    Hey everyone! I meant to include this in some text in the video, but I’ll put it here instead. The conclusion I make about the cases is the video is correct. The Magic Keyboard for the 11” iPad Pro is 580g and the Combo Touch for the 11” is 474g. So the Combo touch is about 100g lighter! And it’s exactly 100g lighter when compared to the previous version the Combo Touch for the 11”. Sorry if it felt like a little silly in the video without any exact details, hope this helps!

    Why won't they just make a side protector case for the iPad Magic Keyboard?! That's the real issue is that there are no protection for the sides.

    • @Graf-XTechReviews
      @Graf-XTechReviews  หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are companies that do actually make cases like that. Where they basically just protect the sides. I’d recommend you look into that

    Thanks for the video. It reinforces my decision to go with the Magic Keyboard. I had the Logitech on my old iPad and the track pad activating due to the bendy keyboard was a real issue. I tried the new Magic keyboard at the Apple Store and really liked it. The extra charging port was an added plus. I did go with the black model, but I’ve found that although it does seems to get dirty, it also cleans up pretty easily, so I’m good with that. Again, thanks for the comparison.

      That’s awesome! I’m really glad that this video helped you to know you made the right choice! and yes I do have the black model with the larger iPad I have and the cleaning of it is manageable, I think it cleans better then the material that Logitech uses even.

    I kept the Combo touch because it's better for handwriting notes. You don't need to detach it to write notes comfortably

      Yeah that’s definitely true! For me the major dealbreaker is I got too dependent on the charging port 😂

    Combo Touch sucks for long term usage, the rubber edges of the case will stretch out and separate form back only several months in use. It happened to mine (iPad 10.2 version) and I switched to Apple’s Smart Keyboard cover and it’s so far so good.

    • @Graf-XTechReviews
      @Graf-XTechReviews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for sharing! Yeah I’ve definitely seen those rubber edges get stretched out before, but I’ve had one for almost 3 years before and even with the rubber somewhat stretching, the iPad stayed in well and everything worked. So it does slightly depend, but you’re right that Apple’s keyboards will hold up better

    • @rorywalters1614
      @rorywalters1614 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Graf-XTechReviewsYeah the iPad would still stay in the case firmly, but those deformed edges really makes it unpleasant to hold when using it in tablet mode. Plus the older models got those super thick cases which was already unpleasant to hold.

    Good review, however all depends not the user use 25:37 cases. The Logitech is much more versatile for me as I typically use it is a tablet without the keyboard attached for video consumption, reading or reading emails that just need to be deleted if nothing material. Assume the Magic Keyboard may be materially better if you your iPad as a laptop replacement and hard core typing. If I had the Magic Keyboard then I would need 2 cases.

    • @Graf-XTechReviews
      @Graf-XTechReviews  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah that makes a lot of sense! I agree if you mostly are using it in tablet mode and don’t want a second case, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing. It definitely depends on use case

    Great review, just subscribed! dont see much comparisons especially for the 11 inch versions so this was a welcome video. Have one inquiry, usually its a direct buy for me for the magic keyboard, had the previous gen, but the logitech one had me curious mainly bec i want to use my ipad pro 11 more of a tablet so the back case for logitech where you can adjust infinite angles with the keyboard not attached seems great, and the keyboard just becomes optional. So is the logitech sturdy enough with its stand to use it on a daily basis similar to the built in kickstand of the surface line? Is the case not too bulky? Thanks in advance 😊

    • @Graf-XTechReviews
      @Graf-XTechReviews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I would say the case is study enough, but obviously only time will tell. The part that doesn’t seem as durable is the material around the stand’s hinge, it just already seems a little worn even after such short amount of time, but again its hard to know how it’ll hold up in the long run. As for as too bulky, I’d say it was just slim enough to be tolerable for me. I’m also very hard to please when it comes to bulky cases 😂 but it’s also pretty light so that definitely helps. Hopefully that was useful and I didn’t make it even more confusing!

  • @asm4864
    @asm4864 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I think you forgot to mention the fact that the Magic Keyboard is ‘top heavy’ and has a tendency to tip over, due to all the weight being in the iPad whereas the combo has the kick stand that eliminates the problem.

    • @Graf-XTechReviews
      @Graf-XTechReviews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on where you have it. If it’s on your lap then I would say that the combo touch is just as if not more inconvenient to use and unstable. But on a desk you’re right, it is not as top heavy. That’s actually a good point, it’s something that totally should’ve been mentioned. Thanks for your feedback! That helps me to improve going forward!

    Great video! I have one question though as I notice you have the nano texture. Does the logitech combo touch’s keys touch the iPad’s screen when it is closed, or is there a small gap? On Apple’s website, they mention that the combo isn’t meant for the nano texture so I’m wondering if there is a gap or not

    • @Graf-XTechReviews
      @Graf-XTechReviews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From what I can tell, the keys don’t make direct contact with the iPad itself, but it is a little hard to tell. I did use it for over a week on my Nano-Texture iPad and it had no negative effects! Great question! Hope that helps!

  • @thisiserich

    I love the magic keyboard but its just not versatile at all. You either have it on the ipad or you don't. For instance, if I want to use my ipad flat on a table to take handwritten notes on or to draw, I can't do that with just the ipad itself due to the camera bump. I can't do that with the magic keyboard attached because, well, obviously. The logitech case gives you a flat back to where you can do that, but it also has that built in kickstand that can give you an easel like experience on a table, again, you can't do that with the magic keyboard.
    My gripe with the logitech is that the design is sort of wonky in nature. It's good, but I feel like Logitech could learn a lot from looking at how Apple designs products. When you close the keyboard on the Logitech it can and does still slide around a bit due to the hinge being that bendable cloth-like material. Thats a minor annoyance. That same hinge mechanism makes it difficult for lapability as well. Its not impossible to use the logitech on your lap, but the magic keyboard is a lot easier despite it having problems with tipping over.
    I also wish the Logitech didnt just straight up cut out a part of the case for apple pencil charging, they could have made that portion very thin and it would work just fine. Tons of cases are like that and they work great, so I'm not really sure why the design was done with a big cutout.
    Another thing that is hard to make sense of is the trackpad. It works great, but why would they make the whole thing kind of flimsy and produce those huge cracks between the chassis and the trackpad itself? I know logitech knows how to make a trackpad like the Apple ones, so they should have done that. Again, the trackpad is nice, and it works well, it just feels so awkward at first with how it moves.
    Overall the Logitech is as close to what I want in a versatile case for the ipad pro. Its a really good combination of using it as a laptop and in tablet mode. I guess thats why its called the Combo case. Apple designs things without durability in mind. They don't think things through all the time unless it has to do with money. What they want you to do is by the magic keyboard AND the folio case and carry all of that around and swap the ipad in and out of multiple cases for different things. I would have been all over the magic keyboard if it came with a case for the ipad that then attached to the keyboard, so you could grab the ipad off the keyboard and do something else with it quickly.
    And yes, there are slim cases that exist that advertise that they work with the magic keyboard, but they don't work very well. I have tried two different brands and neither allowed the keyboard to close and stay shut. You have to hold the magic keyboard shut when using one of these slim cases "compatible" with the magic keyboard. Holding it shut like that will 100% cause something to bend over time, and that ain't good.
    The Logitech wins for versatility and overall design in my book.

    • @Graf-XTechReviews
      @Graf-XTechReviews  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah that makes sense. And in a lot of ways, the Logitech almost won for me too! I do love the versatility! The worst part for me was the worse quality of materials and worse trackpad and the loss of the charging port which I used often enough to make it matter. If they fix the slight quality issues and find a way to add another port, I could overlook every other downside and pick that one for sure!

    I can tell you from experience the Magic Keyboard still does not protect your iPad worth a shit for that “premium” price. Why Apple figures you should buy the protection plan instead of adding a small amount of protection around the iPad like most other cases that aren’t Apple.

    • @Graf-XTechReviews
      @Graf-XTechReviews  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it’s definitely not super protective and it definitely could be better for that. Personally, I still like the Magic Keyboard and I don’t really like a lot of bulk around my iPad, but that’s totally a personal preference! I know that for a lot of people it makes sense to put a protective case around your expensive device. So yeah that is definitely a fair criticism
