I had my hands on this book in the late 80'S when I was in the military overseas I was going to steal it but it wasn't allowed in America that's a fact .

This kind of representations are nothing new: they were and they are very popular in western world. Every society depicts people (Including Christ) in its own way. Greek nubians realize icons showing black people in byzantine style (search Moses Georgios of Makuria or Bishop Petros). Artists from Ravenna realize mosaics showing white people (search Ravenna's mosaics). The same thing happens with Jesus: he can be depicted as a black man by Russians and as a white man by the Italian painter Tiziano.
People always think there is a hidden truth, but I only see different cultures representing people in different ways.

I just watched a video in which an image of a white St. George slays a dragon, is on the Russian Coat Of Arms flag....It has two separate meanings..(1) St George is slaying a dragon that was terrorizing a pagan town..or (2) St George defeated the Tartarians...and now Im seeing evidence of what I believe to be the original depiction of St George, a dark-skinned man....even tho their existence is controversially accepted, it's more feasible that St George defeated the Tartarians, than a dragon...thank you for sharing and enlightening. Icons are religious images painted on wooden panels, typically made of linden or pine wood. Their production is a long and complex process. A layer of linen cloth soaked in sturgeon glue is put on the panel. The ground is made of chalk mixed with fish glue. This is gesso. Up to ten layers of the gesso are applied over the cloth, or pavoloka . An outline of the composition is incised on the gesso with the point of a needle, often based on an icon-painting manual.
To prepare tempera paints, mineral pigments are mixed with water and egg yolk. The common minerals are cinnabar for reds, ochre (iron oxide) for yellows and lapis-lazuli for blues. Natural minerals give transparency to colors. Transparency is key in creating the effect of luminosity in icons. Light and dark tones of different thickness are brought one on top of the other, layer after layer. The white ground reflects light falling on its surface back through the semi-transparent tempera. The effect is that of inner light radiating from the image.
After painting is done an icon is varnished with boiled linseed oil, olifa. Russian artists added amber to their olifa. The linseed-amber varnish protects icons from scratches and gives them a deeper tone. But, after many years in a wood-heated church or in a candle-lit ‘red’ corner of a peasant hut, the varnish becomes very dark and obscures the image. In the early twentieth century, to clean the old varnish off the icon surface, restorers used fire to soften the olifa. They put a little alcohol on the surface of an icon and set it on fire. A restorer then was able to scrape off the olifa varnish and clean the icon.

I'm currently studying byzantine iconography, and I can tell you three things, it's true that the varnish darkens over time, but, it's also true that the images of Our Lord Jesus, the Most Holy Virgin Mary and the saints depicted are not especially white, but they're also not black, they're somewhere in the middle. The thing is, when we paint the base for the skin we use a dark brown color, kinda mixed with green, especially in the "shadow" areas, and then light is applied subsequently in layers, in most of these, since they're so old, you can notice they have lost most of those layers due to decaying. Well, I hope you can connect with the deeper meaning of these icons, which is quite far from the racial issue. Greetings!
I am orthodox from Serbia , and we also got "black Jesus and black saints" on icons and frescos , but reason for that is pure theological because from gospel we know about Jesus family lineage , and orthodox church in many cases represent Jesus and saints as what they were , JEWS or other mediterrenian people.
Jesus look and skin color from icons we can find today in every mediterrenian and middle eastern country , and that mean Syria,Palestine,Israel,Egypt,Marroco,Algeria,Greece(Balkan),Italy,Spain and Portugal.
If you ever visit an Orthodox church you will understand why the varnish darkens over time, it's because of the candles!

In relation to it being so obvious now that Jesus was/is black, I think I have also cracked the code regarding why we (the black race) are so often hated and despised throughout the whole world, and why it's gone on for centuries, even though, we have never done anything to anyone, for example, enslaved people on mass for over 400 years. We can clearly see from the paintings that have been discovered in the Russian vaults depict Jesus, and many other biblical characters as being black, but yet these paintings were 'hidden' from the world, and we were given a 'whitewashed' version of the Bible characters for thousands of years instead. I personally believe that, this information/paintings was never meant to come out or be shown to the world at any stage, which was why it was all put in the vaults in the first place. Furthermore, I personally believe that the people responsible for this were 'the power's that be' who also secretly know the 'truth' behind closed doors - only God knows what else they have 'hidden' in their vaults, and have chosen for it to remain secret until their agenda changes or they chose to bring it out, because they can no longer hide it anymore. Hence, the code I believe I have cracked in relation to Jesus being black (even though it's been hidden in plain sight) is this..., if Jesus is God's only begotten son, and Jesus is black, what colour might God - the creator or the heaven's and the earth be? After all, in the Bible book of Daniel, chapter 7 vs 9-10 (when Daniel is having a vision) it says: 'Daniel sees the Ancient of days (God) take his seat. The Ancient of Days clothing is like white snow, and his hair is like ...' I rest my case.
Are there 2 versions of this same book? because The one from Amazon Has that same book for sale by father vladimir ivanov, and NONE of those photos are in it. Nowhere online does it show that book for sale for $3k+ All of the photos are of people with European features, not one of them are black...And the only 2-3 people showing this black version are either on youtube or tiktok. Absolutely nowhere else. Also outside that one video speaking in russian there isn't a single person in russia reacting to any of this. Something isn't adding up about any of this. I already ordered the book so this is going to very interesting

The bible (as well as all religious text & philosophy) is such a mute & outdated issue & certainly not something to be concerned with the color or ethnicity of the characters. It is characature, symbolism, metaphors, & allegory that have evolved from spiritual principles of paleolithic humanity. In the regard, the bible is a compilation of anotomy, physiology, & cosmology of nature & the internal human. All these uncoverings & revealations of the path to elevation & transformation to a natural state of being in harmony with the ALL.❤💚💜

Brown would not exist without black. Black is the raw original product. When it is blended with white you get all of the shades in between , beige , teak , caramel , etc. Add to that the fact that the blends then procreate with other blends , which produce even more exotic looking humans. This has been going on for thousands of years. It's actually a good thing. The strongest genes are the diverse genes. The big problem we have on this planet is that some, but not all blended folks tend to deny their roots and try to segregate themselves from the very family that made their existence possible. The simple fact is that whether you are purely black or a blend we are still parts of the same family. We will only grow stronger with that understanding. Black is black no matter how you hybridize it .

There is no particular shade of African "black". We are mostly in varying shades of brown. The book clearly shows all typical African hues to Asiatic brown which would have been characteristic of the Levant region populations of the times.
