Many milleniels were raised by parents who doted on them, treated every little detail of their existence, especially their "happiness", as though it was life and death. Those kids grew up thinking their happiness was the most important consideration of all. Former generations realized that the OPPORTUNITY to get a job and PROVE themselves was THE GOAL. Millenniels get a spot and think that the workplace should adapt to THEIR NEEDS, and that employers SHOULD CARE whether they are happy! What a culture shock when they find that in the real world nobody really gives a darn whether you are happy. What you will get is a pink slip if you don't do your job. It is a matter of attitude, success or failure, and they don't have an attitude of gratitude for a chance. They've never had to prove themselves, and they are lost in the real world.

I work with a millennial and he's actually quite hard working. If he doesn't understand something, he comes and asks us more experienced staff for help and makes the effort to learn the skills for the job. Not all millennials are lazy.
However, that handshake at the end of the video. 🤣🤣

Working Millennials (go to work every day) are hens teeth...They are incapable of learning, generally...When they're good, they're very good; ( rarities) when they're bad, they SUCK ( majority )

I'm a millennial born in 1991, I've worked in hospitality as a cook and chef for 10 years and as an iron worker for 3 years. both are blue collar every job I've actually enjoyed the work of has been a dirty job I guess most would consider. there are more millennials that work hard and try their best than there are the sniveling cry babies that think the world ought to help them, but every generation has their shitbags and oxygen thieves the bad ones are just louder so they get more attention.

I loved when I would have to train a young millennial apprentice, the 3 things I could never get over was #1 If you handed them a broom they would always ask" What do I do with this?" #2. As we would be grabbing tools out the truck they would always look at the 55yr old man with a shoulder bag full of tools and say " do I need to bring my tools?".#3 I always had to explain to them how their mom-mees didn't work with us. God help the next generation cuz we totally F****d our kids up.

I was at the grocery store earlier today and noticed something. There's a half-full paper Starbucks cup sitting on the concrete base of one of the parking lot lights - it's been there for over a week. The store has lot attendants/cart shaggers, all of which are of this demographic, and NONE have the initiative to dispose of that cup?!? For an enlightened and socially responsible generation of people who allegedly "care about the environment", they sure are unmotivated and clueless. Not all of that generation are like this, mind you, but it sure seems that the majority are.

Sorry to burst some bubbles, but I'm a Boomer who raised 4 Millennials, but they had ME for a dad!! Parents have alot to do with kids attitudes. All 4 of my kids are amibitious.3 of them own and run their own small but growing businesses and the 4th has his Master's degree and uses it daily at his full time job of 8 years. Not all Millennials are lazy self centered kids......some actually do well. Maybe the difference is that they saw their dad working sometimes 2 jobs to make ends meet and never sat around complaining/blaming others about everything. And more than probably because we home schooled them too. I think our socialistic public schools are part of this problem.....kids are being brainwashed by liberal teachers from K-12 and then into most colleges. Our kids never got a "trophy" for doing what was "expected" of them and doing chores was just part of our daily lives. (And in reality.....it's not fair to label a whole generation as one thing or another when there are always exceptions to the rule). For instance....there are alot of left-over "Hippie" Boomers (who've never grown up) who have given the rest of us a bad rap....RIGHT?

    • @roberthansen2008
      @roberthansen2008 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

and I think the college is pushed the lazy agenda more than anything. And a lot of times I think the parents weren't tough enough on their kids growing up. I see that a lot with a lot of these spoiled brat rich kids that don't want to work. I remember when I was 30 years old twenty years ago I was already well out of the house and working my butt off.

Daniel Popsicle I used to work at a small State College and they act like this and they come across as very perplexed and that they have no clue as to what life is. Even the ones that are 30 years old. It's very disturbing because they just don't know anything. And what's up with the Shaggy beards all of the sudden. I'm almost 50 years old and back then we didn't walk around with a Shaggy beards and we didn't smell like dirty Patchouli and I love McDonald's when I was 20 years old I couldn't wait to eat more of it. Is there just a bunch of spoiled brats. Then it's really a shame.

This is so true! If you even have a pulse they will hire you in construction. It's unfortunately been like this. The complaint about millennials is the same complaint I heard from the guys before me. Some of it is just posturing but some of it is demonstrative and instructional. The older generation always has to teach the newer one. Alot of the gripes I heard was older or younger they couldn't pass a drug test or background check. As an unskilled apprentice up to even eighty percent of journeyman scale you should be working everyday. After that the financing gets tight for the company. If you can make it through the final couple years through to journeyman and be out by yourself just play the politics and you'll be fine. No cowboys on the job anymore.

Don't knock young people! I'm 64 and the world was different when I finished High School. Got into bikes, built my first Harley when I was just 19, started getting together a good tool set. Now that I'm old I have a garage that is a small machine shop. Young guys that are into bikes are hanging out . I'm teaching them how to run a lathe and make custom nuts and bolts. How to bend up a rear fender support for a Triumph 650 chopper. When I can't always answer their questions they get out their cell phones and find out. Most of their political feelings are in align with mine and just like being creative.
There was a lot more opportunity for the young four decades ago and coupled with a school system that has hit rock bottom! Back in the early 70's kids that dropped out of high school could read, write and do basic math - you couldn't spend 9 years in a system and not learn something. All that changed by extreme liberalism, now we have kids finishing school and they can read, write or do basic math.
If your trashing Millenials then the fault goes towards everybody.
    MAGA!

yeah I graduated high school in 2008, they cut woodshop, drafting and autobody classes from my high school. now the kids these days have robotics class and the rest. I wanted and had an "in" at an electricians union at age 19 but my middle class yuppy parents demanded I go to college. waste of time and most kids get shoved around in life like that and then have to figure it out themselves. alot of time the skill level required is real high on jobs and they don't have time to pay you. nice that you are teaching people. they need better career counseling, everyone is just trying to sell their program to these guys and they get jaded.

Okay, as a millennial myself, this does have some accuracy... But I am a hard-working young woman. But during my free time I spend lots of time finding myself while drinking dairy free tea and scrolling feeds on Instagram...

ROFL using your kids hand. These vids are so good and true. They always want to go home early. Also, they never buy tools at all. I said to one: "You have worked on a solar panel crew for 2 years and you don't have a phillips head screw driver?".,. ;)

I work in the film industry. Lazy people with an un-earned and un-deserved sense of entitlement get weeded out really quickly. Some of the best people I've ever worked with are millennials who are bright, ambitious, and willing to work long hours. Don't tar them all with the same brush.
