It's best to go there out of season in my opinion, it gets very busy there in summer, moorings all taken up, impatient boaters, arguments over "who saw the mooring first" all of which can take the edge off what should be a very pleasant experience.
Nice video of my local area being appreciated by the right people. If it was Bridgestones you were hoping to get to in Potter Heigham you may have been served by my Daughter. My son also works at Thurne Lion. Small world.
Thank you for a great video. It’s a beautiful area, unfortunately I never visited when I lived in London many years ago. I also watch Jonnytreehouse. The bridges are very low! All the best from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
You could have gone in Herbert Woods yard at Potter Heigham, hopefully that wouldn’t have been underwater. Hire boats can go into other hire companies yards!!
Some beautiful pictures especially coming out of Ludham. We have been many many times and we are booked in again for next year.Anyone planning a holiday on the abroad, Northern Broads IMHO are by far the best.
What a delightful holiday vlog. Thanks! Nooo! Don’t do the summer, it’s madly busy, and expensive if you are hiring. Just bring wellies with you. So far this year we’ve had trips in January and the last fortnight of March. The January trip had high water levels too. Out of season is wonderfully quiet. I’m currently having withdrawal symptoms after our March break, and can’t wait for our next trip in June. And no, we aren’t rolling in money to be able to afford so many hires, we have a share in a syndicate boat. 😊 As someone else has already commented, it would have been helpful if you had been warned to check the weed filters. An overheating engine is the last thing you need chugging up from Great Yarmouth.
I spent a wonderful week back in the 90s on the broads with my friends. It was a bit of a boozy affair - but even at that silly age - you couldn't help but fall in love with the scenery and the relaxing atmosphere of the area. Norwich is also one of the most beautiful cities in the UK. Crossing Bredon Water is the closet you get to taking out the sea us Landlubbers can enjoy without the fear of sea sickness. Great video
I first visited the Norfolk Broads with my family when I was 11 (1968) we covered as much as we could on our first family holiday. The family returned Year after Year unlike I left home to Join the Army in 1976, but the family minus me kept visiting. If you and the rest of your party enjoy it as much as we did it will be the first of many boat trips. Tony in Essex.
It's the kind of thing you want to do once and best outside tourist season. Cheaper prices, less boats, easier moorings and you can get lucky with the weather sometimes. I can't believe you weren't taught daily checks including the filters.
The boat that we hired from Richardson's didn't need daily checks, in fact it didn't need any checks at all. I did ask at the boatyard, but apparently no checks are needed. Maybe Brinks Tempo is the same
You were there the same week we were aboard our boat Lightning. I was wading through 8" of water unplugging our 240v hook up, good fun, but not as much fun as 10 years ago, when i had to do the same in nearly 2ft of water. Good to see you had a great week, but one question, have you ever considered buying a share in one of the syndicate boats?. You will find that once you`ve paid out for the initial share price, the annual maintainance and running costs are cheaper than hiring. Then, if you decide you`ve had enough, sell your share. If you`d like to know more, please let me know.
This was a lovely addition to our summer holiday and although it seems expensive if you add in dog sitting air port parking and restaurant etc I think it's not bad value. We love the pace of the week!
Quote. "Which would you prefer?" The broads every time. When the bug bites, the cost is irrelevant. My wife and I have travelled from Australia to go on the broads ten times. There is no comparison between a boating holiday on the broads and a European hotel.
Hi Brian, no it's not, it required tools and after taking advise from the yards mechanic he told me its something that should not be attempted by us and it could sink the boat. They came out and fixed it and all was good.
Nice vid, but that music!!!! Oh my God.

The broads just can’t be beaten for relaxing magical times afloat
Great to see you made so much of your week on the broads and included the South Broads! Fab VLog. Hope to see you there again. All the best.

Fantastic, i have my own boat, and I love the Norfolk Broads😊

Thanks for the info.
That monotonous music all the way through spoiled it.
Glad I’m not the only one with low tolerance for short constant repetitive sound 😂

Thank you for sharing your family holiday. I agree with you. Go in the warmer months, it's so much better.🙂

@@colincouch3416 Clearly it's something they need to review given your experience.
@@byteme9718 I didn't have any issues at all. A totally problem free week.
Arcle? lol nice video

This is awesome! I presume you hired it from Barnes?! Which boat was it?!
Hi James, that was Tempo 1, same as the Concerto with no middle stair and a bit more modern.
@@alanjkarting nice one mate cheers!
This just happen to come on, I had to switch it off the music would make your head explode 😂
It’s pronounced aykul
I too wondered where Arkle was. Until I saw the map for Acle pronounced Ay cle😊
Music drove me a bit nuts by the end, but a good summary vid.
Those girls need to stop talking! 😀
How did you get on with a hob on tempo one we always have great difficulty with it
Hi Roland, no issues, they must have fixed it.
You could get 2 weeks at a 4 star all inclusive in Tenerife for the same price as a weeks boat rental on the Norfolk Broads. Which would you prefer?

Life jackets?
Hi Dave, yes you are provided life jackets.
Do any of you have a steering certificate ?.
HOLDING FISH WITH DRY HANDS NO NO NO
Only concern is the dog has a life jacket but none of you do whilst underway
Looking at your wake you are too fast 😮
When people are outside on the boat they need to wear a life jacket.
Driving too fast!
Shame you had to have the perch in a towel .. doesn't help there flesh ..
USELESS SO EASY TO EMPTY THE WATER FILTER BY HAND
Hi Brian, no it's not, it required tools and after taking advise from the yards mechanic he told me its something that should not be attempted by us and it could sink the boat. They came out and fixed it and all was good.
Terrible fishing practices...HOLDING A FISH IN A CLOTH...TERRIBLE
