- Hey guys! In this video I will give you great visuals of how much your puppy needs to eat everyday. Puppies need to eat three times a day. No if's and's or but's.. THREE times a day, until they are about 4 months old. Puppies that are "Toy Breeds" may eat 4-6 small meals a day to meet their nutritional needs. Examples of Toy Breeds are chihuahuas, yorkies, Pomeranians, shitzus and miniature schnauzers and more. Large breed puppies (labradors, dobermans, boxers, Australian shepherd ect) are just fine eating 3 big meals a day. In this video I show you a chart that will tell you exactly how many cups to feed your puppy depending on their weight. If you follow that chart you won't go wrong with feeding your puppy the right amount of food. If you are ever in doubt just always feed your puppy more food than less. In this video you will meet Luke who is a 4 month old Aussie Doodle, he is 20lbs and eats about 3-4 cups of food, three times a day.

I recently adopted 2 cane Corso puppies. They are brother and sister they were 9 and 12 pound's at 8 week's. They are now 12 weeks the Hera is at 20 pound's and Zeus is at 25. They still eat 3x per day but cooking for them has helped them alot and this video helps me out with the amount to give them. Thank you

Do you feed her a 1/4 cup every meal time out of the four times a day, or is it 1/4 cup in total divided into the 4 meal times a day

For those who don’t understand her it is 1 cup of food split up into 3 times a day she has three bowls separating those meals which means they are not getting 1 cup 3 times that is way to much food. She is measuring by pounds and the second is 2 cups for all day split up and so on

Love your channel and the useful info u have to share. I have two whippets 9 weeks old and we were told by the breeder to feed him 1 cup of food TID and the last meal we offer is at 7:30 but breakfast is not until 7-8:30 am , isn’t this too log from the last meal till breakfast? We are a bit unsure what to do because we wake them up to use the bathroom but sometimes it takes a little while to get them settled back to sleep as they can be whiney and just thinking they could be hungry.

When we get our new Maltese puppy at the end of January, don't we need to gradually transition her from what the breeder was using? Also, what do you recommend with fresh raw foods for the maltese?

Stay away from the Hills brand full of crap…pretty much all kibble are snd never mix wet food with kibble it messes with their PH level!

It’s nice to see the amounts however the amounts are very different for people who cook, feed raw, or feed Freshpet. I have my nutrical ready for my new tiny chihuahua puppy (picking him up 8/7). So ready!!

Actually it will better if you have a complete measurement cups. I have from 1/4 until 1 cup and even have mililiters cups for my kitchen equipments and now i used it for feed my 7 weeks old Beagle puppy. I prefer give her 1/4 cup of kibble with a half of boiled fresh chicken liver every meal, 3 times a day. I also put her kibble on toys just for snack, but i make sure its not much than 1/4 cup for whole day. So in total she will eat less than 1 cup with 1 and a half fresh chicken liver everyday.
I put a small amount of wet food in the microwave for a few seconds then add a spoonful of water (test the temperature with a clean finger). It then can be mashed up really easily and make a tasty, fragrant sauce for the kibble for a picky dog. I do this as more wet food would make my dog have loose stools but dry kibble is too boring and results in weight loss.
Same here for my standard poodle. Dry kibble isn’t worth his time. Trying to find the right mixture of wet to dry so he has firmer stools.
I got a black lab, named Marty. I'm adding raw meat to his kibble but not as a replacement. Do you take any kibble out though so that you're not adding too many calories?

Edit: i have a question, my puppy was sick for the past week, shes better now and we gave her medication that the vet recommended, she also gave us a supplement that looked like the one you showed. My parents don’t give it to my puppy anymore, but should we still give her daily?
A Rottie puppy at 8 months, (small bear), will go through that bag plus 4 tall cans of wet food per day, plus several squirrels, crows, rabbits, and beavers. You can substitute 1 six year old human child or a small calf or medium sheep in place of the live animals.

I just got an 8 week old Keeshond and today he has an upset stomach. He pooped in his crate which isn’t normal and it seems like he was trying to throw up earlier. He does happen to be going through a food transition so i think thats why he’s not feeling the best, but is there anything you’d recommend for food transitions because I feel like I’m not doing this right :/
Who would want to feed their dog a food with whole grain wheat and whole grain corn which are two of the top 5 ingredients of the formula. That is the hills science food on the counter by the way.

What do u recommend doing regarding treats?! I know one option is using the kibble they will eat for lets say lunch so as to not go over caloric intake. But if someone were to use pieces of chicken or another high value treat how exactly would someone put that in to account in daily caloric intake for 8 week corgi for example which is what im getting soon

Hi everyone, I've read on many pet guides as well as heard from many veterinarians that the amount of wet food should replace a portion of the recommended daily feeding amount on the dry puppy food bag rather than in addition to the dry food amounts. In this video, she gives the wet food on top of the dry food amounts. Isn't this wrong?
I give my American Bully puppy Blue Buffalo's Lamb and Oatmeal...when he becomes an adult I will give him Blue Buffalo's Lamb and Brown Rice...he has muscles and a shiny coat...he loves it!

Be careful following the bag's recommendation. I overfed my cairn terrier by almost twice as much as needed doing that. Definitely ask your vet. A breeder should know the correct amount.

So I have a toy poodle and I’ve been feeding my puppy close to a cup of food a day. I go over that most days for sure and she’s now about 7 pounds at 6 months. I’m sure I over feed her a bit and I like to feed her once a day or put about a cup in her bowl and let her eat it throughout the day. I don’t think my puppy is in need of the syrup because she does eat pretty well and isn’t thin. But I’m not sure if I can get away with just feeding her the full amount once and then add the syrup if I’m going to be away and can’t feed her twice.
My yorkie is 13wks and weighs 1.5kgs. I am quite confused as to how much to feed her when the guide lines are 1/2 to 1 cup. Do you give 1/2 or 1 cup. She is on Royal Canin puppy starter kibble size xs. 4 x meals per day. Going onto RC puppy mini soon. Please help with amounts to feed. Loved your video. Thank you.
When they have 2 suggestions for the same weight it's based on activity level. Like a larger terrier of the same weight is generally more active than a bassett hound. So base it on that. I personally recommend splitting the day into 2 feedings (of course if your dog is a good free feeder then 1 is fine). If your dog finishes everything and is still looking do a bit more. If there's food left often feed less. My Yorkie cross only does half a cup (often a bit less) of her food (more calorie dense than RC or hills).

Although this is a puppy video, I feel like it'll help with my adult dogs. I've been struggling whether to feed them once or twice a day because I don't want to overfeed them and get fat (pls don't judge.) I understand now if it's 2 or 3 cups a day, it's in parts; morning and night.
Ive been told my dogs are healthy, especially my english bull dog. Been trying to keep her on a diet. She was a bit overweight few years back. Her bowl was filled to the top and she would eat whenever. Now I just feed her once or twice a day, and on the weekend I like to add stuff in their kibble, like, fruits, treats, water, etc. I love my dogs and always looking for ways to make their food enjoyable.

I have a 10 lb blue French bull dog born August 31st we've been feeding only wet food 1 big can a day but we want to try dry and wet mixed he will literally not eat dry food hates it he will starve hisself if we even try but we've been feeding purina pro plan puppy (turkey) and he's having digestive and bathroom wise issues with Diahrea and throwing up and were about to switch to Hill science ...after 1 day of 3 small sample cans of a prescription digestion chicken stew(btw he is in love) these problems all disappear which as a vet I'm sure your aware is usually not the case but he did awesome like a total 180 no loose stools and no vomiting the new vet I'm going to claims there's no way it's an allergy but I definitely feel like it may be after watching the difference 1 day has made but they gave me a can for adult dogs is that ok or is there an option for puppies that is a stew and aids in good digestion/sensitive tummy iv been told I chose a boujie Breed by the vet and that they do tend to have many problems but given no advice
