    Thanks! I've been curious about this camp. I usually drive up to Weston pass. This is more convenient to 285.

      Very convenient off of 285. It really surprised us that it was not busy. I believe we recorded this about 3 o’clock on Father’s Day.

    Man, they sure have thinned out trees there, beetle kill I am guessing. Haven’t been there in at least 3 years but always seem surprisingly not filled. Cattle graze in area and when it rained they would come into camp area.

      This campground was closed after the fire just north of there two years ago. I wonder if they thinned out the trees as part of fire mitigation.

    Never heard of this camp before. I saw on your map the South Platte River. Which campground would be the most convenient to stay near south plate river?
    We were in the Antonito area this week. Stayed at Aspen Glade. Beautiful remote area with s few campgrounds plus dispersed camping.

      In Eleven Mile Canyon, the Riverside Campground is across the road from the South Platte River. Video: th-cam.com/video/0GEK7p2Z3Fw/w-d-xo.html It's not as bumpy as the other campgrounds in the canyon, making it my pick if towing a trailer.
      We need to get back to the Antonito area. I feel like I'm missing out on something special ever since our failed attempt to visit the campgrounds last year.

      Campground Recon Thanks! I think that I’ve seen it but I will check it out again and save it. I like less bumpy :).
      Defiantly, check out that Conejos river area. Bumpy road to platoro reservoir is worth it.

      It was dirt but not bumpy when we visited.

      Hoe steep was the drive from 285 up to campground? I guess Im asking what is the elevation gain?

    • @CampgroundRecon
      @CampgroundRecon  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Livetraveldiva It wasn't much. If I remember correctly, maybe 200 - 300 feet.

      South Fork area is great. If you get up by Creede be sure to go up to North Clear Creek Falls. I think we might head towards Durango but was waiting to see if the smoke settles down.
