      @@black4pienus For example, these new discoveries and species:
      Tmesisternus floorjansenae - A beetle
      Sciophila holopaineni - A shadow loving Insect
      Tanidromites nightwishorum - A Species of Crab
      An hitherto unknown brittle star species that lived in the Cretaceous era named after Floor Jansen - Ophiomitrella Floorae.
      The Alpenglow Rockshelter - a prehistoric rockshelter discovered in Pennsylvania, USA which is located just a few hundred meters from the Council Rocks archaeoastronomy (Stonehenge-type) site from at least 1825 BC, some 4000 years before now.

    So ,... Eugene Merle Shoemaker (April 28, 1928 - July 18, 1997) was an American geologist. He co-discovered Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 with his wife Carolyn S. Shoemaker and David H. Levy. This comet hit Jupiter in July 1994: the impact was televised around the world. Shoemaker also studied terrestrial craters, such as Barringer Meteor Crater in Arizona, and along with Edward Chao provided the first conclusive evidence of its origin as an impact crater. He was also the first director of the United States Geological Survey's Astrogeology Research Program.
    He was killed in a car accident while visiting an impact crater site in Australia. After his death, some of his ashes were carried to the Moon with the Lunar Prospector mission.
    The spoken word in this is done by Tuomas Holopainen's Wife Johanna Kurkela ( a section from Romeo And Juliet is also carved Eugene's urn ).
    "Shoemaker" has become a favorite song of NASA's scientific community. Tuomas has a deep inclination towards science and this is reflected in many of his plays. This ensured the entry of Nightwish into the history books of science, several discoveries in the field being named after them. These new discoveries include: Alpenglow Rockshelter: Archaeological site named after Nightwish Song. Tanidromites Nightwishorun: New Crab species. Sciophila Holopaineni: New species of Mosquito found in Finland. Ophiomitrella Floorae: New species of Cretaceous brittle star named after Floor Jansen. Tmesisternus floorjansenae: new species of beetle named after Floor.
    Song from Human. :II: Nature and it is a Masterful Album !!!!
    NWSU 🤘😎🤘.

    That weird rhythm is a Shakespearean cadence and refers to the inscript on the capsule of Eugene's ashes which is the spoken part (by Tuomas' wife).

    • @jeffreyphipps1507
      @jeffreyphipps1507 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The spoken part is a quote from Romeo and Juliet.

    • @572Btriode
      @572Btriode ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe Shakespeare wrote in the iambic pentameter, groups of five. Romeo & Juliet was written in this style. But you're dragging me back to my school days, which would be around 1958/60. . . . . . . . . 🙂

    • @SandraMaschke
      @SandraMaschke ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am not good in counting, but the rhythm reminded me of Tschaikowsky's devil waltz (2nd set in his 6th symphony) and a few pieces by Michael Nyman (Tuomas seems to appreciate him aswell) which are written in 5/8. And this would suit Tuomas' way of thinking and composing... And was a wonderful throw back to my lessons in music in the late 70s and 80s 🤪

    Eugene Shoemaker and his wife were driving up in the far north of Australia when they were involved in an auto accident. Eugene was killed. His wife was almost killed but she did survive. His ashes were transported aboard NASA's Lunar Prospector Mission to the moon and left in a crater at the south pole.
    Nightwish band leader Tuomas Holopainen wrote this composition to pay tribute to the first ever planetary scientist.

    Under any normal circumstances the main body of Shoemaker would be a very good number. For so many of us it is merely the prelude to LAUDATO. Only Tuomas would compose a song to incorporate Shakespeare and Latin. OnlyFloor ensnares your very soul when she ‘goes operatic’. Love your reaction. Yes very easy for your emotions to take you over.

    I really enjoy your videos, I’ve missed you too. I admit if it isn’t Floor, Nightwish, or Epica I probably don’t see it, but like you, you are a good man, & appreciated by me, & most likely MOST! I love this entire concert, Floor was one happy woman to get back out there this past spring & summer. Pinkpop was Gr8 too, she did both a solo concert, & NW. Have you ever listened to her new singles? I think the album will be out this Spring. I hope she will get through this last bit of her health challenge. What a scare for all of us. Keep rocking!! ❤️🤘💥

  • @papaverweg
    @papaverweg ปีที่แล้ว

    This is also exactly why we love Nightwish so much.
    This song also seems to be largely about the person Eugene Shoemaker, Tuomas also inserts aspects from his discoveries. Such as Eugene’s interest in the objects that caused them, and set up a long-term research program. In this program his wife Carolyn showed a talent for discovering small differences on photographic plates. The search resulted in the discovery of 32 comets and 40 asteroids, most with orbits within Earth's. This search resulted in the discovery of Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 in 1993 and its impact on the planet Jupiter a year later. Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 (SL9 for short with official designation D/1993 F2) is a comet of which 21 fragments fell on the planet Jupiter between 16 and 22 July 1994. Some of those parts had a diameter of 2 kilometers.

    Yes, they played with timings and vocal types on this album.
    Look up what this song is about :) it's pretty cool. Then you will feel this song everytime you look at the moon!
    You should watch the lyric video for it. You can hear so much more in the mix.
    Also, Floor sounded not 100%. I wonder if the possible cancer diagnosis was looming while she was performing this concert. Nothing is worse than having a test & waiting to know if you might die.

    A challege for Floor to sing, odd phrasing, but she wins it.
    I think Floor should of backed away from the mic,
    with the voice over of Johanna (Mrs Holopainen),
    then come back, but it might affect her concentration.

    Floor sounds amazing as ever, but everything I hear of her lately feels like her vocals should be like 10-15% higher in the mix... or the instruments a bit lower. It's not her. it's whoever is doing the sound mixing. ••• Hand me that pair of pliers, Hannes. Thanks! PEACE!!!
