1925 - When Egypt was Black

  • 100 years ago, Egypt was a completely different nation. In contrast to the bustling metropolis cities that have become synonymous with this, now, 'Arab' nation that is dependent on it's tourist fuelled economy.
Back in 1925 however, we see an Egypt still steeped in the embers of ancient traditions, with the true descendants of the Kemetic culture still practising an ancient lifestyle in the same way, 4000 years after these practises were first etched in stone.
In this beautiful footage captured by the metropolitan museum of art, prior to the explosion of global interest in Ancient Egypt, and subsequent urbanisation of Cairo and Alexandria, much of the ancient Egyptian culture was under the custody of those indigenous southernmost Egyptians. Those black African Egyptians, who are today called the 'Nubian' Egyptians, were, in those days were not restricted to Aswan.
Modern Nubains state that, in these times, the dark skinned or black Egyptians never referred to themselves as 'Nubians'. But sadly, much like the wider global melenated populations, they have had this label thrust upon them by those desperate to benefit from this differentiation.
Indeed, they were, and remain, distinct from the mixed city dwelling populations due to their notable africanity, which is expressed in their pastoralist cultural practises, and a local penchant for adorning themselves in Gold. This was punctuated by their continuation of Nile valley practises that weren't reflected by the non-Kemetic populations, moving north of Aswan as one draws toward the delta region and Alexandria.
In this remarkable footage captured nearly one century ago, you will observe the undeniable preservation and continuation of ancient Egyptian tradition by its indigenous African population, who are modern times known as, the Nubians.

Some of the photography was made at the beginning 19th century in roaring Black and white. Whenever they showed places like Egypt, Palestine, Israel, all I can remember seeing was Black African people. That is what I saw and remember. These Arabs have no connection to these lands--they are still occupying our lands in the North of Africa--will we retrieve our lands back from them? that's the question and the answer is yes--we were promised that divine intervention would address these issues and we are getting closer to this time

He told me there are black people in Iran still living there who are indigenous to Iran (not brought there as slaves) and who have been there before the lighter skinned Iranians. When I started looking into the past of African Cultures, it was painfully obvious that the Egyptian representations were way off. Hello @Theking'sMonologue, Happy New Year.
I am from Nigeria, I've always heard the local ethnic groups especially the old ones talk about how we came from Egypt for some. I watched a documentary of someone talking about the history of migration and how the different tribes came and spread around Nigeria.
There's this ethnic group known as the Nup`e, I've noticed their language is probably the most connected to many of the tribes in Nigeria from the North and the South.
Just about a year ago I thought you all were spreading BS, I was annoyed and embarrassed even, until I was patient to watch a full video from Mister Imhotep. The video and the reality he gave were unarguable and too logical I continued to dig deep and coupled with some oral history I've always heard everything connected.
There's a reason all these truths are coming out now and becoming more popular, there's a reason the White-washed narratives and views about the world is falling flat and people trust Caucasians less and less. Indeed we are that generation, we'll see!

    • @Jack-Pi8ni

The alleged Caucasian ‘whitewashing’ of Egyptian story is a fairly recent tilling in historical terms. They weren’t a timeline twinkle, when the Mesopotamians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Persians, the Babylonians, the Ottomans and the Arabs were rampaging over these lands. The ancient black Egyptian ancestral connections have been whitewashed in the post Ottoman version of the near East Mediterranean region in the same way that Jewish links are being scrubbed.

It was so interesting as the languages, artworks, traditions, everything connected. I was young and even though I wasn't too interested this one stuck since, still I didn't start nor finish watching the documentary and I don't know why.

-)_IN FACT, THE 12 TRIBES ORIGINATED IN THAT REGION. WELL, UNTIL THE ARABS CAME BY BETWEEN -WELL, HERE ARE SOME FACTS
The initial Arab conquests are described and dated: Palestine and Syria (634-6); Persian Mesopotamia (636-40); northern Mesopotamia and south‐west Armenia (640); Khuzistan (640-2); Egypt (641-3); Iran (642-52).
These Arabs have no connection to these lands--they are still occupying our lands in the North of Africa--will we retrieve our lands back from them? that's the question and the answer is yes--we were promised that divine intervention will address these issues and we are getting closer to this time

Yes, they are. And I’ve seen them. They call themselves Egyptian, because that’s their nationality. However, ethnically and culturally they call themselves Kush.
And for this King Nonsense to claim that the Kush only live in Aswan is utter nonsense. Most Kushite Egyptians do live near the border with Sudan, but there’s plenty living in the northern cities, like Cairo and Alexandria too. They’re good people and many of them work as guides at Giza and Saqqara for the tourists. Some of them are really good archaeologists too!
Do they experience racism? Yes. And surprisingly from black American tourists, that claim to be the descendants of pharaohs.
