Loving these guides. Would it be possible for some guides on tires, best tires for the car in summer and winter, maybe even a guide on suspension that lifts the car for those of us who daily even in the winter?
These videos are actually helpin me a lot with what I wanna do to my brz I'm not sure if you guys sell tires, but could you do a video for recommendations if you do. Preferably all season
Does the camber plate also help with getting -0 camber on the wheels if I don't want it to be negative? And control arms are the only option to remove negative camber in the back?
So I have a 2017 brz and I’m still trying to learn and do everything myself. I want to get a set a coil overs that lower my car that can be used to enhance cornering but still provide a good base for putting down power because I plan to do much more to the engine later on. Any recommendations? Also I need a set a tyres that would then fit these coil overs, what would be a good set for something like my build.
Also I love your channel, you have some great videos and I have gotten my headers and fatback exhaust from you guys and they worked and still work great!
Should I stick with lowering springs if I'm just doing daily driving and spirited driving or should I go ahead and purchase quality coilovers? I think the stock suspension system is great already but I do wanna lower the car a little bit because I went from 17 to 18's
The negative camber tucks the rear wheels in so we can fit the wider wheel and tire, without rubbing. If you want your car as low as ours, we'd recommend adjustable toe arms so your rear toe is properly aligned. If you have further questions, please shoot us an email. www.ft86speedfactory.com/contacts/
With coilovers can you adjust the height back to stock height? I'm looking at buying an frs with coilovers but the car is too low for the pot holes on my dirt road, Is that adjustable?
Most coilover systems offered for this platform are physically smaller than OEM suspension. Even at max height, you would still be minimum 15mm lower than OEM ride height. Just the nature of the beast with coilovers.
I hope I'm not the only Iowan besides you haha as I live like two hours from you in the 2nd largest city in the state. Another Toyota/Lexus fan just stopping by.
lowering your car with just stiff springs it's just not a good idea... you will destroy the natural balance of the car, which will become more nervous without gaining any handling quality at the limit. You just reduce the time of reaction needed to correct the car.
FT86SpeedFactory yeah sorry thats the size tire im running. im running springs but looking to upgrade to coilovers but my question is well this size tire rub to much on them
It's all dependent on how high or low you set the coilovers. They're adjustable. You can make coilovers taller than stock so you can guarantee you won't rub. I say get 255/35/17s for a good street look unless you live in a terrible area with terrible roads then I'd say 40s. But as long as you got a decent set of rims you can probably do 35s in most places and get away with it.
I know this is 5 months late... but some info for you. I have been running the Eibach Sportline lowering springs with factory struts, for 100K+ miles on my car with out a single issue. I installed them myself, and had a shop check alignment. The factory wheels were a bit to small so the car scrapped on speed bumps a bit too much. However once I had finally made a choice on what 18" wheels I wanted, the scrapping stopped and the car looks awesome. The ride quality is a bit stiffer then the factory abut nothing that upsets the car at highway speeds. The car is a DD and will never see track days.
I love my automatic 86 . However, it s a little "tail happy" . When I take hard corner, I would like to make it more "planted" and less "tail happy" . What SLIGHT modification can I do to the car . Thank you.
Wanna asking your guys gt86 2016 car, drive until 130-140km speed will automatically turn to left side, or orignal abosober 86 suspension is soft so will become like that is normal , i just wanna make sure my car no problem, coz i just buy a recond car 86,who know can let me know izit normal or some other problem
We went with Prime Suspension which is made by Fortune Auto. www.ft86speedfactory.com/prime-suspension-series-coilover-by-fortune-auto-2013-ft86.html#.WCxjGy0rKrw
Sorry to hear that... but my wife mods her vehicles just as much as I do. She has even installed her own brakes and a bunch of other little things. SO a blanketed statement like that is not even close to being true. Heck my wife is just as big of a gear head as I am, she just told me the other day, she is getting a turbo upgrade on her car :P
Love the video! Could we possibly see a video about different wheel sizes on the GT86/BRZ and how to get the best fitment and performance?
It's possible! I will add it to the list and see if we can get it done. Otherwise, contact us with questions!

That's great to hear.
However we do not sell tires, but everything we do sell you can find on our website. www.ft86speedfactory.com/
Can a shop align the car correctly even without the alignment kit?
What spring rate do you run on the front and back?
HKS Hipermax S is the best
Omg this is so cool! Great job :)
is there a video on this cars build?
Does the camber plate also help with getting -0 camber on the wheels if I don't want it to be negative? And control arms are the only option to remove negative camber in the back?
Yes, the plates can be adjusting to add or remove camber. Control arms are the only item in the rear that will allow adjustment for camber.

I want 18 x 9.5 wheels but not sure what offset will be best to clear my brembo brakes. Any suggestions?
Help! My FRS bottoms out easily , and feels every bump on these SF roads ! Any solutions or suggestions?
What coilovers should I get for titan7 ts5 wheels

Springs are more than capable. Great way to get the drop and save some pennies!
I dont plan on running negative camber in the rear, am I still going to need the adjustable toe arms if I'm only lowering the car?

What happened to Kevin from FT86 Speedfactory/subiespeed?????
He is mostly busy on the Subispeed side of things! He is still around :)

these are 17x9 +40mm but what tires? can I get 255 40 17 with stock ride? or will I rub the struts
The tires we use on our car are 255/40/17 but that's with coilovers. If you plan to stay on stock struts we recommend a 17x9 +35 with 245/40/17 tires.
This video should also help you out th-cam.com/video/k1ToBRfw7jw/w-d-xo.html
Ok thx! I saw that vid too! U recommend 245 because the inside of the tire will rub the top of the strut?
Correct
part list on the beautiful grey 86 ? Suspension/wheels wise

would i be able to run coilovers on a 255 45 17 wheel fitment to get a semi flush look on my car.
255/45 is a bit tall. We would recommend 255/40/17.

If you plan on being with a girl for more than a few years realize she is going to hate your car.
Sorry to hear that... but my wife mods her vehicles just as much as I do. She has even installed her own brakes and a bunch of other little things. MasterMech77 thays pretty uncommon. I wish my girlfriend liked cars at evem half the level i do. Would make builds much easier and much more fun :)
