@@GT-Oldschool 👍💖 I feel Blessed to have experienced these three Musical Geniuses in real time - I was 17 (back in 1978...) when I heard this one for the first time, while watching the movie "Saturday Night Fever" with John Travolta...💕
I am laughing sooo hard ... " Let's just take a moment to wallow in the beauty(gloriousness ??) of Barry's hair'' Best statement ever made about his most beautiful locks!! I agree 100%..(& I'm a greatgrmother in my 70's) Haha
The Bee Gees were a literal hit machine throughout most of their careers, either writing for themselves or others. Their apex might be the disco-era, but you can find gems at every stage of their career. I'd humbly request "This Is Where I Came In" from their final album of the same name.
I hope you do more of the Bee Gees, and on a side note: Barry is one GORGEOUS man, everything about him. That man has more talent than a tiny island, it's insane. I could look and listen to them all day long. Thank you again!!
These three Musical Geniuses knew how to adapt to every decade that they faced - they Blessed all of us with nearly 50 years of amazing harmonies, incredible lyrics and outstanding tunes! Three brothers that became Legends in their own lifetime... 💖💖💖
Actually its not a confederate flag. Its a state flag. You can learn all kinds of cool things like that if you learn to Google search. You're welcome:)
I just watched a video with Barry Gibb in it where he was being interviewed and he said that when staying alive was recorded and both songs were presented to John Travolta to choose for the dance scene in The Disco he said I can't dance to staying alive he said but I struct to that and that's how the opening scene became so iconic.
The BEE GEEs, (the Brothers Gibb), music, (and hair styles), helped define the American scene back in the 70'ds and 80's. Soooo much great music from them..!
..... How does a person reach adulthood without hearing "Stayin' Alive" at least once in their lives? It's in so many movies, tv shows, and commercials... that i really have to say... "Oh, yes you have"
Some of these reactors are younger than you think. Not only that, but Empress isn't from America and doesn't live there either. So really you're nitpicking over nothing at all.
There are a lot of places where they are just starting to hear music and watch tv shows that have been around here forever. Some countries are still seeing knight rider for the first time. So, yes, many people who have grown up here and Europe and Australia are watching present day shows and listening to present day music. But you forget that many countries didn't grow up with the same things we did. Watch the original Karate Kid. When he went to Japan in part 2, they were dancing to 50's and 60's music. They caught up with us but many countries are just catching up. Don't take it for granted that everyone on this planet lived the same way we did. And don't assume people have heard or seen something that we all did as kids. I was in west Germany in the 80's and they were seeing things on tv and hearing songs that were already out of the popular category here in the United States.
I loved your reaction here Empress. You started on a very low key not knowing the song and then when you started to slowly adapt and groove, you really were into it. I loved it. Barry is so much more handsome now in his 70s. Thanks for the great reaction.
The Bee Gees started out as a family singing group as kids, from Queensland Australia. And just as thewheel73 said below, they turned out to be a hit machine, writing songs for themselves and others. They had a contract with an Australian record company, and would arrive, sit in the waiting room and churn out hits, one after the other. Then sometime in the 70’s the record company fired them, and so they left Australia and went to the U.S. That’s when their success really took off. They were such a great group. At the time of this writing 24/03/2021, Barry Gibb is the only surviving brother.
It makes you want to get a pair of bell bottoms and stacks find a time machine and head on back to better times with a m. radios and 8 track tapes!! If you can not remember those days then you missed all the good stuff. Who loves you baby!!!
Fun fact - this song is officially approved (at least in Sweden) for using in CPR (well, quietly humming for yourself) to help keeing the right pace, thanks to the perfect beat speed.
My kids used to ask me how does he hold that note for so long, I told them his pants were too tight! They believed me. Ha!Ha!Ha! Of course I told them the truth!I l loved your reaction!
You are enjoying the music and I am enjoying your reaction. This music makes me want to dance with you! Your smile outshines the sun! Thank you dear lady.
I started listening to music with them after watching Saturday Night Fever. The record shop owner said it was strange for a 12yo kid to buy Bee Gees cassettes in the early '90s. After almost 30 years, even if I now listen to hard rock, I still love their music and Holiday is one of my favourite songs.
The one thing that is most important about this song, it can save lives. The beat is the perfect time for hands only cpr, if you sing the song and press down on each beat you are doing it at the right speed to keep the person alive.
Love, LOVE, L - O - V - E Your reaction to this tune💕 - especially Your smile as You're hearing Sir Barry Gibb's incredibly SMOOTH falsetto voice...👍😄 I was 16 at the time (back in 1977...) this one was released - hearing it while watching John Travolta walking in the opening scene of the movie "Saturday Night Fever". It made me smile from ear to ear, and I wanted to get out of my seat and MOVE!!! Today, 43 years later, it has the very same effect on me, every time I hear it - and now (at 59...), I don't care where I am - when this song comes on, I just DO get up and MOVE!!!💃😃 (At the time this music video was done, Barry was 31 [born in 1946...], his younger brothers Robin and Maurice [twins, born in 1949...] were 28 - and they started performing together at a very young age - singing together in harmony [in England - and there are video clips of them on TH-cam...], from the mid 1950's when the twins were six and Barry was nine...) Today, Sir Barry Gibb is the last BeeGee brother standing - his brother Maurice went to Heaven in 2003, Robin in 2012... However, Sir Barry Gibb is still composing and singing - now with his children and niece, Samantha (Maurice's daughter...)... Yes, Barry (and his hair...) made many a young lady weak in the knees, way back when (looking at Your face [as You're watching Barry in this video...], I think a "Welcome to the club, my friend!" is in order...😉 😄)... However, he's been happily married (since 1970...) to his leading Lady (Linda...) for 50+ years...💕 The fact that You have the curiosity to listen to tunes from (for You...) "back in the day", makes my heart sing!💕 (If You haven't already, check out "Jive Talking", "Too Much Heaven" and "One" by these three Musical Geniuses!)
Oh no, this was definitely not their first song or video. They originally began singing in the late 1950s in their native UK. They moved to Australia then returned to Britain around 1966 or 67 and then began having hit songs charting in the USA. They changed their style of music about 1975 or so
In case you haven't seen it yet, get the movie Saturday Night Fever (1977) where you will hear many more Bee Gees hits and other great music. It'll give you a sense of that late 70s era. In 1978 they had four of theirs in Billboard's Top 5 Hits for a week, and several other hits that year, breaking a lot of records, largely fueled by that movie.
I don't care who you are, you hear that bass line and you dance.
“Can we just take a moment to wallow in the glouriousness of Barrys hair” 😂 thats enough for me, I’ll subscribe
Aww! Thanks Joe 🙏

Hey hey I really needed that today...how did you know..lol !!
Now I DITTO it right back to you !!!
These guys literally OWNED the airwaves back then...just sayin'........
Guido Sarducci You aren’t wrong ‘bout that.
They still do, and their music is continually used in adverts and movies and series to this day.
Well.. not literally. They figuratively OWNED the airwaves
@Jack Bauer nah
@Jack Bauer I'm well aware of what it means, I disagree that people who use the word "literally" are using it hyperbolically.
the Bee Gee's were an amazing group
Unfortunately there is only one brother left in the middle
all others are dead
@@Meliaduel and do you think that’s news to anyone here?
Great dance music; and since i could dance and was newly single it certainly helped my love life

Bee Gees are legendary and incomparable. They are featured in the Book Of Guiness as the most successful songwriters of all kind.
Sori should have been songwriters of all time.
As I did mention in a previous video, your face just lights up. It's so beautiful.
Yes, we can wallow in Barry's hair. He's definitely good looking lol.
This is exactly how music should make you feel. Loving the chair dancing.
