Lovely paintings. Do you use matt or gloss varnish and though i know the difference, what are the preferences or benefits for each please? Should we always varnish our finished painting? Thank you in advance x
Thank you so much. I've found matte varnish can leave a painting looking a bit dull, where as some level of gloss makes the colors really pop.
You want to be careful making it too glossy as it can create glares in the paintings.

Nice! My varnish sometimes drags marks made with POSCA pens. Do you ever encounter this?
Yes! I’ve found this as well. :/ Something that helps though is if you spray a workable fixative to set it in place, then varnish over that. Should solve the bleeding!
