How Daikoku Parking Area Became The WORLD'S MOST FAMOUS Car Meet
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 18 เม.ย. 2024
- Daikoku Parking Area is the most recognized car meet up spot in Japan. I’ve been shooting gatherings there for over 20 years and to this day it never fails to impress.
The variety you get at Daikoku is pretty much unmatched, with meets happening pretty much daily, weather permitting.
This video digs a little bit deeper, touching on the history, the reasons it’s become the best meeting spot in the country and why we need to be very careful how we all behave to make sure we have this location for many years to come.

Hope you guys enjoy this new style/format of video! Been a short hiatus but have some super cool videos lined up!
Great video. Just the right pace and vibe for a docu style on such an iconic place. Thanks!
Thank you for making this content happen, Sir! Remember this place since the early 00's when it got featured in YT videos. This got me inspired of owning a JDM car and dreaming to get a BNR34. After the car got reality, i still had not the chance to get there, but i hope it will work out next year. I hope that with all the politics trying to ban all things related to car culture, this place will still remain for ever.
Thank you!
Kind Regards
Matt
Loved this format, great video!!! It was cool seeing your old shots as well, show them with pride!
We want more of that Dino!
The only one car show in the world available all moast every day.
What i like: no huligans, only chill people who share their passion & others that enjoy it together 🎉✌️🇷🇴
Your last statement is so important: We, the car community, need to take care of us and what we have! We need to "regulate" ourselves before someone else does it, ruining it for everybody.
Thank you for speaking about it. And a great video as always.
I really like the documentary intro style! Daikoku is such an iconic place with tons of variety, there is always something new to see.
One more thing… The great thing about Daikoku is also the great thing about your channel, which is the sheer variety of cars that can be seen. These days I have a Honda S2000 that I enjoy driving. But in the past I have owned everything from British sport cars to American muscle. The bottom line is that I consider myself a car guy. Just about anything with wheels and a motor interests me.
I went to Japan during the Auto Salon week and Daikoku has been one of my favorite spots, there's really something for every taste
That guy's "Support Violent Driving, Japanese Spirit" hoodie tho. 🤣🤣🤣 Loving the new format, Dino!
That’s Hardcore Tokyo owned by Jun Takahashi 😎
Daikoku pa is probably one of my biggest bucket list place to visit if I ever get to Japan.
I rented a Toyota Yaris for 50 dollars just go to Daikoku in Feb 2023. I was awestruck when I saw what I had only seen online for 15 years.
Dino, please continue with this new style of documentary, and extend it to other gems of Japanese car culture, like Tsukuba.
Something about a Sunday morning with some certified classics while listening to super cars looping around the overpasses hits different.
I keep repeating myself in the comments but i don't care,,Thanks Dino for showing all of this. Been a big fan for over a decade due to your Speedhunter work.😎👍
Edit: Dear Japan, please don't close this due to a few idiots that break the law,, Thank you.
Appreciate the long following 🫶🏼
Would love to see more of these historical videos. Something about the history of Wangan racing would be fascinating!
I fear this will end before I have a chance to see it due to the popularity causing too many non invested visitors coming and breaking the rules. Thanks for the history and story, been following since speed hunters.
Thank you for the long follow! 🫶🏼 I fear too, we’ve pretty much lost Tarsumi PA already…
@@dino_dc damn, thanks for holding it down.
Diakoku is the best. Never a dull moment, always cool to see.
Looking forward to being there for the first time this summer, I hope to find you as well.
Thanks a lot for all the materials shared through Speedhunters and TH-cam across all these years.
Always love the visuals and the new style is SMOOTHIE ⭐️ excited for the next new episodes to come !
The value and knowledge you bring in your videos combined with visuals you guys are working on is making it so awesome.
Happy to hear that!
Great video Dino! Those morning shots look fantastic too. It's a place that we definitely need to protect and respect for it to keep going.
Blue A70 with old school Volks!! 🔥 🔥
2:31 Why is no one talking about that F40 with the roof scoop? Great video!
Ah yes the Famous wild Daikoku what a legendary place only in Japan 👌 and a place where you can see everything from a mint Lancia Stratos to a fully built Hakosuka GTR to a Chevelle SS to a 800HP R34 GTR and everything else you could think of only in Japan and as Dino said be respectful and follow the rules otherwise will loose this amazing place and Dino great work 👍
I've been watching your content so long I feel like I know you, and watching a video like this is almost like I've finally gotten to visit from the sates and you're just giving me the rundown. Very cool feeling. I hope to visit one day.
Excellent video Dino as always, i always wanted to visit that place but as tourists it seems a little bit complicated, as you've said it's a car show and i hope the keep like that many years because there aren't too many places like that left, i live in Switzerland and it's almost impossible to have a place like that and sadly some people don't behave. Your videos are almost philosophical always a delight to watch and hear.
Greetings !!!
Thank you!
Love the content along w/ the tunes makes for pleasurable viewing every time. 🤙🏼🤙🏼
The story to the video made it so much better. Keep it going!
Great video! Loved the documentary style😊
As much as it was amazing you showing us such an amazing variety of awesome cars, it was just as much fun stopping the frames and seeing the ones in the background you couldn't show. Blown away!
Me and my wife had a blast yesterday there in Daikoku
Glad to see you back at it! I really enjoyed this slightly more formal feeling voice-over style. It was cool.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this video. Visit Daikoku is a dream of mine.
Really like the new video style. Really cool effects, a lot more interesting shots, put together really well. Thank you!
Thank you! Appreciate that, props to Alec for working on it 👏🏻
Fantastic cars and narration.
Legendary Location
Wow can't wait to visit!
Great video and insight on Daikoku. Having been following the JDM style since the early 2000’s, I would love to visit Daikoku some day. If only I could figure out how to get my rz34 over there….lol 👍🏼
Really nice video!
Daikoku PA is an awesome place!
One of a kind!
top content ! ONE day japan ! one day I'll move in !
One of my dream locations to visit in future ❤. Hopefully they continue and never ends
always enjoy your videos!
Thanks!
Hey Dino! It was nice meeting you that Sunday morning and I was looking forward to seeing this coverage!!
Amazing shots and I’m enjoying the format, thanks for sharing your insight about this iconic place and your passion for JDM cars🙌
Thanks! And good meeting you!
Great video, crazy times we're in with +15 tour groups surfing the line of legality and still people jumping the gates!?
Cant wait to come here next year!
Another great video Dino! You dont get enough attention for your work
Not giving up!
Dope beats Dino. Liking the intro...oh the cars aswell.
Thank you!
Glad you made this video. To this day and all my trips to Japan I never got to visit but glad my nephew was able to and hoping I can visit. Sometimes we shoot ourselves in the foot or are the party foul and ruin it for everyone. Hoping many see this and practice restraint to keep spots like this alive and going. Social media is cool and all but seeing and meeting others in person and talk story feels connected. I have been seeing videos on Okutama so hoping to see more on this location/region.
Great video. The imagery, sounds and your perspective mixed with history and a lesson makes for a perfect feature. Hope to make it there one day, see you in person, thank you, shake your hand and take a pic. Otsukare.
Glad you enjoyed it! Otsukaresama!
What blows my mind is that this has been going on for *30 years* without somebody ruining it for everyone and getting it shut down.
Yup. Makes you think.
Thanks for this video as it cleared up a number of things about Daikoku that I’ve been curious about for a while now. I do have one question - is possible to reach Daikoku via public transit? Hopefully cooler heads can basically self-police the activity there so that the authorities do not wind up feeling the need to have the place shut down to the car/bike community. It sure looks like an awesome spot!
There are no public transit options or pedestrian access. Only by car.
No you need a car, and a car to get back. It’s a highway rest stop so no access from anywhere but the highway.
Dino, thanks 👍🏻
It's this, the variety that makes the place so enjoyable. There's always gonna be something new, unusual, special. More informal "all the tribes" meets would make the world more colorful.
i plan to hitchike soon across japan and i wanna visit this place as well
That orange tvr sagaris literally threw me off, wasnt expecting to see that.
It probably took me twice as long to watch this video.
I was stopping it every couple of seconds, trying to see
what cars were in the background!!
Man there is some amount of variety on show there.
Always!
Sheeesh! best car meet spot in 🇯🇵🔥
4:30 - that Honda motorcycle tho.
I really want to visit Daikoku in the Future, it´s a long dream of mine
Planning to go japan in the next couple of years. Im just really hoping Daikoku is still around and there Isnt a tourist ban like they have been implementing in other areas of japan.
Daikoku is a better dream than Goodwood, Amelia Island,London, Monaco and other shows and places that heave cars 😊❤
I was in Japan from 91-, but I didn't have a car and was dating a "dancer" so didn't have extra coin to aquire one.😅. So these videos help make up for it.
Dino da GOAT 🐐
Hi Dino, would like to check with you is this car meetup held on weekly basis, day time or night time?
Is the venue easily access by train and the exact address.
How can we know when are they holding this kind of car meetup event.
Hope you are kind enough to advise and enlighten me by sharing those information with me.Your sharing is greatly appreciated, many thanks.
It can be daily but night time only, daytime meets only happen on weekends and national holidays. And no it’s not accessible by anything other than by car, hence the issue with the tourists
@@dino_dc Thanks for your valuable information and advice,Dino.
As car enthusiast who sold his pride and joy to finish school and move to Japan one day, I can only hope people will respect the rules and legally come to Daikoku to enjoy what it has to offer; I hope I can see this irl one day myself
Hello! Great video! What is the closest metro station please? Thank you!
None. You have to go by car
#respectdaikokupa 9:55
Don't ruin it for everyone! ❤❤
Japan ist just great
It's great as long as you don't work there
lol so true
@@aceytojaLooks nice from germany 😂😂
Finally!!! My car made it to a video by Dino!!
Which one?
@@dino_dcred jzx100 markii @ 13:00
2:09 that 964😍
nice color grading
For those wanting to go there you need to either: 1: Have a car to enter, 2: ride as a passenger. You cannot walk in there. I learned the hard way.
the bmw 2002 is not on stock wheels. those might be stock wheels from a 328i e30 or something like that
E30 325is wheels, the more rare 15" version
Im a fan of new style 🤌
Glad to hear that
Show love to Subaru's plz!!!
6:07 Did he just walk by a 190 evo without even acknowledging it 😂
Pfft see them every day 😂 😜
Went there last year in a rented rx7 only to find that it was shut down … so i have to retry this year
What time of the weekend is the best to visit?
8 am is good for mornings
I wish it was possible to have anything like this in the US. Too bad, only in Japan.
you have your various cars and coffee meets
🤘🏾⚡️
Iding Power 355 ????
daikoku PA wouldnt last a week in the united states, thats the saddest part. great video as always
Takeovers lol
It's still a car heaven but when street racing was at its peak there was a lot of crazy builds, now it's just mostly loud supercars and modern sport cars with minor mods
Nah wouldn’t say that. The wild builds continue it’s just owners tend not to show them off too much.
@@dino_dc Ah yeah that's true, at night it's definitely more wild
casually passing by a 2.7 RS
Just an idea: sometimes, could you maybe grab all your b-rolls that may have been cut from the original video and put them all together with nice music, as a "raw" b-side of the original.
👍💪✌
Drivers of large vehicles are facing difficulties because regular cars are parked in spaces designated for large vehicles.
Yes, I touched on that in the video
注意喚起動画ありがとうございます。
最近は外国人観光客向けの大黒PAツアーもあると聞きます
Daikoku is also a rest area for truck drivers, so local authority is not happy about this situation.
As was said in the video 👍🏻
Centuries are very rare / expensive?
Can’t you get them for 15-20k any day of the week?
Even after a shit tonne of taxes & shipping + compliance fees, they can be bought in Australia for 18-35k easily.
A couple of years ago you could get one for even less.
(AUD, so USD would be even less.)
It’s all going up now
What a magical place! I was playing R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 (1999) on the Playstation and the ending cinematic takes place in a recreation of Daikoku PA. It seems that no matter where you go, even in a videogames from 25 years ago, this place is treated as a special part of Japanese car culture.
I wish there was an American Daikoku, maybe somewhere in LA, but I'm 99% it would immediately be ruined by hooded individuals making too much noise, leaving trash, doing burnouts, crashing, hitting people, and committing crime within just a few days, and forcing it to get shut down. I love LA but I know the people here have no respect at all for others and it simply wouldn't work. This kind of magical place can only exist when people have some level of respect for the location and for others, and too many Americans are simply completely incapable of behaving themselves in a civilized manner.
I wish I was exaggerating.
Wow Ridge Racer brings back so many memories!
Another thing that I admire in the Japanese culture is that the car scene is allowed unless you become an asshole and the local police will step in . Otherwise its all good.
No 2-stepping? Pass ;)
Does one still say jdm in Japan? 😂 just wondering.
Blablablabla😂🚘🚘🚘🙈
Dino always provided good content, no doubt, but he needs to get over himself. Always find a way to make it about himself or take credit for something. Sounds like the kid that always needs attention.
In what way??
huh? you read too much into things bud.
