The Model 2 Redwood will use Tesla’s Supercharger network for quick, reliable charging and offer home options like the Wall Connector. It might also work with other public chargers where needed, making charging simple and stress-free.
I don't drive more then 20 miles from home these days. When will these be available? What is the battery warrentee (in years)? I am saving my money to buy one ASAP.
The Model 2 Redwoods' innovative production techniques could lower environmental impact by reducing carbon emissions, minimizing waste, and using sustainably sourced materials. Water-efficient processes and eco-friendly packaging may further conserve resources, while localized manufacturing can cut transportation emissions. Additionally, a focus on durability, recyclability, and habitat restoration can promote sustainability across the product's lifecycle.
The interior is exciting as watching paint dry. The battery should be at least solid state, allowing 80% to full charge in 15 minutes and attain up to 600 kms per charge. Still no voice activation, Google or Apple compatibility. Maybe Tesla should copy Chinese BYD EVs. Keep up to the Chinese innovation. I used to adore Tesla, but they’ve fallen behind Chinese manufacturing. Check out vehicles by BYD.
They might have to find affordable but reliable materials, scale up production efficiently, and keep advanced features like Autopilot intact. Plus, they’ll need to manage battery costs and meet high customer expectations without cutting corners.
@@adamtech999 They will reduce cost by reducing complexity, model variations, size, mass, range, motor and battery capacity. Customers with high expectations of anything except quality of construction will have to look at more expensive models.
The product concept was described by Elon Musk in the earnings call TERSELY in less than 20 words, never mentioning what a $20K price might include. This video is purely speculative. I can speculate too. What seems most likely is a purely practical urban commuter car designed for a 50 mile daily round trip, with a reasonable level of seating comfort, a top speed of 65mph, acceptable acceleration and handling for a conservative driver, and FSD by subscription only. (A $10k/50% price increase would make it unaffordable and inappropriate for the target demographic. ) Unlikely - a "performance" model option in 2026 for +$5K, "sexy" body lines, or metallic paint colors.
The Model 2 Redwood could significantly boost Tesla's sales and market share by making EVs accessible to budget-conscious and first-time buyers, expanding its customer base. Its affordability and Tesla's strong brand reputation may help it dominate the affordable EV segment, pressuring competitors to innovate. By appealing to global markets and accelerating EV adoption, the Model 2 could solidify Tesla's leadership while reshaping the industry.
Tesla doesn't have a truly affordable model in production yet. All its current models are priced above the average sale price of cars in the US that people can afford to buy without financing and tax incentives. If the car is successful it will get some of its share from overextended people who now buy Model 3s and Ys new and used..
@@adamtech999 Tesla doesn't need to do anything new to build its reputation. It needs money to keep building, the non-car divisions. It will make so little profit from low cost EVs compared to taxis and other services, that the only reasons to offer them will be to keep an old promise to stimulate competition and innovation by non-Chinese manufacturers.
What kind of charging infrastructure will they provide? That’s important!

it's expected to be launched in 2025, battery warentee is about 15-20 years
I’m interested to see how quickly they can ramp up production.
Thanks for watching, I will keep you updated

Musk said the low cost models will be built on the same lines as the Model 3 and Y, so materials will have more effect than production methods.
How will Teslas new chip development influence the Model 2 Redwoods performance and pricing?
It will run reliably.
TIRES,SEATS WINDOWS AND STEERING WHEEL ARE EXTRA OPTIONS PRICED AT $79K WHAT A DEAL!
I hope they offer financing options to make it even more accessible!
hopefully, such an ideal EV like this must be in the reach of everyone
If you can't afford a $20K new car without financing you can't really afford a new car.
I kind of don't believe that tesla will make a $20k, but we'll see.
OK we'll know it when we see it
If it drives as good as it looks, Tesla will have a hit on their hands.
NO one knows at all what it will look like beyond a family resemblance to the Model 3 (if you squint).
just wait and we'll see
Tesla is already a hit
This might be the push I need to finally switch to electric.
Thank you for watching, stay tuned for the D-day

Where is the actual production design??
it coming
What challenges does Tesla face in maintaining the quality and reliability of the Model 2 Redwood at a lower price point?

good choice
I'll buy a mule and a hitching post before I ever buy an EV. Fortunately, I own a bicycle.
Thanks for watching
