Good information. You sound like you have a lifetime of experience in pond development & maintenance. These vids are good for you and good for possible customers. Well done.

    That drain is working well.

      Is it?😆
All kidding aside, even when the pond is full and the drain is "working", I'm not too sure it's "flushing" out the "dead water" from the bottom as mentioned. I suspect the water inside that pipe will remain as stagnant as the rest of the pond, with the only movement being slight when it slowly fills after a rain, exactly the same as the rest of the pond's water movement. Any sediment that's in the pipe should settle to the bottom of the pipe at the bottom of the pond. In fact, I suspect there's a good chance this type of drain system may inevitably fail as it slowly clogs with sediment, unless of course it has some fancier hidden design mechanism which wasn't mentioned.

Love this. I have a beaver problem. How do you do this on a 20' DEEP EXISTING POND.

I like his down to earth vibe. If I lived in US, I'd pitch to work for him.

Can I use red clay as good clay to seal a pond I’m going to build?

I’ve been trying to build a pond for over 5 years now. It just continuously leaks out. For 5 years in a row I’ve completely drained it, relined the pond with 3-5 tons of bentonite, then filled it back up. Altogether since the beginning I’ve used approximately 30 tons bentonite, & It still hasn’t sealed. I’ve tried all the expensive pond sealers, I’ve tried tilling the bentonite into the soil, & I’ve tried lining it with 3-5 inches of bentonite without tilling. I dunno what else to do. I need someone with experience to help me figure this out?

Spray it with pool plaster. Pools don't leak and neither will your pond
