Nice video. I would imagine this car could run in the low 10.8s under ideal conditions: 95 + % SOC, 70-85 degrees ambient temp, and pre-conditioned warmed up battery. In my 2023 M3P, I dropped my 1/4 from 11.52 to 11.38 by getting to the Goldilocks zone. Very impressive car. Almost makes me regret I blew my wad for an S Plaid. But getting to 130 mph in about 7 seconds is a special feeling, as well as a 4.6 second 60-130.
I'll be interested to see how deep in the 10's people can get when they start swapping wheels and tires. According to Unplugged Performance, Tesla did a pretty good job making these 20 inch wheels fairly light, but I bet we can do better. Maybe even go down in diameter. I believe there are some 18 inch wheels that will fit over the Peformance calipers.
A true 10s, 4 Dr us built family car for 47k after tax credit that gets 100+mpge and can run off the sun=world class&hauls ass to! 👍🏻😎 Imagine if tesla ditched the gen2 heavy big expensive roadster for 200k+added the giga CASTINGS to the m3 chassis and put in even better batteries, then built the 2dr gen2 roadster as a coupe on the m3 chassis instead. Price it at 60-75k probably drop 300# vs 4dr m3p. Oh and instead of 4du put the 4du upfront and a plaid c.f. wrapped motor out back, or one c.f. wrapped plaid motor in the front&back? Might cost nearer to 80k then. 2.2s 0-60mph&185mph top end easy. 😁
A 'used' ICE car with mods can get these times obviously... duhhh many to choose from like a N54/55 old BMW... but a new ICE car that's doing 7 - 8 100 200 kph is more than 47k. BMW M3/M4 S58 is ~ 8.0 - 8.2 seconds(that's what mine did). 2024 Supra 8A (S58) with a e.g., JB+ ($199.00 little gizmo) can do 8.3 (i know cause i have one sitting here). A 2024 RS3 with JB4 (not recommended but no flash tune yet...) running Map 3 on E30 can do 8.3... the car next to my Supra ;) New Mustang GT or Camaro LT1 10A (cheapest V8 muscle car) won't reach 8.3 100 - 200 kph. My 2022 LT1 10A did about ~9.2. Now if you're talking 'modded' new car like E85 Mustang GT with FBO then yes... but then there goes the warranty :) New Elantra N (again forget the warranty) with Lap3 Hybrid Meth setup (there's a 6A EN with this setup that still lost against previous model M3P in quarter) hit 7s 60 - 130! 35k for the car and another 4 - 6k in mods; more or less depending if you do all the work (hybrid turbo, meth kit, tuner & tune, down pipe, upgraded clutch for 6A, motor mounts... installation yes no). Overall the 2024 M3P is the best bang for the buck now and you won't screw your warranty. It's already doing 10's! Throw on some lighter wheels &/ rotors and do some other weight reductions (mats, rear seats... owners manual :P whatever) coupled with 90% SOC and air conditioning (joke pre-conditioning lol) should yield mid 10s.
