Every 11-14 mustang are the same basic interior except the navigation screen & sound system this is an extra option to pay for it But it comes standard with GT500. 2010 I’m not sure about it
I have a 2012 shelby gt500 with the svtpp. It has the same base model no touch screen stereo you started out with. I think I'm going to upgrade to what you bought.
When I ordered my 2012 Mustang back in August 2011, I took time to research all the options and body color and the value they would bring me. At the time, central display screen was just at its infancy. It wasn't a huge "must have option" as the smartphone was still not a integral part of our lives. Well heck, Bluetooth audio was still a newer thing in cars. With all that said I figured the Entertainment Package which gave you the center touchscreen display and a bunch of other techy stuff wasn't worth the high cost to tack on. On the top of my head it was around $2000. At the time I was just happy with being able to play the radio, or even listen to satellite radio, or even try out the Bluetooth function that was built in rather than needing to install an aftermarket radio. It wasn't till the 2013-14 refreshed Mustang that I noticed the direction of these central displays would be the new norm in cars. A normal expected thing in cars now. I still enjoy my Mustang despite without the Entertainment Package today but had I known where cars would be nowadays, I would've invested into having the option. I rambled enough here. Time to just send the comment.
@@joecool9739 You dont understand that being on instagram or facebook or other social media, wasnt EVERY persons priority at the time. So a screen in your car, apart from your smartphone etc wasnt really a big priority. People bought the Mustang most likely for the muscle car factor, the engine sounding mean, going fast, feeling great while driving it. Same goes for the other ones such as Chargers and Camaros. Compared to now, even your grandpaw is looking at his phones screen probably on facebook talking to other grandmas 😂😂😂. Things have changed a bit
You might want to install the GPS antenna incase you take backroads and lose phone signal. I go on the Hot Rod Power Tour and the route takes all backroads and my phone is basically useless the entire time.
Installed this on my '14 basic car and bought the sirius xm receiver to go with it 2 weeks ago. I absolutely love it. And yes, it will amplify your speakers. Sound is WAY better!
You should check if your speakers are hooked up properly. The volume should not blow you away at such a low setting. The Shaker system has amps. I believe the speakers should be hooked up with the female RCA harness after you get a harness to convert the speaker plug into male RCA’s and hook it up just like you would if you have an after market amps. I may be wrong but you do not want to blow your speakers.
Looks good. Only reason I haven’t gotten after market seats is you lose an airbag safety feature that protects your torso shoulder area, and being a passenger in a bad car accident, I appreciate those.
very smart man...could make all the difference in a bad wreck and as someone thats been in and seen the true horror of highspeed accidents...yes i will never change mine out either! nothing more terrifying then drving the highways everyday with the freaking lunatics on the road. wish they could see and feel the things i have seen/ been through as i promise they would think twice before driving like that.
Install carbridge if you want to use TH-cam or jail brake your iPhone. Also can’t forget that the sync package was an option on the bases. Yes sync the thing that gives you Bluetooth.
@@rinzzy-5480 look it up on TH-cam there are tons of videos about it. Just make sure if not jailbroken install the right one and for the correct iOS like 14, 13 etc. The .7 after iOS doesn’t mater. Just know you can’t go to 15 when it comes out if you want to use car bridge still until they update it.
I have the OEM nav screen that came stock in my 14 5.0 premium, it’s nice, but it’s definitely dated man. It was the same screen used in 2010 models. This is actually better than the stock touch screen. Also, the thing I don’t understand, is mine didn’t come with a back up camera? Idk why someone would spec a touch screen with no back up camera but they did. Regardless, enjoy man! Looks so much better and is better than the stock one.
hey man im looking at installing it on my 14 gt but i wanna know if the steering wheel button still work with this ? i drive on the highway alot and steering wheel buttons are really useful to me
I agree with not needing an expensive iPad as a car screen stereo, I bought a simple aftermarket stereo on my SN a few years ago, I can plug my charger to my phone and to the USB port to jam out, I don’t need a huge screen, plus it’s easy to get it stolen on the SNs than the new cars
Did the same thing with my 2010 Ford Focus 5 speed with Crutchfield. Was a great upgrade. Just for fyi you may need the wire bypass to play videos while the car is moving.
I opted to get a Bose, with GPS, touch screen, and backup camera. Getting ready to install it as soon as it comes in tomorrow. Already took out all the old.
To be fair the base vettes still cost more than a premium GT so I kind of get it but at the same time I understand your point since it is an option for them
I was going to go with the Dynavin because I saw Doty's video but then I saw the exact same unit with different names like Navos. I went with a Kenwood Excelon and the RR Maestro.
Not sure if anyone’s told you in the comments yet or not but if you jailbreak your iPhone you can add/remove apps to CarPlay (aka yes TH-cam in your car)
The dynavin system is one of the first things I did to my 2013! my factory unit was giving me issues and I saw Jacob r doty do it so I did too. Literally it is an absolute have to!!! it is amazing! only issue is my apple car play will act funky sometimes and I have to reach into the glovebox and unplug and re plug the adapter.
Also @derekbaranproductions if you disconnect you usb on the sync module under the glove box. You can keep using the factory usb location for carplay super easy Todo
Honestly the s550, only had the gen 2 coyote but loved everything more about the S550. I much prefer the IRS of the S550 compared to the suspension of the S197, that was by far the largest noticeable difference about daily driving both

You should be able to download the TH-cam app onto the stereo I’m unsure how but i do know it is an option available for those touch screen applications

I’m actually going to buy new speakers for my car as a birthday present next month cause the aftermarket stereo blew them up lol, the tweeters and the door speakers, the rears are still hanging on, but not as clear as I’d want it
I was so upset when I found out my '14 SHO didn't have massage seats(2nd owner. Didnt know that was an option). Thought it'd be soo much extra...massage seats on sticker were like $600. On a $45k+ car, you opt for that.
I realize this vid is 2 years old but American Muscle sells an exact copy by a company named Navos. It looks just like the unit featured here. Unfortunately, it doesn't feature Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. I've been living with my Navos unit for almost 4 years and because it doesn't have those features I'm looking for another unit. Also, it cost me $899 back then and it has an ignition noise and American Muscle told me too bad, they just sell them, they don't stand behind the product....

Cut the ground wire on the back of the receiver. That will allow you to play dvd while driving. 👊🏼

Cool but does the horn work? My horn doesn't work I don't understand why I just bought it last week and the horn isn't working and the fuse is fine.

Looks good, my 18 Ram 2500 has the 8" screen not sure how we went without them LOL. I do have the camera, works awesome backing up to a trailer.
