It is not a kitchen, it is a galley. And not a bedroom, it's a cabin. Also the toilet is called a head. You should use the terms fore and aft and port and starboard when on the boat.
I was thinking exactly the same. Do'nt get me wrong Tim, I am an innocent man, but when you said, "one is standing on the shower and the other person is sitting" that instantly made me visualize how well that would work!!!! 😉

OH MY GOD, THAT IS MY MUMS OLD BOAT AT 28:26 I CAN'T BELIEVE IT, WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND IT FOR YEARS ALL OVER THE BROADS, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!! I showed this to my mum and she said that is it!!!!!!!! I don't even care that you insulted it, thank you so much for finding it, you've made my day!

Wow this video really got to me. Me and my mum and dad always used to holiday on The Broads when I was a kid (now 30). We had an absolute blast on the boats we hired. Unfortunately, my mum passed away in February unexpectedly. Thank you so much for making this video Tim, means a lot to me 💙
Very sorry for your loss mate I’m 31 lost my mum 3 years ago. Very tough losing a parent so young. But I’m very glad you have fantastic memories like that to look back on as I do myself. Sincere condolences
Hi Tim, Gabby and Thumbs. The best behaved little fella on the planet. I've been following you for a couple of years now. I was in Gibraltar the same time that you were doing a vlog there. It was great seeing you all going afloat. As an old sea dog myself you'll be pleased to hear that I was calling out instructions. It's not as easy as people might think. Even more so when the weather does its thing. You all did very well and would guess that you may have found some of the stress that accompanies going afloat. No quite as relaxing as the Sunborn. You never know, you might get the bug. Keep up the good work, both of you. Your channel and programmes are most enjoyable and top class .
I’ve watched this video 3 times. It’s my favorite WWMT ever! The Norfolk Broads are so majestic and beautiful. The atmosphere, homes, food… chef’s kiss! You guys could redo this and make it so incredibly romantic!
Love this video, what a great family adventure. What treasure the UK has with all their water ways. A double mooring is when you tie to the posts (moorings) and then a second boat moors to you on the side of your boat.
We did this in 1989 when our daughter was two. My husbands brother and his family live in Brundall, so it gave us an opportunity to meet up with them. We did it again in 1992. It was brilliant and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Gaby did well steering the boat and looked as if she enjoyed being Captain. The boat was light and spacious too. Pity about the weather but on a hot sunny day it would be very nice.
I remember a hire boat cautiously going under a bridge on the Thames and about 15 minutes later returning under the same bridge with complete confidence! It destroyed the top of the cabin as in the intervening time they had opened a weir further upstream causing the water to rise 😂
Personally I love it when there is wind and waves and you can hear the water lapping against the hull and the mooring ropes creaking its what being on a boat is all about ! Never got a mooring at that pub in season, a lovely video 👍🏻
My partner and I bumped into you and Gaby this weekend as you were getting into the lift at the Troll Cart. My partner apologises if he freaked you out by asking you if you were alright over and over, he was quite taken aback to see you, we joked about doing so because your reviews were why we’ve been staying there regularly so to actually see you there was quite weird. Just wanted to say we love watching your videos and it was exciting (for us lol) to see you both x
Lol no worries I was just confused as to why he was asking me that over a d over .. I thought I has done something wrong like I shouldn't be using the lift lol
One of the best of your videos. Loved it with Gabby and Casper. We are a boating family and live in Plymouth Massachusetts. Two of my sons own boats. One is 32 feet and the other 42 feet. All the amenities of home.
when we took our boating holiday on tbe Broads we were advised to start far away from the sea to minimise tidal impact. we had such a relaxing break that our friends from France ( who came with us) bought a house on a marina and a sailng boat afterwards So lovely to see the scenery floating past and all the spring baby ducks.
Absolutely love the broads. I last went in Oct 2022 and we took a wrong turn in Great Yarmouth, we nearly went into the North Sea... lol. Also I noticed you said 2 people. However, your boat could have up to 4. as the couch folds into a double. Double moorings mean boats can moor up next to you. Can't wait to go again.
I was holding my breath as you approached that bridge. Gabby just cool as a cucumber you go girl 😅. And Caspar just as sweet as always. Love the family vlogs.

When I was a nipper, in the 70s, my Dad used to send for the Hoseasons boating brochure. We'd chose a boat and a route and then never, ever go. My Dad got queasy looking at a puddle
Did a boating holiday off season on the Broads before, but started at the top end. And did it as a solo. The staff were a little confused as I was on my own, but it didn't affect my time and the mooring up. Was a really nice relaxing holiday, and slow passed. Annoying I brought some local cheese when there and left it in the fridge, and forgot about it till I was halfway home.
@@walkwithmeASMR Was a few years back and did email to ask if it was okay and said it was. Was Richardson's and I did it in March a number of years back if that helps. And the mooring up on my own wasn't that difficult, as I had the mooring lines easy to hand along the side of the boat on each side, so I could get to both quickly, and would always more the stern first and then the bow. That looks so relaxing, even with the wind. I actually thought that you both were just getting on, staying and not moving on so I am quite impressed with how well you both handled the boat--great job! And little Casper is growing up so fast:)
Tim I was waiting for you to demonstrate that the seat opposite the helm turns so as to allow your passenger also to see where they are going. Also if hiring again, take both ropes to the back of the boat , that is front and back so when you get off , you are then in control of the boat. None of this having to get off the front ,. which is high up, and then having to tie the back ropes, you can hold both ropes together which in a strong tide and wind which you were in is a bonus. Someone told us years ago to do this and it is a godsend especially when only one of you is able to get off the boat to moor. Also please bring plenty of supplies , shops are few and far between. Edited to add, in the season mooring outside of pubs is limited. If you get the chance to do it again, pleased study the Tides if on the Southern Broads it is vital that you know the Tides. Captain boats have a double bed in the saloon. The sofa converts. It is a boat for 4 adults or a couple and two kiddies.

Hi Tim, a fellow Norfolk born gal here. I adored growing up in Norfolk and just like you, I was fortunate enough to enjoy days out and family holidays around the county. I found slowly gliding along the Norfolk Broads a truly beautiful experience, as you have been able to show in your short trip. You both made the navegation of your boat look very easy; well done Gaby for getting behind the controls too!!! My elder sister and I, remember our childhood travels very well and often indulged in our nostalgic memories of them, but our younger sister sadly, really remembers nothing at all until around age 7. Young children are not interested in scenery, decor or the ultimate in luxury. As long as their needs are met, you can take them anywhere but don´t expect them to absorb much of it all whilst they are so young. I hope you manage to get a longer trip in sometime! Thank you for sharing OUR beautiful Norfolk with everyone.
Some of those comments aren't very nice. Someone should delete them. I like when you say you are shocked, its just a bit of fun. It was a very enjoyable, different, entertaining video. It was funny and cheerful. And a great experience and memory to have. You were both amazing and Casper is so cute and well behaved😊
Stayed on a houseboat in the early 70s on Oulton Broads. Life jackets? No such thing in those days lol. I remember going to Beccles on the small motorboat we had to get to and from the houseboat but all I can remember is that it rainedfor 2 weeks in July
Fun video this time. Way to go Gaby steering the boat along like a professional! We have been out for day trips on the Broads many times but never overnighters. Bless Casper's heart joining in with it all too. Love these type of family videos Tim. Look forward to Gaby's take on it all! x J x
Casper is growin so fast what a cutie pie 🥰 Gabby did do a great job! She’s a pretty good pilot I’d ride with her. 🌺 That was different great job guys!! Safe travels guys have fun ⚓️
We've done a couple of Broads holidays, despite living in Yarmouth for 20+years and working in and around the broads villages, whilst we were on the water despite only being no more than about 15 miles from home at any time, it felt like we were somewhere we'd never been before, places we knew really well like Potter Heigham felt like different places when approaching from the water.
I had a boat on the Broads, she was a Westwood, very similar to your boat in style and based at Wroxham, happiest times of my life were spent on the broads, the peace and quiet and the atmosphere of tbe place. Very treasured memories, thanks for the video .....
Awesome for so many reasons - not only did you pick probably the most hectic and challenging itinerary you could in those challenging conditions, but it looked like you were having the best fun ever!!!!
40 foot boats are more comfortable for families to hire for a week or fortnight because there is more space and cabins to spread out. You can also hire a rowing/sail boat to tow and older children can play with when moored up.
The water will last 2 to 3 days from the tank and the battery is charged from the engine and will last a few days when fully charged. As long as the engine is run for a couple of hours a day the battery will be charged. It’s only about another 25 mins to Acle and the bridge is a much better pub, also there’s a Mexican restaurant next door with its own mooring area off the river.
I remember suggesting you to hire a broom boat when I used to worked there and you agreeing. After all this time you’re finally on one! Glad you enjoyed your time Tim!
That looked like a really cool boat 😊 Casper and Gaby seemed to enjoy it too. Very windy on the night but I liked the coziness of the bedroom I bet it was rocky. Thanks for another video
Great vlog, never been on the Broads, cosy pub by the waters edge is a bonus, be lovely on a warm summers evening. Gaby and Thumps matching jumpers are ace, deffo look the part❤ ty for sharing Tim 🎉
Hi Tim When I was a kid we used to have our summer holidays on the broads there were 5 of us. I loved it. Now I'm in my 50s I'd love to do itu again. May book up. Although it's quite expensive. Love your vids Tim.kerp them coming
Now ya talking this is my kinda holiday. Weve done the norfolk broads on a boat similar to this. We moored up similar to where you are with ducks. It was lovely and peaceful until a party boat came past with lights and music blaring out. It was hilarious where did that come from.😅😅 i would definately do that again.❤❤❤ there were 6 of us. We had a slightly bigger boat. Xxx liz that bedroom is big.
Casper's curls are getting dark! He is growing up so fast! Looking forward to this video 😊 I went on a few dates with a guy who lives on a canal boat and boats are surprisingly spacious!
Love how Casper was fast asleep through all the drama of taking off at the beginning! You and Gaby get along so well. Haha great video! Love your channel and your little family. As a mum of four I live vicariously through you!
We hired a boat on the Broads about 20 odd years ago now for a few days. I just remember it getting really nail biting towards Great Yarmouth when the fog came in quick, a load of windmills and visiting a donkey sanctuary. Good times
The Broads are superb……….. family shenanigans for years, hired boats, houseboats, chalets etc. Sailing dinghies as kids were epic……… based at Bell Boats Brundall next door to Brooms where your boat came from…….. it’s become hugely more expensive and crowded, but it still remains a great staycation.
I was so engrossed I thought I was extended family a great aunt 😂especially when tim said table seats 4..I was there😂😂I think I spend more time with tim n family than my own extended 😂😂.....fantastic thankyou...Gabby a natural captain....@ Oscar with his great adventurous lifestyle...loved it many thanks....Tim you said you didn't mind us making a suggestion....well Manor @ Ashbury resorts only 2 in U.K. looks great fun ...I've been wanting to go .I'm a senior so it's not easy to find right companion mum agile 85 .....but it looks so fun...if i could get the reality of it ..be easier. I think it's mainly young families. Anyway au-revoir till your next trip.
Well, that was a nice trial run for your first holiday in a boat. You can’t do anything to control the weather but in terms of sleeping arrangements you will know what kind of boat to high next time. Very well done.
I was really surprised at how well equipped the boat was. It looked good fun, although not something I'd be willing to try as unfortunately I'm not agile enough any more. I could see me falling in the water!
WOW! What can I say but that was absolutely brilliant Tim. The Norfolk Broads is stunning and I definitely have to visit someday. (Maybe hire a boat out too) The boat really did look impressive and very modern too. Obviously despite the extremely windy conditions you all still had a fantastic time which is what it is all about especially seeing Casper enjoying himself. I had a feeling Gaby would actually enjoy the boating trip and I am looking forward to seeing the BTS of the whole trip. Love these longer videos especially with the family and thanks for sharing with us. One of my favourites now. And the highlight was Tim and his bow thrusters…..😂👍🏻
Wow. That was so nice to watch. I'm a pretty recent subscriber, but I've seen a lot of your videos so far and I never heard you so excited to be in a place like you seemed to be here on the boat. So nice to hear and watch! :) The whole video is full of fabulous vibes. And Gaby rocked as the boat's captain.
Interesting video, Tim. I’ve not done the southern broads before and we were always warned how difficult it is to cross Breydon water so kudos to you! There’s plenty of water in one of those tanks - on a week’s trip you’d probably fill up twice and you’d have had enough electricity for the evening before having to turn the engine on to charge :) A double mooring is allowing another boat to pull up by the side of you and mooring against your boat. The Broads are one of my favourite places so thank you for sharing!
Nothing boat related but if you want ideas for another London hotel, I would suggest The Corinthia. I enjoyed my stay there and from memory there’s a tv in the the bathroom 😂😂. The spa looked really good which unfortunately I didn’t have time to try.
That wine you had is one we get from our local suppliers for our restaurant in Spain! So funny to see it as our uk customers ask where they can buy it and its not sold in any spanish supermarkets. It is spanish though and a very lovely verdejo🍷
13 years of my childhood on those rivers. So nice to see some places still going and to see that just because many of the yards have closed there’s still plenty of boats on the waters
Actually going to the broads next week, precisely then because it's early season. & very few people about & with our dogs & in the t Rougher cheaper boat 😁 but we love it! The peace, relaxation & amazing sunsets
Those boats usually have plenty of power and from when I went the engine had its own battery but charged both. The double mooring means a boat can pull up alongside yours and tie off to it, so you have one tied to the post and the other off your own boat, when it gets busy this can be often seen in some spots.
I did a weekend boat thing on the Norfolk Broads in the summer of 1986 with four mates. What sticks in my mind is how bloody hot it was that weekend. It was a highly enjoyable weekend, and i'm certainly overdue a visit to Norfolk. Thanks for triggering some happy memories with this video Tim.

Look forward to Gaby's take on it all! x J x
Gaby can obviously hear the words 'wine' and 'complimentary' from 5 miles away (like a shark can smell blood!) 😀
Love the way Tim measures all spaces using people 🤣
Casper is growin so fast what a cutie pie 🥰 Gabby did do a great job!
That's the beauty of the broads
My perfect kind of weather!! Warm and a bit cloudy and a bit windy! The sunset looked magnificent on the boat! Just wow!
Brilliant, thanks for sharing. The Broads are lovely, not been on a boat, but have visited the Ferry Inn. Cheers xx
I had a boat on the Broads, she was a Westwood, very similar to your boat in style and based at Wroxham, happiest times of my life were spent on the broads, the peace and quiet and the atmosphere of tbe place. Very treasured memories, thanks for the video .....
Absolutely loved this video, so much fun and so entertaining, looked like you all had a great time and really appreciate you sharing the vlog ❤️👍
It amuses me that the Norfolk Tourist Board promotional slogan "Enjoy The Broads" would have a completely different meaning in 1930s Chicago.
😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
That bedblanket is quite good, its fully washable, so after you it goes in the wash, always 100% clean
Awesome for so many reasons - not only did you pick probably the most hectic and challenging itinerary you could in those challenging conditions, but it looked like you were having the best fun ever!!!!
Tim posts a new video - I was shocked.
Incorrect... Gaby was 😅
Only two people in the shower for this one. Even I was shocked 😂
@@Stu_Kennedy Looks like it has! :)
40 foot boats are more comfortable for families to hire for a week or fortnight because there is more space and cabins to spread out.
You can also hire a rowing/sail boat to tow and older children can play with when moored up.
I’ve never done this before but something I’d love to try. Love the matching outfits and reminds me of Keeping Up Appearances 😂
I might be wrong but i thought i saw the waterlevel and the batterylevel on the dash, top left 2 gauges. at 38:10 i think you can read water and volt.
Gabby what a champ! I was so nervous watching. Both of you make a great team 😊
Agree with Gaby! It would be so relaxing bopping up and down with the wind howling. Beautiful ♥
Casper is adorable! Nice trip!!!
Gaby is a natural at the helm! 😎Loved all the little sailor stripes. 😊 This was Fun!!
Hi Tim When I was a kid we used to have our summer holidays on the broads there were 5 of us. I loved it. Now I'm in my 50s I'd love to do itu again. May book up. Although it's quite expensive. Love your vids Tim.kerp them coming
I'm waiting for Casper to be shocked 😂
Gabby said "just risk it". I love her!! Wonderful video ❤
Wow, what a great adventure, i enjoyed all the ups and downs . Thank you both for sharing. ❤😊
I used to go every year on the broads when I was young a brilliant holiday different boats and boatyards never watched tv too much to see and do.
Great episode. Love videos with the three of you. Very wholesome.
Love how Casper was fast asleep through all the drama of taking off at the beginning! You and Gaby get along so well. Haha great video! Love your channel and your little family. As a mum of four I live vicariously through you!
Thank you!! 😊
We hired a boat on the Broads about 20 odd years ago now for a few days. I just remember it getting really nail biting towards Great Yarmouth when the fog came in quick, a load of windmills and visiting a donkey sanctuary. Good times
Did you know that the biggest cash cow in the UK every Christmas is the donkey sanctuary
Donkeys in the fog with windmills, aahh. 🥰
You have no idea how hyped I am for this!! Love the family holiday vlogs
Hope you enjoyed it!
For sure 👍
We did a week in Feb on a captain from broom.....fantastic! It's our 5th from different boat yards....and it was the best.
Nice to see someone else was shocked 😂
I was really surprised at how well equipped the boat was. It looked good fun, although not something I'd be willing to try as unfortunately I'm not agile enough any more. I could see me falling in the water!
WOW! What can I say but that was absolutely brilliant Tim. The Norfolk Broads is stunning and I definitely have to visit someday. (Maybe hire a boat out too)
The boat really did look impressive and very modern too.
River Thames hire boats are available too from, for example, Datchet yard.
That would be a great trip upstream through Windsor, etc.
Wow, thank you!
Interesting video, Tim. I’ve not done the southern broads before and we were always warned how difficult it is to cross Breydon water so kudos to you!
There’s plenty of water in one of those tanks - on a week’s trip you’d probably fill up twice and you’d have had enough electricity for the evening before having to turn the engine on to charge :)
A double mooring is allowing another boat to pull up by the side of you and mooring against your boat.
Deb and I think this is the best video you have ever done! X
Thanks Peter
13 years of my childhood on those rivers. So nice to see some places still going and to see that just because many of the yards have closed there’s still plenty of boats on the waters
You need a spring line feom the middle of the boat, much easier to moor with that when alone.
Actually going to the broads next week, precisely then because it's early season. & very few people about & with our dogs & in the t
Rougher cheaper boat 😁 but we love it!
Hi sailors. Great entertainment, comedic sailing . Fantastic start to Sunday night. 🛥. Thanks Tim, gabby .
Hey guys! I'm on The Broads next week. There's no place like it.
A great video Tim, really enjoyed watching that. I think you and Gaby did really well steering the boat. Shame about the weather but a great experience.
