    Here's my issue....time. I know I waste it. I feel overwhelmed with caretaking and sick senior dogs, commissions, etc. I want to start a TH-cam channel, but I don't know how to edit videos. I don't feel like I have time for learning all that, so instead, I buy "things" that will come in handy when I start my TH-cam, and that's as far as I get. I need to get my webpage going. I haven't finished it. I think I have so many things that I think I should be doing to be successful and all I get is overwhelmed and more and more supplies. Maybe I'm scared to fail. I really don't know. Thanks for this video though. I'm happy for your success.

      I know exactly how you feel as I have been there. I understand being a caretaker can be very draining emotionally and even physically. My challenge to you would be try and shift your mindset from “I can’t” to “how can I?” I realize sometimes even that shift can be daunting and a challenge. Life has seasons… some are more fruitful and energetic than others. At the end of the day, you have the answer within you. And when you’re ready, you will not only know, but you will hold space for the things which you’ve always want to do. The tiniest steps can have the biggest impact. ❤️

    This is so me. I'm getting back into art after so many years and trying to find my style. I spent SO much time researching and watching "how to find your art style" and not doing much art. I finally realized I was just scared to create the funky (not in a good way) art that comes along with that style quest, but finally committed to doing some art everyday. I basically made an appointment with myself for 30 minutes a day to sketch and it made all the difference. We all take care of a lot of people in our lives, but we need to also make our goals a priority.
    Thank you for posting this, Ginny! It helps to know a professional artist goes through this, too. Take care and looking forward to your content as a new sub.

      I love this!! Sounds like the artists dates from the book The Artists Way, which I’m a big fan of!! As it pertains to art style, I’m in the camp of explore it and embrace the potential range of styles that you may unearth. No need to pigeon hole to one set or dedicated thing forever. The core of who you are will always be represented in your art…. But there will be shifts here and there both personally and artistically.
      Basically, don’t stress it too much and just make art that you enjoy making and that you like. It’s okay if it changes over time, that’s totally natural. Oh, and it’s totally okay to make funky or ugly or bad art… all just part of the process! ❤️Proud you’re back to creating.. it’s so important!!!

    Everything you said in this video is ME 🤯!
    Over the last few years, I've slowly 🐌 been coming to the conclusion of just starting. I've always liked the known and predictable rather than the unknown and unpredictable. I didn't know my beliefs were limiting me and that perfectionism isn't a good thing. It kept me from starting.

    Your video popped up on my feed at just the right time. I started TH-cam about a year ago, and then I quit; it just became too much to try to fit in with everything else I had going on at the time. That said, I've recently been considering starting it up again, especially in the last couple of days, and then I saw this video today. All that to say, I'm very thankful that you decided to post this video, and even more so for the message (and proof) that it's never too late to try (or start) again...and, as you put it, all that remains now is that I "just start." Thanks again, Ginny, and best of luck to you as you continue your personal and professional journeys!! 💫

    • @GinnyStLawrence
      @GinnyStLawrence  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I understand exactly. For me, going outside and taking a walk for 20-30 minutes, journaling, and trying to identify why I have friction around a certain thing typically helps me. Then I set a timer for 5 minutes, and do the thing until the timer goes off. If I want more time, I keep going. If I’m annoyed/demotivated, I stop. But at least I gave it 5 minutes. Hope this helps you! ❤️

    Solid Advice. I tend to throw myself 100% into something and then realizing I chewed off waaaaaay too much. So currently trying to increase my videos, but wanting to 'do or die' (once again) I figured I'd jump straight back into once a week a long form video, which in reality is a huge stretch with the time I have available. So now I'm trying to show up at least twice a month with long form content and 2 times a week with shorts. Just until that becomes normal and runs smooth and then increase the amount I publish. It's those small micro changes. Funny enough, I actually just started applying that to household chores. Instead of mopping my entire floor, hurting myself and exhausting myself in the process, I just do a small section every day for the week and it's clean by the end of the week (just to be messed up again by 4 kids, but at least I don't feel overwhelmed).

    Random question: what are you using to create the handwriting animation at the end?

    • @GinnyStLawrence
      @GinnyStLawrence  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! Final Cut Pro on the iPad has the option for “handwriting” which allows for you to hand write something and it overlays onto a specific video clip. You can adjust how fast or slow it writes, etc. Kinda neat! There is also a way to do it in Fresco! But I typically just use what’s native to the editing app there in Final Cut on the iPad! Let me know if you have any follow up questions on this!
