Étienne Aigner used to be really, really high quality. I have an absolutely lovely bag, about 20 years old, in their signature Antic Red and it is lovely thick leather and shows no aging at all. The current Aigner bags are not the same at all.
I love museums! When i go abroad, museums are my Number One go to attraction! the Colombo bags are certainly expensive, but exotic, so that is to be expected. And I suppose it may be an established 'old money' brand in Italy? Thank you for the video! It is EPIC! (I love the look of that non-Birkin boutique!)
Anesu Sagonda talks about Colombo bags in one of her videos, as well as other less well known Italian brands if you're interested. Despite never buying luxury I love watching Anesu and Sophie; both help me analyse what to look for at any price.
I had Aigner bags n shoes in the 80s n loved them. My aunts had them in the 70s n they were THE thing in preppy circles. Wondered what happened to them.
It’s also easy to rent a car to drive out of Milan to serravalle luxury outlet ( 1.5-2hrs drive one way ) where they have lots of luxury brand like Prada , Missoni , Zegna , D&G etc
I love museums. Thank you for taking us to Italy with you! I can't wait to go back again! I dream of the day and enjoy watching videos about it. Enjoy!
I went during the spring this year and most of the trip was raining a lot too only few good days in Florence and was quite hot. Nice trip, can’t wait for your take on the Florence boutiques I did buy some bags, sandals… a hat… to many nice things 🤣
My mom had a Étienne Aigner bag in the mid 70’s. I haven’t seen them in the US for years, but my mom loved hers. Every time I see the “a” logo…I think of her 🙏🏼. I believe the company just is Aigner now. Thank you for window shopping here ❤
Those bags you focused on with the unique shape remind me of a dress bodice with fancy sleeves! I love the architectural nature of them and the unique colors! So interesting. That speckled one was so pretty!
Yes, please museum footage! Of course, if David minds the filming and would like to look at the sights and museums in peace I understand but I’m totally interested.
I am a Curator so I love museums, and my specialism is Venetian art - every holiday I go on is a busman's holiday. I'm delighted to see Milan through your eyes. There are some great art galleries near where you have been window shopping ... looking at the glass &c is via Montenapoleone. The Brera has the most beautiful collection of paintings from the early Renaissance, or even earlier to the 19C. The Poldi Pezzoli (Fine and Decorative Art) is 5 minutes from the area where the glass shop is. Seeing Milan as I eat my breakfast this morning before work is such a treat for me. Thank you, Sophie! 🙂
I love watching you showing what’s available in London but I would absolutely enjoy looking around museums in Milan, hope you had a wonderful time. xxx
@Sophie 🎉 Thanks so much for sharing your time in amazing and fashionable Milan. People there really do know how to be stylish. I think a visit to a museum beside the shopping spree would be wonderful!!!! 🎉🎉❤❤
Hi Sophie! I would love to see the local museum! Milan has always been on my bucket list of places to visit. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.❤
When I was in Milan is stayed at the Boscolo Milano and they had such good breakfasts, the rooms were funky when I went and they had like 12 different types of soap in the shower, def recommend AND a roof top view of the duomo
So nice to see you and David enjoying a holiday. Love the vlog and enjoy museums and stuff other than shopping. Was nice to see unique merchandise...cute bags and mutant glass. You seem more like yourself these last 4 / 5 videos. Glad to see you happy and thriving again! Enjoy the rest of your trip. 😊
I loved part two as much as part one. Thank you for taking me along on your trip. I'm sorry you had to tour around in the rain, but you seem to have had a wonderful time! I'm sitting at my computer on a chilly rainy day in New York. I would love to see your tour of a museum.
Sophie! So many of us have loved you for years. Any content you post we will enjoy. We just love seeing you as you really brighten up our weeks with your videos. Id be happy to watch the museum content 😅
Maria Sole Ferragamo is the granddaughter of Salvatore Ferragamo. She had a pop up to launch her jewellery in London in 2016. It’s good to see her brand growing from strength to strength as the concept and ethos of her product is very interesting. I predict she will be one to watch for the future.
Both of these videos have been so lovely, so much fun. The shops are interesting but the street scenes and the food offerings are also. Thanks so much for sharing.
I am pretty interested in museums. Therefore, I would love it if you could show us where you went. Enjoy your holidays to the fullest 🎉🎉🎉 Cheerful greetings Sylvie
I love all your vlogs! It’s nice to see David order something other than a burger and fries lol. I’m a foodie and shopaholic at heart not really a museum fan but I do enjoy anything you post. All my love to you, David and the bunnies. Xoxo Amrita 💕
I have absolutely loved these vlogs Sophie, it’s been a real treat to see around Milan and the shops, thank you. Love the So Le bags very much they are gorgeous, but think I’d struggle with the small opening ❤.
Of course we’d love to see a museum! It’s part of the whole experience I suppose…. I mean it’s Italy and there’s so much to see!! Thank you for asking , have a great trip ❤
I didn't see this until next day, but we've seen on BBC Instagram that Milan and Como areas have been experiencing really bad flooding. It must have started whilst you were there, with all that rain. Lake Como overran its banks apparently. Those unusual bags that were made of offcuts looked like they might be really hard to open, close, and put things in. Probably just as well you didn't get one. Your travel vlogs are my absolute favorites, Sophie! Thank you for sharing.
Hello Sophie, Lovely vlog - I'm sorry you got so soaked! Interesting tidbit, in the mid 80s, my now husband and I had the only Etienne Aigner concept boutique in North America. The quality was great and their burgundy Cordova leather bags and shoes are classics. I collect the bags from the 60s-90s before the brand was sold over here and the quality suffered. It was lovely to see the store! I've put it on my must-see list. Thanks!
I would love to see the museums as I going to them. I agree 1000% that I want to buy stuff that I can't get back home. Italy is know for their leather-shoes and purses and they also have gorgeous wools.
Shame about the weather but it seems you missed the flooding. Hope Florence went well. The Palazzo Reale/Royal Palace next to the Cathedrale/Duomo is a great museum.
I would love to see a museum! I love art and history.
yes to museum footage. love your travel vlogs.

Sophie, this is one of my favorite videos you've done. I love discovering niche brands like the one's featured here. Please, please, keep it up.
I like the Aigner bags that are half and half colorblocked. I have some clothes like this, and they would go with them perfectly. (Jan Griffiths).
Love museums. Aigner has been one of my chosen brands for over 50 years
