- Hey guys! In this video I will give you great visuals of how much your puppy needs to eat everyday. Puppies need to eat three times a day. No if's and's or but's.. THREE times a day, until they are about 4 months old. Puppies that are "Toy Breeds" may eat 4-6 small meals a day to meet their nutritional needs. Examples of Toy Breeds are chihuahuas, yorkies, Pomeranians, shitzus and miniature schnauzers and more. Large breed puppies (labradors, dobermans, boxers, Australian shepherd ect) are just fine eating 3 big meals a day. In this video I show you a chart that will tell you exactly how many cups to feed your puppy depending on their weight. If you follow that chart you won't go wrong with feeding your puppy the right amount of food. If you are ever in doubt just always feed your puppy more food than less. In this video you will meet Luke who is a 4 month old Aussie Doodle, he is 20lbs and eats about 3-4 cups of food, three times a day.

Do you feed her a 1/4 cup every meal time out of the four times a day, or is it 1/4 cup in total divided into the 4 meal times a day
Great information. I'm about to have a Kishu-ken hunting dog and the local hunters also recommended Science Diet. The only difference is I will be adding boiled venison and powdered milk (child's formula) and a little bit of rice, which was also recommended by Kishu breeders.

A Rottie puppy at 8 months, (small bear), will go through that bag plus 4 tall cans of wet food per day, plus several squirrels, crows, rabbits, and beavers. You can substitute 1 six year old human child or a small calf or medium sheep in place of the live animals.

For those who don’t understand her it is 1 cup of food split up into 3 times a day she has three bowls separating those meals which means they are not getting 1 cup 3 times that is way to much food. She is measuring by pounds and the second is 2 cups for all day split up and so on

We are getting out puppy this Saturday. He is blenhaim Cavalier king charles spaniel. It is gonna be so exciting!

I recently adopted 2 cane Corso puppies. They are brother and sister they were 9 and 12 pound's at 8 week's. They are now 12 weeks the Hera is at 20 pound's and Zeus is at 25. They still eat 3x per day but cooking for them has helped them alot and this video helps me out with the amount to give them. Thank you

Stay away from the Hills brand full of crap…pretty much all kibble are snd never mix wet food with kibble it messes with their PH level!

Love your video.... I'll check out your channel regularly for feeding/caring dogs.
I put a small amount of wet food in the microwave for a few seconds then add a spoonful of water (test the temperature with a clean finger). It then can be mashed up really easily and make a tasty, fragrant sauce for the kibble for a picky dog. I do this as more wet food would make my dog have loose stools but dry kibble is too boring and results in weight loss.
Same here for my standard poodle. Dry kibble isn’t worth his time. Trying to find the right mixture of wet to dry so he has firmer stools.

I give my American Bully puppy Blue Buffalo's Lamb and Oatmeal...when he becomes an adult I will give him Blue Buffalo's Lamb and Brown Rice...he has muscles and a shiny coat...he loves it!

So I have a toy poodle and I’ve been feeding my puppy close to a cup of food a day. I go over that most days for sure and she’s now about 7 pounds at 6 months. I’m sure I over feed her a bit and I like to feed her once a day or put about a cup in her bowl and let her eat it throughout the day. I don’t think my puppy is in need of the syrup because she does eat pretty well and isn’t thin. But I’m not sure if I can get away with just feeding her the full amount once and then add the syrup if I’m going to be away and can’t feed her twice.

Hi everyone, I've read on many pet guides as well as heard from many veterinarians that the amount of wet food should replace a portion of the recommended daily feeding amount on the dry puppy food bag rather than in addition to the dry food amounts. In this video, she gives the wet food on top of the dry food amounts. Isn't this wrong?

I know I'm not the vet, but the answer is yes. All puppies should be on 3 meals a day (at least. she talks about toy breeds) until about 4 months old :)

It’s nice to see the amounts however the amounts are very different for people who cook, feed raw, or feed Freshpet. I have my nutrical ready for my new tiny chihuahua puppy (picking him up 8/7). So ready!!

My 8 pound maltese X eats one cup of food a day. If you tried to feed a 3 pound maltese all that food, it would explode. The feeding guide might say to feed a certain amount but the reality is that your dog is an individual and if it doesn’t want to stuff its face until it explodes, don’t force it
Ok question? I just got 2 maltipoo boys 3 mo old and if I incorporate the wet food, will their bowel movements be really soft? Right now, I’m weening them off beneful and adding Blue Royal to the beneful because I was told by the previous owner they would get bad diarrhea if I just immediately incorporate the Blue Royal. Hi there! Whenever you decide to transition foods, you will want to slowly incorporate the new food over 1 week to avoid digestive upset. I always recommend on days 1 and 2, offer 75% the current food mixed with 25% the new food. For days 3 and 4, offer 50% current food mixed with 50% new food. On days 5 and 6, offer 75% new food and 25% current food. And finally, on day 7, you can offer 100% new food and 0% current food. Does this help?
