Omg, that is so true and sad with some employers. I had a dispatcher like that for 2 months in 2008. It was the slow season, so we all got our hours driving across 2 or 3 counties. Driving 3 plus hours a day to run 3 or 4 calls a day just doing residential service. She had no clue on the area. Also, you would call her and it would take her a minimum of 10 minutes to call you back every time. We knew this was not going to work out with her when we were slammed with A/C calls. So just before A/C season kicked in, we all started complaining about her to management and got her moved back to her old position. Don't feel guilty about, owner was and still is a idiot.
I pride myself on making the Tech’s jobs as easy as possible, even if that means getting behind on planned maintenance. But I also order the parts, do the invoicing, the repair quotes, scheduling, inventory, cleaning, and selling otc. Let’s just say I am now addicted to nicotine since starting this job.
I am not that nice to my techs lol , I don’t let them tell me where they are going or who to send . If I am sending you , you’re going and that’s that .
@George Velasquez Dude, it is kinda your job. I am a dispatcher too and I am told my the Supervisor what I need to tell the tech to do. It sucks equally as bad for me. No one likes to be the bad guy. But we all have a job to do and have to suck it up and be an adult about it.
The dispatcher must have stopped by Petco that night and picked Brad up a hamster! I wish I would have seen this when I worked at Walmart! We had some call that would have been perfect candidates for the noun and verb routine! "No, no. We are out of those, ma'am. Yeah, the truck... got annihilated... by a chimpanzee... that was playing... with a cane. Oh yeah, it set us back at least 14 days. No, I can't do anything. No. Yeah, ill be sure to call you back when I find out hie many pineapples we have in stock. Thank you, have a great day." P.S. I actually did have someone ask how many CRATES of pineapples we had in stock...
