave-In Treatment very lightweight.
      Camille Rose Aloe Butter Gel is creamy yet lightweight for my dense coarse hair.
      Eden Bodyworks Coconut Shea Leave-In is also very lightweight.
      The most important thing is to know the ingredients that offset anything on your scalp. I dont apply anything on my scalp because it makes me squirm
