The 'shops' sell you on perspectives/ideas on politics, religion, or just on the nature of the world - the people in it and versions of history. The kiosks in the middle of the mall represents like centrism and deliberately no buying into any one side of an issue or topic ie not choosing a side. What the Kiosk sells is fake but looks real, legit. What they sell allows you to be a chameleon and look like you belong to both sides. But its fake. Its just you avoiding committing to anything. Being too afraid of actually dealing with the consequences of caring and having your own opinion. You avoid having the spotlight on you, you get to participate but you blend into the background. Its an alluring cope-out. Its like those people who say both sides are bad (in politics) and leave it at that. They always jump into political convos but never contribute anything meaningful. Its also cope out because when you just leave it at that you can throw you hands up and not do anything and not vote or get invested. The middle of the mall represents a path that leads to willful ignorance, where you ignore important details that could cause you to pick a side, like the hypocrisies Lupe mentioned about the things being preached by religious leaders. When Lupe says 'middle of the mall', he is also saying 'middle of them all'! Lupe makes this clear in I think the second verse where he talks about basketball and its clear he is saying middle of them all not middle of the mall which wouldnt make sense in the bar. Lupe did a similar thing in Deliver on T&Y where he says 'pizza man' and 'peace of man' at the same time. Dual layer and dual meaning.
