@JorA I was talking about how Irelia took damage on purpose, baiting Aatrox into thinking he was winning and then just collapse on him with the level 2 advantage. It's not about exploting the level advantage, that's pretty standard. It's about the psychological side. Aatrox was so focused on thinking he was winning that he probably didn't even pay attention to the fact that Irelia would get level 2 on the next minion.
All of the people saying the takeaway is "just get lvl 2 advantage" or "smurfing is bad" are missing the point to this video. This video isn't saying "go smurf in low elo", it's showing low elo players how to take advantage of the same stategies that smurfs employ in their own elo.
Actually, would be good but it would be kinda same video. Just they would put supports in, but still its all about controlling the wave and catching miss plays. But yeah, I would love to watch it from adc's eyes too 😊❤
I'm a support main but those videos help a lot with overall game knowledge. I started playing the game this year and it's my first moba, so a lot of this stuff is new to me and the game doesn't really teach you these things at all. Thanks for the video!
glad you explained the no recall aspect. I thought for sure the answer was to recall and tp with item advantage. I forgot irelia could sustain. If I had been another champ without sustain and no potions, say Aurelion Sol, I would be right to back and hurry to lane before it crashed right?
For sure, I think even i this case its better to base if you are vs a good player, because you lose prio in lane if you stay in lane with half hp and only 1 corrupting pot up.
The sustain came from her corrupting pot and not her kit so the same argument could be made for any corrupting pot champ. Also I disagree that she should have stayed in lane after the second solo kill and I think the player only did that because they were smurfing and disrespecting their opponent. Your initial thought of recalling and tp'ing back was much safer and could snowball the lead just as hard because she would have had the option to perma-freeze the wave rather than allow it to crash into tower. This would have denied Aatrox a lot more CS and EXP in the long run and forced the enemy jungler to come and help break the freeze.
Forgot about the Q healing although it only gives a very small amount of health and the point was to freeze the wave or let it crash, not to push it (which means she'd sustain very little from Q, as you saw).
Things I learned as a gold. 1. Making use of level advantage. 2. Fast pushing when kill is secured to deny exp and gold. 3. When kill is secured, don't go back yet when a cannon minion is present. Let the enemy minions push towards your turret, denying your opponent exp and gold because the larger wave of the enemy pushes your wave. 4. You can do all of these if your champion is good at csing while under turret like irelia. Unlike akali who is terrible at it, though she can pretty much do the same thing just not under her turret.
This only is useful if you're trying to practice something you're consistently messing up and need to tighten up your plays for your elo. But presumably once you go back to your elo your opponent (s) will probably know this stuff and will hard deny whenever possible and plays you could make on your smurf are now harder or just flat out not possible anymore. That's why is better just to learn from your mistakes in your elo. Don't worry about climbing just focus on improving and the elo will rise naturally as you get better. If your constantly smurfing than your only practicing to be on that elo. It's essentially like a silver practicing in AI games. Mechanics might improve but not enough of the game play will improve to matter. Acceptance of mistakes and learning in your elo are the most consistent way to climb. And on the flip side when you smurf you're making harder for people to learn on the other end. If I was that Aatrox this would have ticked me off because it would be obvious that Irelea is a smurf and it would be difficult to pinpoint my mistakes because I'd be constantly distracted by just not dying. All my macro and map awareness would just tank from tilt and I'd have learned nothing to improve or I'd make wrong assumptions and change my play that might not be correct therefore taking it even longer to improve. Unless I study my replay to pinpoint what I did wrong. Personally I'd try to watch and learn what happened and wouldn't tilt but so many do and that's not helpful. Learn in your own elos plz.

The thing with smurfing is that you need macro to do it. Most plat players have good mechanics but as you can tell he died lv 1 due to poor macro. I smurf a lot in lower elos as well but ive noticed that solo lane mains usually acknowledge the minion xp and powerspikes in high gold. Aatrox shouldnt have walked up knowing she will get lv 2. Im thinking this is either low plat or hes not a top lane main. In diamond players start to acknowledge the ward kill xp as well which means that if your laner killed a ward they get enough xp to get lv 2 from first wave which often gets most low elo players by surprise. Starting oracle is a good strat on some midlaners, obviously its dependant on whether the enemies invade and leave a ward though because pixel brush isnt a viable ward anymore. your macro only develops by playing. At this part of the season you should only play to improve, not for lp :D
I have a question about levels In bot lane, what minions give levels 2 and 3? Considering both the adc and the support are in lane and gaining experience
I'm really considering starting with skillcapped's site, but the one thing that's stopping me is not knowing if there are any support guides. I'm a support main, and while these guides provide me with lots of information on what I should be thinking about for laning, and understanding what other lanes will do, I sometimes feel lost as a support. Are there any guides for supports, or are they just tacked on with marksman guides?
Skilled capped : level advantage is underrated Me : gank a lvl 1 Darius after my first camp "Darius lvl 1 double kill" No this isn't how you're suposed to play the game.
On 4:14 you forgot to mention that with this Q, irelia baits out aatrox Q and passive. Also, if irelia did not have the very op 5 stack and was a different champion and took an extended fight after that ranged, aatrox's wave that was coming would crush that champion. Also, is this NA plat? In EU plat players sometimes even gold players respect level 2.
Nikos Pyridis Not really ,any toplaner with extended trades would win it .He just listed a bunch of champs as example who would also kill Aatrox on lvl 2.I think even silver players respect lvl 2 but I think he was just too much into this irelia fight and forgot about minions ,which is always a big low elo mistake .
What I learn from smurfs is how important it is to know more about both your champ as well as the opponent's champ than your opponent. The skill cap of both of these champs is quite high, but Irelia knew more about her kit and knew what she needed to do while Aatrox didn't stop her. ie Use your entirety of your champion and take advantage when your opponent can't or doesn't.
Very true... and this is how I gain ranks against cheeky low elo top laners. But tbh, my plan in hand is to make them think that they have an advantage over me (even though they don't), causing them to either overstay/overpush even at below half hp or out of pots, and make them play cheeky taunting plays, causing them to misplay and getting heavily punished for it. League is not just the play, its also the mental Its a bonus if the jungler actually realizes that I'm setting up a gank... in which 80% of the time, they dont
To be honest: At 7:13 that Aatrox is completely correct to fight Irelia. There was no reason for Irelia to put that pink ward down, because the enemy lane is pushing. Secondly, she has zero passive stacks and should be at her weakest. And lastly, Aatrox still has his ignite up and should give him the upper hand. Oh, and Aatrox had a big minion wave to support him. The only reason that Irelia wins is that she was pretty broken at that point in time and is a hard counter to Aatrox. So in my opinion Hector did a really bad play there and it just played out, because of his champion/matchup but is counteractive to the videos goal. Noone should take trades that he should lose or has a small chance of succeeding, that's the opposite of how you can climb elo consistently. The video basically comes down to: Pick hard counter to Aatrox that is also broken/unbalanced and just fuck him up. But he played his Level 1/2 smart, ill give you that.

@skill capped challenger lol guides I love your videos guys they are really helpful and well made. I would like to see different champions though (as an otp teemo) because most of the time we are seeing Akali, Irelia and every other top competitive champ. But we never see the less competitive champ, that can still surely be played in soloqueue up to even grandmaster. No Yorick ever, no Mundo, no heimerdinger, no shen, and no many more champions.
Look up hangsim and spam watch his videos while asking yourself the question why is he doing what he is doing on teemo using the knowledge you gain from watching these videos. I agree that it would be nice to see some variety but I use these concepts as a teemo otp myself and from watching hangsims gameplay.
Something that isn't spoken about but that I think is a mistake that Aatrox made is that he didn't retreat directly to his tower. If you're going to run to your tower with flash, at least try and go deep to increase the number of tower hits your opponent takes.
Great video! I actually learned a lot with you guys. I had a premium subscription half a year ago and I learned many things from you guys which helped me climb! I'm platinum currently if you wonder
There's a lot of good content in this video but it's also somewhat clear even without good macro play that the aatrox would struggle. Irelia as a champion naturally does extremely well into aatrox because of her kit being everything that aatrox struggles to deal with. In honesty most of the other champion examples given are champions that naturally put aatrox in a bad position because of how well their kit matches up against his. Once again i'm in no way discounting the information in the video because it's all extremely informative and important, however there could have been another champion that doesn't naturally stomp this lane in particular that would have gotten the information across much better due to them not necessarily being a natural counter.
Reminder that smurfing is toxic and ruins the experience of other players, don't smurf, it's frankly disgusting that this is accepted as a ethically normal thing to do
Title: "you will hard carry like a smurf when you learn these low elo mistakes" Actual video: "how to lane against irelia in top lane" Very interesting :P
This is why my goto pick against Nasus at my Elo (~mid gold) is Irelia. They can't stop me stacking my passive, and they never ever respect my level 2, they hard grief for them +3s and then just get run down. Ez first blood every single time.
4:27 he made a mistake, he could have just auto attacked him to death not using q, then if aatrox flashed she could use q and kill him without using her flash. Later if something happend and she REALLY needed that flash she wouldn't have it, just because someone is higher rank doesen't mean they are better then you
Smurfing should not be encouraged. Although the concepts adressed in this video are very well covered, a good guide should always be centered around the player who needs improvement. "Learn how to avoid feeding against a challenger douche" would have been a much better title. I repeat, the video is fine. But seriously, does this Hector guy even have fun smashing low skilled players? You can do better imo. Love your vids. Have a good day.
@@ambeegaming76 yeah and play vs 3 diamonds or higher in the enemy team vs your own silver/unranked mates.. Aram isnt fun anymore tbh. All destined pre-game.
oh damn that lvl2 part I didn't even think about xD as an adc I only hit 2 at 3rd minion 2nd wave but this is sololane so irelia soaks a lot more exp per minions than I do sharing with my support :P
Aatrox's biggest mistake was that he didn't know he faced a challenger.. when you know you're facing a way more skilled opponent than yourself you will play more carefully and defensively. Irelia knew he was facing platinum players and what to expect so the whole thing is kinda horseshit.
Irelia is so not ok. I mean look at the scene 7:10. She fights him in 10 minions, takes the ignite, is the same level as aatrox and literally deals 100 absolute damage per auto attack because of her shitty passive that makes her deal x1.4 instead of x1.0 damage like normal champions. It would be interesting to see this with champions like Quinn, Kennen, Teemo, Jayce, Gnar. Ranged champions are supposed to be able to poke the enemy but instead someone like Irelia can literally one shot them level 1. IT‘S NOT AN OK CHAMP
To be honest, since i started to learn from smurfs, my overall winrate went up dramaticly. There is something that allways stuck in my mind about alot of guides and stuff. Sure you can learn alot by watching challenger games and stuff and learn how its done in theory on a high lvl but the truth is, most of these things wont work in lower elo. You cant apply challenger lvl plays onto 4 random people in gold who dont even understand what you want to do with it for example. lower elo is like a complete different game almost. Watching high elo players smurf in your rating however is a way more helpful information since its something you can actually do yourself in your own games. I m not in challenger, i dont carehow challenger people play in challenger, i wanna know how challenger player play in MY elo to learn from it.
Bad aatrox play with the first blood. He should have tried to second q+e to hit irelia with the edge of his second q, and keeping his 3rd q to protect himself against a possible comeback by irelia. That way, irelia would have been too low on health and aatrox would have the opportunity to third q irelia and possibly kill her if she tried anything. Edit: if he was lvl 2
no i hear you only get demoted if your mmr drops an entire elo. you can also see a warning symbol next to your ranked symbol if your demotion shield is about to expire.
I actively try to do this as a gold player, even before watching this it was obvious to me that leveling from 1 to 2 before your opponent will allow you to snowball a lane if taken advantage of properly.

I agree that it would be nice to see some variety but I use these concepts as a teemo otp myself and from watching hangsims gameplay.
first league help video i found that actually gave some good knowledge instead just blanket tips that even an iron player could give you.
Something that isn't spoken about but that I think is a mistake that Aatrox made is that he didn't retreat directly to his tower. If you're going to run to your tower with flash, at least try and go deep to increase the number of tower hits your opponent takes.
How to get out of low elo:
Spam full ap malphite support
I literally went up 2 divisions in one day yesterday just playing that.
you can pickup gold5 izy like this, with malph full ap sup,but after gold dont work as well, sucks bc malph full ap sup is so fun haha
how to beat bad players at the game while being the top player guide - BRILLIANT
would love more videos based on bot lane specifically ADC
and you try this but their is the enemy jungle who gank you lvl 1 , 2 , 3 and you cant snowball because you are pressured
I would love to play againsy this guy, not because i think i can win, but because i think i can learn a lot from players like this
Great video! I actually learned a lot with you guys. I had a premium subscription half a year ago and I learned many things from you guys which helped me climb! I'm platinum currently if you wonder
4:24 Beautiful hitbox on that E. The sword get stunned.
You know what's funny? Not only her E has a hitbox, aatrox has one too
@@kolo1364 Play the video really slowly and you'll see, that E was a complete BS except if Aatrox' sword is part of his hitbox.
@@Lolsesbibi his feet was in Irelia's E
That actually makes sense lorewise since aatrox is the sword itself
There's a lot of good content in this video but it's also somewhat clear even without good macro play that the aatrox would struggle. Irelia as a champion naturally does extremely well into aatrox because of her kit being everything that aatrox struggles to deal with. In honesty most of the other champion examples given are champions that naturally put aatrox in a bad position because of how well their kit matches up against his.
Once again i'm in no way discounting the information in the video because it's all extremely informative and important, however there could have been another champion that doesn't naturally stomp this lane in particular that would have gotten the information across much better due to them not necessarily being a natural counter.
i don't get why aatrox lose the second time he had more minions irelia miss her q and passive needs 5 corruption potion is that strong?
Reminder that smurfing is toxic and ruins the experience of other players, don't smurf, it's frankly disgusting that this is accepted as a ethically normal thing to do
Title: "you will hard carry like a smurf when you learn these low elo mistakes"
Actual video: "how to lane against irelia in top lane"
Very interesting :P
2:12
beyblade beyblade let it rip
This is why my goto pick against Nasus at my Elo (~mid gold) is Irelia. They can't stop me stacking my passive, and they never ever respect my level 2, they hard grief for them +3s and then just get run down. Ez first blood every single time.
very detailed and educative ty
This Hector must be earning too much money with his smurfing hobby
Some people get the challenger, after that it takes real long to queue up again so they just make another account and get that one to challenger too.
Ur actually cringe
Why not just play in your own elo?
he just explained it in the beginning of the video
@@rhadaze2509 Explained that some people need ego stroking cuz they have small peens?
Ambee Gaming exactly. It’s fun
@@pob-4810 I go to arams to have fun lol
@@ambeegaming76 yeah and play vs 3 diamonds or higher in the enemy team vs your own silver/unranked mates.. Aram isnt fun anymore tbh. All destined pre-game.
Can you make a video on how to play the game as adc when your other lanes are losing and you want to avoid those 4 man towerdives?
oh damn that lvl2 part I didn't even think about xD as an adc I only hit 2 at 3rd minion 2nd wave but this is sololane so irelia soaks a lot more exp per minions than I do sharing with my support :P
Video on how to close out games! Esp when i split push and my team dies under our turret
Why there is no support guide :(
How about you give us some SUPPORT CARRY TIPS for the support mains.
More mid guides plz !
Aatrox's biggest mistake was that he didn't know he faced a challenger.. when you know you're facing a way more skilled opponent than yourself you will play more carefully and defensively. Irelia knew he was facing platinum players and what to expect so the whole thing is kinda horseshit.
Yeah, but no one facing a smurf will know that he's doing so
2019: Irelia is broken
2020: irelia is still broken
Best videos about LoL
This is what i need. ty :)
Thx for you videos...they r the best!
great video
Riot needs to ip ban smurfs. They completely ruin ranked.
they try since years to fix the smurf problem but they just can't due to soooo many reason.
10:20 if you are playing Pantheon, Q her ass xD
Put what you said int he first 2 mins, at the end pls.
is that the Hector who coached Jerry Banfield via Skype a couple of years ago?
can you do a jungle version please
8:17 ah yes bloodline
OMG WAAAAAAAy to much stuff for me to think about in lane! Guess that's why I'm...well, the rank that I am.
I just got promoted to Plat, and I lost my first game in Plat. May I get demoted in gold if I lose again?
no i hear you only get demoted if your mmr drops an entire elo. you can also see a warning symbol next to your ranked symbol if your demotion shield is about to expire.
Only if you lost 10 games in a row.
I don't think you realize how hard it is for Aatrox to stop Irelia's Q :/
I would have already been ganked twice by the jungler in less than five minutes.
more bottom ADC content would be very appreciated
i somehow pity hector for having to endure toxicity of the lower brackets
im literally doing the exact same stuff as this "challenger" in my gold elo
8:13 editing mistake lol missing file
lol
masterclass indeed :) thanks :)
“How is completely able to dismantle an Aatrox as Irelia on level 2”
I don't see the weird thing here
Great video but this matchup is heavily biased towards Irelia and that Irelia would win lane regardless if the Irelia is challenger or not.
8:35 he should get tier 2 aatrox
I actively try to do this as a gold player, even before watching this it was obvious to me that leveling from 1 to 2 before your opponent will allow you to snowball a lane if taken advantage of properly.
Rule one- play irelia, she's broken early game. XDDDDD
Smurfing ruins the whole rank system, its hard to even get into gold because of smurfs in silver. Rank system is to filter skills of every player.
how tf does he even think about all this in like 0.5 sec its crazy
everything in this video is absolute basic for Toplane in Plat1+ i'd say
When you play the game for 5+ years and do this kind of stuff it becomes habit, you don't really need to actively think about it.
Irelia is beast! My new main is clearly her
"Lol just dont let Irelia use abilities and kill more minions." saved everyone 11 minutes
if thats all you took away from it then have fun staying in pisslow elo
@@Paath Lol why would I play ranked? Same gamemode but less fun? More assholes who think their time gaining rank is worth something? Most of these guides can be summed up with "just kill more minions thann your opponent, also kill them, also take their towers and nexus." Useless.
my iq just went sicko mode
One of their mistake
