My theory is that Rayleigh was the strongest, but Mihawk defeated him and took his title. The vivre card datebook says Shanks sought out Mihawk, not the other way out, and I think it'd make sense if it was because Mihawk defeated one of Shanks's mentors

There's also the implication that another child was on Roger's ship at one point because during the Oden flashback Roger and Reighly (sorry If I misspell) were holding momonosuke and Hiyori and Roger states, "I haven't spent time with a baby in ages" in which Rayleigh (again Idk) replies with "Reminds me of the old days." So either there was another child on Roger's ship at one point or this was referring to Shanks and or Buggy. When asked about it in an sbs Oda played it off with "Did I say that?! Just ignore it! *whistle noises*"
I think Rayleigh was Mihawk's mentor and the one who trained him to swing sharp things on Rusukaina because when he went to train Luffy he seemed well versed on the island even the way he said to Boa " take us to that island:", so we could almost definitely say that he did the same thing a while ago. maybe to pass down the title of the strongest swordsman?
Mihawk is such a mysterious character i cant wait to learn more about him. Hopefully in One Piece Movie Red we’ll learn more about his backstory and character in general. And hopefully see him having more interactions with the straw hats

No, see, Mihawk was actually hatched out of the giant egg that Roger's crew were carting around. He's a dragon who ate the hito hito model vampire. Hence 'Dracule', which comes from dragon and also refers to dracula, and why he wears a big broad hat all the time to keep the sun off. He's called Mihawk because when he hatched out he was raised by a pirate with a hook hand and a strong accent whose hook hand he kept biting onto, and the regular cries of 'mi hawk!' (my hook) stuck as a name they all started calling him.
The winner would have to be Meevil, going off of the moustache = power power scale Meevil would have the bigger moustache and therefore would have the most power. While there aren't exact measurements of Meevil and Wihawks moustaches to compare the heights of some characters who look really similar are 6'6 and 22'3 respectively making me be able to safely assume Meevil has the bigger stache.
Oda in sbs confirmed that Rayleigh,Shanks, Roger and some other characters were swordsmen. What's the point of Rayleigh being the world greatest swordsman if there is a swordsman stronger than him(Roger). For me it's illogical. In the roger flashback rayleigh said 'its nice to have another child on board' or something along those lines while talking about momonoske, which made me think he had a child.. Also shanks is 4-5 years younger than rayleigh depending on the month so it makes sense that Rayleigh would have already dropped his kid off to safety before the rest of their journey. I've thought mihawk was his son for a while especially the fact they've never even acknowledged eachother in the story
Between Mihawk and Weevil I’m very confident the winner would be Mihawk. Sorry to Stephan for dissing his mustache but I think Mihawk would not even intentionally kill his mother and Weevil would have no idea how to fight without her. Dracule Wihawk vs Edward Meevil would be an interesting fight, but I would put my money on Wihawk. They were both once warlords, meaning their level of power are roughly equal to characters like Caw (the boy who was saved by Lorazon), Zuma (the tyrant who spared Roronoa Koro), Guggy (the clown who is believed to be a Bod) and many many more. However, Wihawk is the only one of the two to have fought against Lhanks (the man who gave Suffy, our protagonist, his iconic straw hat).

Unpopular Opinion: Mihawk isn’t the greatest swordsman! ….and never was. He spent his life battling Shanks hoping to become to greatest. Until one day Shanks gave the title away with the loss of his arm. Leaving Mihawk, pissed he didn’t earn it the way he envisioned. So Mihawk traveled the east blue, in search of Shanks so that he could find out why? Upon meeting Zoro, Luffy and the crew Mihawk began to understand. He did it for the next generation of pirates. I believe Mihawks case is he did it for the next ‘Greatest Swordsman’ (Obviously Mihawk reminds me of Endeavor 🔥)
Its unpopular because its not true. Mihawk states he is the greatest swordsman. Shanks was not a yonko when he was fighting mihawk since he only became a yonko after losing his arm. That means shanks got stronger even after losing his arm. Shanks might be the stronger fighter but he is not the better swordsman. Mihawk is just way more skilled. Besides theres no confirmation that shanks is not a devilfruit user and based on his travel feats id say he is.

We haven’t really seen Edward Meevil’s true power since he is barely shown and seen in the anime while Mihawk has been shown to fight commanders and even shanks once before and the fact that Mihawk survived a fight with shanks who was probably in his prime and came out unscathed is pretty remarkable to say the least. Edward Meevle might be Whitebeards son but I would give it to Mihawk.

The jacket/cloak used as a way to recognise the world's greatest swordsman would kind of make sense to me because of at least one other fictional anime that uses the same code: Afro Samurai. 8 people each wearing a unique bandana on them, from 8 being the lowest down to 1 being the best swordsman in the world. And when the bearer of a bandana is defeated/killed, well, you know the drill right?
Weevil is definitely strong (at least strong enough to become a warlord despite his claim to fame as Whitebeard's son is disputed), but Mihawk is an old rival of a current yonko whom he know longer wishes to fight because said yonko lost an arm. Mihawk wins that fight easily.
Dracule Mihawk wins because so far, we haven't seen much of Meevil, but I think Mihawk is stronger because he is the World's Strongest Swordsman and Meevil is just Whitebeard's self-proclaimed son which we don't know for sure if that's true. Mihawk is also Yonko level and we know that because he has fought shanks before and survived without losing any body parts.
Okay that is a lot of bad narrative, first off: Shanks and MIhawk fought long before Shanks ever entered Emperor status. And even to this day, Mihawk sees no challenge with Shanks missing an arm. Second: Comparing anything to "Yonko Level" is absurd and has no actual meaning. Being an Emperor of the sea is more of a notoriety concept than an actual power level. We don't know Mihawk's Haki level - what Haki he can use - nor his full combative ability. We can theorize he has armament and observation, but no conqueror's haki has ever been displayed. Neither have we seen all of what SHanks can do either. Nor do we even know what their clashes looked like when they dueled. To compare a feat that has no ground to say someone is "Yonko Level" is just bad conjecture. Remember, even someone as pathetically weak as Buggy can become a Yonko if his fame and territory grows. We know Buggy cannot fight on ANY LEVEL near his own crew. Yet he can become a Yonko.
I think mihawk would absolutely clobber weevil, we have never even seen the extent of mihawks abilities and it is heavily implied he would beat zoro, who I imagine would beat weevil, not only that, he was said to have been shank’ rival who is an emperor, it would be crazy if weevil managed to beat mihawk. Also, just look at the guy, he lives with literal baboons, how could he not win?

Edward Meevil would definitely have a buff due to the fact that he has Hawkeye’s hawk eyes, which must be some sort of huge bonus, but Dracula Weehawk would win because he has Mihawk’s hawk eyes, Mihawk’s trained body, and Weevil’s mustache, which I believe to be the source of Weevils incredible power. Meevil has the mustache too but doesn’t have the overpowered Hawkeye body to go with the eyes.
There's another problem with the Mihawk is Rayleigh and Shakky's child. Shakky comes from Amazon Lily. It is impossible for her to give birth to any other gender than female. So unless Mihawk is trans, which I highly doubt is possible without Ivankov and that Oda had even though of the idea, Mihawk is for sure not Shakky's child. But that does not mean Mihawk is not Rayleigh's child. Shakky did say that Rayleigh tried to 'get along' with other girls when the crew met her in saobody for the first time. So, it's entirely possible Mihawk is Rayleigh's son but not Shakky's

Between Mihawk and Weevil I'd say Mihawk wins. There's hardly any prowess that we've seen more than what we've heard from both, but the title of the strongest swordman goes a long way. Just see that King might be a contender too and then it starts to jump pretty fast on the power level scale. Based on no evidences whatsoever I personally think that Weevil could beat Queen but not King, for instance.
I think it’d actually be REALLY close, no matter who wins. Meevil’s strength was said to be equal to the that of the famous Whitemoustache in his prime, while Wihawk is the greatest knifesman in the world. Now, while Whitemoustache’s power has actually never actually been weighed against Wihawk’s, due to Phoenix Jozu stopping his knife-stab from even hitting him, we can assume it’s at least slightly above Wihawk’s, maybe even leagues above. But, while Meevil does have Whitemoustache’s strength, he, unlike Whitemoustache, is an idiot. We’re talking probably missing brain-parts level idiot. Though we haven’t actually seen him in battle so who knows? Maybe he was optimized for fighting and becomes hyper-intelligent when entering combat. But enough tip-toeing, who wins? I would like Mihawk to win but realistically Weevil would probably beat him especially if he finds out that Mihawk took part in a battle where his ‘dad’ took part in. Weevil strength is strangely underestimated I think 🤔

Dracule Mihawk is the strongest swordsman in the world. He's probably the strongest out of the current shichibukai. However, this is with the caveat that we aren't yet sure about just how strong Edward Weevil is. He has been compared to a young Whitebeard. This means that he might even be stronger than Mihawk. Mihawk is on a whole different level when it comes to speed and I think this would be the cause of Weevil's loss.
Mihawk by a mile. We haven't had a lot of Edward fighting and he seems to be the unstoppable brute force type opposed to Mihawk's technique and skill. Mihawk would pick him apart over time.

I was pretty neutral on this whole thing until Liam brought up that line from Luffy that the pirate king should have the greatest swordsman on his crew. In retrospect that really does set up that Roger probably had that as well.
Mihawk wouldn't have been the world's greatest swordsman back then seeing as he's the same age as Shanks, it's also theorised that Oden fulfilled that role already.
There is some hiden logic about the "jacket/cloak" thing... Oda in the past worked for the autor of Rurouni Kenshin Nobuhiro Watsuki, and in Rurouni Kenshin when Kenshin become the master of Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū the old master Hiko Seijūrō XIII offers his CLOAK to Kenshin saying that the cloak represents that he becomes the master of Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū, and gues what, the cloak is realy similar as the one Mihawk uses, so, as far as we can espaculate about that, being Himura Kenshin one of the greatest swordsman in manga, and the history of Rurouni Kenshin being about swordsmans at all, and Oda being a formely assistant of Nobuhiro Watsuki, THIS MAKE MUCH MUCH MUCH SENSE! In a way of carring something from Rurouni Kenshin to One Piece as a kind of tribute to Nobuhiro Watsuki.

Dracule Wihawk would destroy Edward Meevil if they were to fight. Why? Because whilst Edward Meevil is dressed in chains and stitches(probably as a result of losing to Wihawk), Wihawk is sitting down, newspaper in hand, knowing everything about the world. Dracule Wihawk will be able to scheme and beat Meevil no matter what he tries, outsmarting him at every turn. I think the only chance Meevil would have it to use his spendid Moustache inherited from his dad Edward neMgate, but I believe Wihawk could get rid of that immediately. In summary, Wihawk wins.
Based on recent manga events (spoilers) Mihawk should be above yonkou level in terms of power. Given that Zoro defeated King with relative ease (he was dying during the fight, so in normal conditions he would've won more easily) i think right now he has like a 30-40% chance of defeating a younkou 1vs1, and by the end of the series he will be even stronger. So it only makes sense that Mihawk is stronger than a yonkou because otherwise it wouldn't make sense for him to be Zoro's final enemy.
Ever since Whitebeard said Mihawk and Shanks had daily duels, the thought of them being former 1 & 2 crewmates has stuck in my head. How else would they have the duels, same boarding school?

It's definitely wihawk, he is on par with shanks and that is more than enough to justify it. The thing is Meevil aren't even doing his leg day (joke), and he's pretty much still childish. Even tho they say that meevil is as strong as whitebeard on his younger days, meevil still doesn't have wb's df, so technically its just wb's strength, which is admirable, but he's fighting wihawk so he need skills not just brute force. And I'm certainly sure that he doesn't have a conquerors haki. While wihawk have a big chance to have it, because how can he keep up with shanks if shanks knew it and he doesn't.

Hi ! I'd like to spread confusion all over the fandom. The coat representing the "lord of the sword" title seems plausible, however Roger's main weapon was a first class sword, and he was able to fight Whitebeard while using it most of the time. If there was a "lord of the sword" before, it was Roger, not Rayleigh. Rayleigh is not likely to be the former strongest swordsman, unless he was even stronger than his captain.

He fights with a sword and has sword techniques, can coat his sword with coa and coc like top swordsmen like Oden or Zoro, has tamed a first class meito sword (and we know that meito swords choose swordsmen worthy of them) and doesn't use bombs, or anything else. It's pretty clear he's a swordsman.
As far as the duel between Dracule Wihawk and Edward Meevil, I believe it’ll be a draw, as they are both as much the world’s greatest swordsman as they are “Whitebeard’s son”, leading them to become stalemated
Mihawk wins just due to sheer insane badassness, have we ever really see him break a sweat? Even in the marineford war he casually threw out an attack at whitebeard “just to test him” or whatever words he used. Have we actually seen the extent of his true power? Zoro is so insanely powerful that we have to keep nerfing him and I don’t believe he’s better then mihawk YET, by the end he will be but as for now I think Mihawk could beat Zoro 10/10 times they fought and I think zoro would beat weevil so Mihawk would dummy weevil and make him look like the child he is mentally.
I believe Meevil would win against Wihawk because of a few things Wihawk uses the sword Yoru which is a Saijo grade blade and Mihawk has turned the blade into a Black Blade Wihawk from what we know was able to hold his own against the Yonko Shanks where their battles echoed throughout the Grandline Wihawk is well trained and an expert in Armament Haki and is a good user of Observation Haki Wihawk has been able to take down entire fleets of Marines and Pirates on his own Wihawk has yet to have been harmed by any character in the show ever since the start of it Wihawk has amazing speed and sight being able to keep up with a Gear Second Luffy Wihawk has superhuman strength being able to cut entire warships in half and mountains of ice WIhawk has amazing Swordsman skills unparalleled by anyone currently alive in the One Piece verse Wihawk doesn't need to have someone to tell him what to do he does what he wants ------------------------------------------------------------------ Meevil uses a blade how ever it's not ranked along with him not having very good skills with the blade Meevil has been able to destroy 16 pirate crews Meevil uses both forms Haki but he has no where near Mihawk levels of Haki who has been able to turn his sword Yoru into a Black Blade Meevil doesn't do things on his own he has to have his 'mother' tell him what to do
My theory: Rocks was the previous user of Luffy’s gum gum fruit or at least had it in his possession. It would explain WHY the world government wanted to guard it and the fact Rocks was essentially erased from history would explain why majority of people (especially the marines) wouldn’t realize it’s significance. Now of course this raises the question of why Garp, Kaido, and Big Mom didn’t recognize it but they each have negative memories of that time (especially Garp). So it’s plausible that they DID recognize the fruit offscreen but didn’t being it up due to their negative association. I know there’s holes in this theory but i think it’s cool.
I've got an interesting story about the two actually. Dracule Wihawk, (formerly known as Dracule Mihawk) was cursed by his half-brother Edward Meevil in the Florian Triangle during the void century. This caused him to grow a beard and puckered his face up. So as not to bring unwanted attention to himself in the current timeline, he became a very strong swordsman and defeated his boastful arch-nemesis Edward Meevil so that the curse would lift and he would then live on as his true self. The lone swordsman Dracule MIhawk then went on to assume a new life as the strongest swordsman, altered Rayleigh's memory using his infinitely powerful conqueror's Haki and finally went on to find himself a new brother figure in Shanks. However it is a close secret which he will not reveal to anyone that him and Weevil's true father is Edward Oldgate, also known as Whitebread. Hope you GrandFleet fans enjoyed this non-canon One Piece storyline... had to channel all my Usopp CoC for this one ;)
In my opinion I think Mihawk would win in a fight. As he was casually sparring with shanks when he had both arms. Which leads me to believe that he’s on an emeperors level.
I think Silvers Rayleigh had a relationship with Im-sama which resulted in Mihawk. And those who knows his secret started to call him the "Dark King" since Im-sama is a girl in this context.(That's just a quick theory)
I like the idea of the jacket being passed down because when Zoro first met Mihawk he told him to cut his chest because a swordsman doesn't cut anyone in the back. The cloak is open in the front but covered in the back. It would be cool if Mihawk lets Zoro live because that is one of the codes of a true swordsman and he saw the potential in Zoro.
Imagine Rocks pirates fighting Roger pirates, Rock's first mate Shakky fighting Reyleigh. They have an epic fight Mr and Mrs Smith style and end up making some passionate Love.
With stories like One Piece or MHA I think most theories people present are worth considering. Both stories have authors that drop breadcrumbs that have led to something multiple times.
We all know Meevil Would beat Wihawk, after all, he just has to remove his oversized boomerang moustache and throw it, not even Wihawk could escape an attack as devestating as that
It also makes sense that Rayleigh and Mihawk and Zoro have a connection because all that we know was that Rayleigh is known as "The Dark King" and Zoro declares himself "The King Of Hell". I know what I might be saying is crazy but they both also have conqueror's as well. If we are making a connection between Rayleigh and Mihawk then not only are they the finest of swordsmen (apart from Zoro) but Mihawk must've had a moniker of some sort that holds the title of "King". Like the "King of Death" or "Swords" or something

Hence 'Dracule', which comes from dragon and also refers to dracula, and why he wears a big broad hat all the time to keep the sun off. He's called Mihawk because when he hatched out he was raised by a pirate with a hook hand and a strong accent whose hook hand he kept biting onto, and the regular cries of 'mi hawk!' (my hook) stuck as a name they all started calling him.

The winner would have to be Meevil, going off of the moustache = power power scale Meevil would have the bigger moustache and therefore would have the most power. While there aren't exact measurements of Meevil and Wihawks moustaches to compare the heights of some characters who look really similar are 6'6 and 22'3 respectively making me be able to safely assume Meevil has the bigger stache.
Rayleigh being Mihawk's son would theoretically incentivize the Roger Pirates to meet Mihawk at some point so Shanks and Mihawk could end up fighting.

We haven’t really seen Edward Meevil’s true power since he is barely shown and seen in the anime while Mihawk has been shown to fight commanders and even shanks once before and the fact that Mihawk survived a fight with shanks who was probably in his prime and came out unscathed is pretty remarkable to say the least. Edward Meevle might be Whitebeards son but I would give it to Mihawk.

The jacket/cloak used as a way to recognise the world's greatest swordsman would kind of make sense to me because of at least one other fictional anime that uses the same code: Afro Samurai.

Weevil is definitely strong (at least strong enough to become a warlord despite his claim to fame as Whitebeard's son is disputed), but Mihawk is an old rival of a current yonko whom he know longer wishes to fight because said yonko lost an arm. Mihawk wins that fight easily.

Dracule Mihawk wins because so far, we haven't seen much of Meevil, but I think Mihawk is stronger because he is the World's Strongest Swordsman and Meevil is just Whitebeard's self-proclaimed son which we don't know for sure if that's true. Mihawk is also Yonko level and we know that because he has fought shanks before and survived without losing any body parts.
Okay that is a lot of bad narrative, first off: Shanks and MIhawk fought long before Shanks ever entered Emperor status. And even to this day, Mihawk sees no challenge with Shanks missing an arm.
Second: Comparing anything to "Yonko Level" is absurd and has no actual meaning. Being an Emperor of the sea is more of a notoriety concept than an actual power level. We don't know Mihawk's Haki level - what Haki he can use - nor his full combative ability. We can theorize he has armament and observation, but no conqueror's haki has ever been displayed. Neither have we seen all of what SHanks can do either. Nor do we even know what their clashes looked like when they dueled. To compare a feat that has no ground to say someone is "Yonko Level" is just bad conjecture. Remember, even someone as pathetically weak as Buggy can become a Yonko if his fame and territory grows. We know Buggy cannot fight on ANY LEVEL near his own crew. Yet he can become a Yonko.
I think mihawk would absolutely clobber weevil, we have never even seen the extent of mihawks abilities and it is heavily implied he would beat zoro, who I imagine would beat weevil, not only that, he was said to have been shank’ rival who is an emperor, it would be crazy if weevil managed to beat mihawk. There's another problem with the Mihawk is Rayleigh and Shakky's child. Shakky comes from Amazon Lily. It is impossible for her to give birth to any other gender than female. So unless Mihawk is trans, which I highly doubt is possible without Ivankov and that Oda had even though of the idea, Mihawk is for sure not Shakky's child. But that does not mean Mihawk is not Rayleigh's child. Shakky did say that Rayleigh tried to 'get along' with other girls when the crew met her in saobody for the first time. Meevil’s strength was said to be equal to the that of the famous Whitemoustache in his prime, while Wihawk is the greatest knifesman in the world. Now, while Whitemoustache’s power has actually never actually been weighed against Wihawk’s, due to Phoenix Jozu stopping his knife-stab from even hitting him, we can assume it’s at least slightly above Wihawk’s, maybe even leagues above. But, while Meevil does have Whitemoustache’s strength, he, unlike Whitemoustache, is an idiot. We’re talking probably missing brain-parts level idiot. Dracule Mihawk is the strongest swordsman in the world. He's probably the strongest out of the current shichibukai. However, this is with the caveat that we aren't yet sure about just how strong Edward Weevil is. He has been compared to a young Whitebeard. This means that he might even be stronger than Mihawk. Mihawk is on a whole different level when it comes to speed and I think this would be the cause of Weevil's loss.

Oda in the past worked for the autor of Rurouni Kenshin Nobuhiro Watsuki, and in Rurouni Kenshin when Kenshin become the master of Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū the old master Hiko Seijūrō XIII offers his CLOAK to Kenshin saying that the cloak represents that he becomes the master of Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū, and gues what, the cloak is realy similar as the one Mihawk uses, so, as far as we can espaculate about that, being Himura Kenshin one of the greatest swordsman in manga, and the history of Rurouni Kenshin being about swordsmans at all, and Oda being a formely assistant of Nobuhiro Watsuki, THIS MAKE MUCH MUCH MUCH SENSE! Based on recent manga events (spoilers) Mihawk should be above yonkou level in terms of power. Given that Zoro defeated King with relative ease (he was dying during the fight, so in normal conditions he would've won more easily) i think right now he has like a 30-40% chance of defeating a younkou 1vs1, and by the end of the series he will be even stronger. So it only makes sense that Mihawk is stronger than a yonkou because otherwise it wouldn't make sense for him to be Zoro's final enemy.

Ever since Whitebeard said Mihawk and Shanks had daily duels, the thought of them being former 1 & 2 crewmates has stuck in my head. How else would they have the duels, same boarding school?

The *right* translations are either:
"Even the duel between you and Hawkeye is still new to my ears.." or
"Your duel with Hawkeye is still fresh in my memory.."
It's definitely wihawk, he is on par with shanks and that is more than enough to justify it. The thing is Meevil aren't even doing his leg day (joke), and he's pretty much still childish. Even tho they say that meevil is as strong as whitebeard on his younger days, meevil still doesn't have wb's df, so technically its just wb's strength, which is admirable, but he's fighting wihawk so he need skills not just brute force. And I'm certainly sure that he doesn't have a conquerors haki. While wihawk have a big chance to have it, because how can he keep up with shanks if shanks knew it and he doesn't.
Its not mihawk vs weevil, It's Wihawk vs Meevil... You gotta rewatch and change your answer
I dont get why people still assume Mihawk is on par with Shanks. They fought when Shanks wasnt even a Yonko. Im pretty sure Shanks stomps Mihawk now with Haki alone

Dracule Wihawk would easily win. Being the second best swordsman (to Dracule Mihawk), Edward Meevil would stand almost no choice, other than him being the second son of Whitebeard. (He’s brothers with former warlord Edward Weevil)

Hi ! I'd like to spread confusion all over the fandom. The coat representing the "lord of the sword" title seems plausible, however Roger's main weapon was a first class sword, and he was able to fight Whitebeard while using it most of the time. If there was a "lord of the sword" before, it was Roger, not Rayleigh. Rayleigh is not likely to be the former strongest swordsman, unless he was even stronger than his captain.

I think it was stated somewhere that oden was considered strongest swordsman before Mihawk.

@@PC-qu7zk Well, could you tell me where you saw that Roger's main fighting style wasn't swordsmanship ? He fights with a sword and has sword techniques, can coat his sword with coa and coc like top swordsmen like Oden or Zoro, has tamed a first class meito sword (and we know that meito swords choose swordsmen worthy of them) and doesn't use bombs, or anything else. It's pretty clear he's a swordsman.

As far as the duel between Dracule Wihawk and Edward Meevil, I believe it’ll be a draw, as they are both as much the world’s greatest swordsman as they are “Whitebeard’s son”, leading them to become stalemated
Mihawk wins just due to sheer insane badassness, have we ever really see him break a sweat? Even in the marineford war he casually threw out an attack at whitebeard “just to test him” or whatever words he used. Have we actually seen the extent of his true power? Zoro is so insanely powerful that we have to keep nerfing him and I don’t believe he’s better then mihawk YET, by the end he will be but as for now I think Mihawk could beat Zoro 10/10 times they fought and I think zoro would beat weevil so Mihawk would dummy weevil and make him look like the child he is mentally.

I believe Meevil would win against Wihawk because of a few things
Wihawk uses the sword Yoru which is a Saijo grade blade and Mihawk has turned the blade into a Black Blade
Wihawk from what we know was able to hold his own against the Yonko Shanks where their battles echoed throughout the Grandline
Wihawk is well trained and an expert in Armament Haki and is a good user of Observation Haki
Wihawk has been able to take down entire fleets of Marines and Pirates on his own
Wihawk has yet to have been harmed by any character in the show ever since the start of it
Wihawk has amazing speed and sight being able to keep up with a Gear Second Luffy
Wihawk has superhuman strength being able to cut entire warships in half and mountains of ice
WIhawk has amazing Swordsman skills unparalleled by anyone currently alive in the One Piece verse
Wihawk doesn't need to have someone to tell him what to do he does what he wants

My theory: Rocks was the previous user of Luffy’s gum gum fruit or at least had it in his possession. It would explain WHY the world government wanted to guard it and the fact Rocks was essentially erased from history would explain why majority of people (especially the marines) wouldn’t realize it’s significance.
Now of course this raises the question of why Garp, Kaido, and Big Mom didn’t recognize it but they each have negative memories of that time (especially Garp). So it’s plausible that they DID recognize the fruit offscreen but didn’t being it up due to their negative association.
I know there’s holes in this theory but i think it’s cool.
Zoro could wear a headband with that design pattern, he could wear it on his arm when he's not fighting and on his hair when he is.
I've got an interesting story about the two actually. Dracule Wihawk, (formerly known as Dracule Mihawk) was cursed by his half-brother Edward Meevil in the Florian Triangle during the void century. This caused him to grow a beard and puckered his face up. So as not to bring unwanted attention to himself in the current timeline, he became a very strong swordsman and defeated his boastful arch-nemesis Edward Meevil so that the curse would lift and he would then live on as his true self. The lone swordsman Dracule MIhawk then went on to assume a new life as the strongest swordsman, altered Rayleigh's memory using his infinitely powerful conqueror's Haki and finally went on to find himself a new brother figure in Shanks. However it is a close secret which he will not reveal to anyone that him and Weevil's true father is Edward Oldgate, also known as Whitebread.

In my opinion I think Mihawk would win in a fight. As he was casually sparring with shanks when he had both arms. Which leads me to believe that he’s on an emeperors level.
Mihawk being the world's greatest swordsman, I think could take on even Weevil, who is said to have the strength of Whitebeard in his prime.
I think Silvers Rayleigh had a relationship with Im-sama which resulted in Mihawk. And those who knows his secret started to call him the "Dark King" since Im-sama is a girl in this context.(That's just a quick theory)

I like the idea of the jacket being passed down because when Zoro first met Mihawk he told him to cut his chest because a swordsman doesn't cut anyone in the back. The cloak is open in the front but covered in the back. It would be cool if Mihawk lets Zoro live because that is one of the codes of a true swordsman and he saw the potential in Zoro.

With stories like One Piece or MHA I think most theories people present are worth considering. Both stories have authors that drop breadcrumbs that have led to something multiple times.

I think Mihawk liked the freedom of not being tied to any one, so he needed the protection of being a warlord.

It also makes sense that Rayleigh and Mihawk and Zoro have a connection because all that we know was that Rayleigh is known as "The Dark King" and Zoro declares himself "The King Of Hell". I know what I might be saying is crazy but they both also have conqueror's as well. If we are making a connection between Rayleigh and Mihawk then not only are they the finest of swordsmen (apart from Zoro) but Mihawk must've had a moniker of some sort that holds the title of "King". Like the "King of Death" or "Swords" or something

I think Mihawk took the position so he could fight strong guys and be left alone. Another similarity to Zoro. Zoro did not just want to hunt pirates but fight strong people that just happen to be pirates and people started calling him the pirate hunter. I think he might of even said he didnt like that title or something. Imma have to re read that zoro flashback chapters when he talks about himself
