Hi Dave, I'm a new follower to your channel. I'm very much enjoying watching this trip. I'm going to hire Adore from Richardson's in May. Now, I'm not going to lie, I'm a tad nervous, my mobility isn't great in that I can't jump off and on the boat to do the ropes, so mooring up is down to me. I'm an excellent car driver and really hoping those skills will give me common sense in driving the boat. I get confused with mooring against the tide. I may well do a here's what not to fo on the Broads when we go 😂😂😂. Should I be as nervous as I am. ? Thanks for all your footage and entertaining me. Elaine
@@elainemorris3408 Hi Elaine, thanks for watching my channel. It is usual to be nervous of doing something we aren't used to. Richardsons will give you a thorough handover and won't just let you loose unless sure you have grasped everything. Just explain to them that you will be the one steering the boat when mooring. Its always best to moor against the tide unless the wind is stronger. Just do everything slowly and you will be fine. If you aren't sure what the tide is doing at the time you can install the Aweigh app which will tell you what the tide is doing and also how fast you are going. It's not as tidal on the Northern rivers as it is on the Southern rivers and lots of people stay North for their first time. After a few hours on board you will wonder what you was worried about. 😀 Enjoy your first Broads holiday, it probably won't be your last.
