Nice flushing machine & the only way to do the job once, properly. You have a tough job as mobile mechanics working outside in all weathers; but from what I've seen on your videos I'd trust you to do a better job than 95% of garages or even main dealers 👍.
Your supposed to fill the gearbox oil on the merc and run it up to temp. Then recheck the fluid level. Not sure on that model if you need to run the bleed procedure but deffo on the a45.
For any gearbox, that is the only way that you wanna do it really. Good thing about this machine is you DONT NEED to bleed after flushing as it was connected within the circuit circuit so it was never ‘emptied’. It was as basically getting drained whilst being filled, if I’m making sense?
@@themarvelousvlog Is this not a box with the filter in the sump then? I thought that with autos you normally had to drain out all the fluid from the box (granted not torque converter or cooler) to replace the filter?
As I mentioned in the video, filter was also replaced, just lost the footage. Steps that I took: 1. Get the flush in the system (lost footage as well unfortunately) 2. Drain the level sump only and replace filter 3. Once sump is back on, perform the exchange 4. As in the video, if the level sump is not tipping, keep adding fluid in until it does and wait for it to stop tipping. That machine makes it very very very simple
@@themarvelousvlog ok - thanks for the reply! I was confused because you'd said in the comments that the box was never emptied so didn't need bleeding, and the video kind of implied it just changed all the fluid by pumping in new as old came out. But I was thinking you'd have to drain the main box to take its sump off to do the filter, like just said you did. So the machine is kind of doing the torque converter/cooler etc., but the box you've basically already done the old-school way to do the filter.
I got a one year old Toyota auris hybrid 2015 plate with 28,890 miles on it , I have changed the cvt transmission fluid twice now and it’s pretty easy to do, as you say the manufacture said it’s a life time fluid, but you can notice the difference in the old fluid being blackish, this car is pretty simple to change oil, oil filter, cvt fluid, engine fluid and the converter fluid that cools the hybrid system, but if I had bought the newer auris I would have to take it to a mechanic to have it done, it was a shame you put the wrong atf in your bleeding machine as they probably wouldn’t want it back , and it’s not cheap stuff to perches, good to see you and brother making good content, my car has done 149,576 miles and still running good.
CVT gearboxes ain't like normal auto gearboxes. And regular changing of CVT gearbox oil is a great investment if you are keeping the vehicle for a year or two.

No tool is perfect but the best one I’ve come across is definitely the Launch Euro Tab 3. If you’re starting up, I’ve got a new tool coming and I will be leaving a review of it 2-3 videos from now on
It all depends on your budget, requirements, skillset, and how committed you are really. If you're not 100% committed or are starting on a tight budget I'd recommend something basic, you'd be surprised how much you can diagnose even without full capabilities. TopDon are a great brand and the software is basically the same as Launch, I have friends who are very happy with their stuff but personally I like Autel, more on the pricey side but I use it on every job so it paid for itself very quickly. You can always buy better later down the line or even outsource diag to main dealer if you're struggling as long as you've priced for it. One thing I will say is avoid Bosch, I've spoke to people who rate them very highly but in my experience everything is too overcomplicated and difficult to navigate, I've lost hours trying to faff around with Bosch only to find it's not actually capable of doing what I was trying to do. There is one I've seen advertised that I'm quite interested to try, iCarly or something? It's aimed more at consumers but it's cheap, mobile based and supposedly very capable for what it is. Ultimately, though, it's just one of those annoying things, no tool is perfect so if you're going mobile sadly you're going to end up with a few of them lol.
@@themarvelousvlog I bought some ATF for my sprinter automatic gearbox I was sent genuine oil which was green, but they sent red before that which I was told not to use. I have 5 gals of red oil which I will never use now and it is not cheap. You must change the filter in the gearbox which requires the sump on the box removing and a new rubber gasket.
Be that guy mate, no offence taken here; end of the day, we are all here to learn. I’ll be more happy to receive criticism than forever looking like an idiot 😅

Great to see you two back with a video.
Next Launch will sell you a machine to make sure there’s enough air in the cab so nobody suffocates while driving. And blinker fluid.

Top tip, don't change any oils on lock block driveways. I learnt the hard way. Lock blocks now stained. 😂

You service RG, i have a 4 series ZF needing services its on 67k miles. What you guys charge for this service?
What you think about the wet blet on ford tourneo 9 seater
100 bar = more than 1450 psi ,thats a lot !
I get my tx4 auto box service once a yr with 2 filters
Great bit of kit that mate. Can you do an audi a7 3.0 gearbox oil like that.

where did you get that febi Bilstein head cap from? I love it
I got it from the Febi stand during UKGBE in Birmingham
WTF, ATF, FFS ……. BFF ❤❤❤ Where’s Kerbside…… cameraman perhaps? 😂😂😂
Question will this do any automatic cars looking to replace my fluids on my corsa
Most automatic cars yes. Depends on which gearbox you’ve got
Great job as usual. Aren't these just glorified Navaras ?
Yes but not really 😂 Mercedes tweaked the x-class from the original Nissan design but yes, they do share the same blueprint

Where you based ? Can you change a battery on a Porsche Cayenne ? Hertfordshire
Hi mate, binged watched all your vids. Do manual gearboxes need fluid change?
Yes they do! Vehicle manufacturers will say ‘sealed/lifetime’ but really, you wanna be replacing it every 80k or so
has the gearbox got a filter inside it ?
Yes it does… it was also replaced but footage was lost, as mentioned in the video

how much is that mechine
I believe £4k and it comes with all the fittings that you might need

hey lads i have vw golf i.6 tdi dsg it states that i have a sealed transmission that vw told me the gearbox oil never has to be change are they right
Every fluid in a vehicle is serviceable- I don’t see why they’d say that…
The VAG DSG gearboxes have always needed a fluid change every 40k miles so unless it has changed whoever told you that is wrong.
