I recently came across your channel as I am a renovation fan! I am about 7 videos in and I am hooked. I love your candor, honesty, ambition and the unbelievable amount of hard work you all put in to bringing your vision to life! The love of animals and willingness to foster and adopt makes you even more loveable. I am loving the channel! Sam, Becky, Isabella and Euan, I wish you all good fortune, peace and health!
You impress me with your kindness toward animals. Thats the sort of things that make me a regular watcher along with watching the Irish Homstead progress!!!! I think that you are still in the thick of it, but getting alot closer to easier progress. Steady and surely!!!!! ps that horrible suspicion about black cats it ridiculous, they are absolutely amazing cats. Very smart and loving. If I were looking for a cat or two, I would choose black color first.
My ginger tom was called Alister. I had him for 13 wonderful years and he brought me so much joy. Your little one really does look like him. So glad he's a keeper Bec. xxx
I just love the 2 little kittens that you can't keep. Every building is coming along well and you have been working so hard to make your dreams come true 😊❤❤ Keep on keepin on
Sam and Rebecca this channel is one of my favourites love what you are doing to the rebuild can't wait to see the next update keep them coming cousin hopefully i will definitely come over one day I've never been to Ireland
Just about! I did think to myself at 5am the other day when I was cleaning their litter trays, "why do I do this to myself?"...then I remember, it's because someone has to! 🤣👍
Good to see you have help with the drains. Well designed and installed drains work well for many decades, centuries, allowing home to run, protecting the structure. The great thing about the setting is being on a hill, so the water can be easliy removed.
It is God awful being an orphan. Can't abide cats but hoping all abandoned souls find someone to love them. ❤🎉🙏💞. I can really SEE the house coming together now. So chuffed for you all. I hope the drain away functions perfectly. Big hugs all around. ❤🎉❤🎉
Those little black kittens are adorable! I hope and pray a kind hearted soul will adopt both of them so they can always stay together. Bless your hearts for giving them such a good temporary home! 🐈🐈⬛🧡
@@theirishhomesteadI did hear you say you're not keeping the black kitties, but could you consider them as barn cats? I know you just have the donkey but he's kinda in a barn. The kitties would keep a lot of mice and anything else that may not be needed away.
I was watching you cutting concrete with the diamond disc. Consider taking a 500ml cold drink bottle, drill a four mm hole in the cap. Have a glamorous assistant squeeze water on the cutting arc as you cut. The water will keep the amount of dust down, which assists you seeing where you cut. The other benefit is to keep the diamond cutters cool which extends the life of the blade.
Otis is the perfect name for your lovely boy, my Great Dane in my pic on my profile is a Otis, named him after Otis Redding who came on the radio in my car as we set off from the rescue he got brought to after his rescue from neglect in Romania, so happy you guys are helping all these animals, its hard work but so worth it💛
Ahh that's so lovely! I've always wanted a great dane such beautiful dogs. H Glad you helped him too. It's really satisfying making a difference lile that.
Ah so happy you are keeping “Otis” great name, not sure I spelled that right. The black ones are so cute. I’ve had many black cats in my life. I love them all. Great job Sam.
Becky you are fantastic to Foster two sick kittens it is a big undertaking to keep on top with eye drops and minding they don't pass it on.Well done.Sam seems to cope so well with all the drainage and the mini digger driving. The window sills look really well, heavy lifting. Euan not impressed with the truck noise.Take care and God Bless you all xxxx
Cats make great outdoor mousers and pets. HEere in Houston, TX there are spay and neuter programs for feral cats. They help keep the rodents away. Best of luck! Lovelovelove watching your continuing adventures ❣️
You two are knocking it out of the park once again! Each episode we watch brings so much progress, and proof that if you want something, and are prepared to work for it, it is possible. The kittens are all gorgeous, and I hope that the little black ones are soon well enough to be loved by their forever family/families. Have a great week ahead. See you next week xx
Awwww Rebecca you are truly so kind glad one kitten gets to stay di hope the other two get a loving home they look s😅 cute sam grand work has always hooe you can catch a brek luv to you all the oldies 🤗🤗🤗🤗👍👍👍👍
The day will come, when all you have built will smile back at you for all your hard work. and your back will curse you for every time you lifted something big and heavy without using your legs for the lift!
Oh my word the window sills make such a difference. The house is taking shape and the groundworks are coming on. Love the kittens but we’re not near you and we have just taken on two kittens. 😂
Good evening Bec’s and lovely family 😍 That windowsill Sam has made a massive difference and going to give you a fantastic view 😊 I love have people sent you stuff as you all deserve everything just for the entertainment value if nothing else 🤩 Lovely Toby at the end xx
Our daughter adopted a cat a year ago now. The people in the adoption area of the pet store named her creamsicle ( after a lollipop here in Ontario) but we shortened it to Cream. She is just like the kitten you're adopting and she couldn't be loved more. Love watching your progress too. Very exciting to watch and very happy for a lovely family.❤
Well done 🙂on trenching out the pool of water. Those kittens are adorable. Tiger is a good name for a stripped ginger I think. Best wishes on getting the kittens rehomed.
The water shows you where the land drain should go. Such an important part of your house. The window sills suit the building and look good. Press on! Regards, Stephen.
Hey folks, great progress. Watching you dig the drain to empty the swimming pool inside the house reminded me of the old aphorism “a rising tide lifts all boats" which I heard for the first time the other day on an old NeighbourFood ie podcast, which I think applies perfectly to us all. Keep up the good work!
The two gables with their concrete sills (and lintel) look really secure. I said in my last comment 'well done' on the drainage plans and it is so good to see that being actioned. Becs didnt fancy an indoor swimming pool? 😂😂 I cant believe how fast you are cracking on with the build. It's going to be beautiful 😍 Love the name Otis, he is such a cutie. I fostered a couple of kittens 3 years ago for three weeks. My cat Boris turned into a jealous monster and couldnt look at them without hissing at them. So that was the end of fostering for me. It was fun and i was sad to see them go, even if Boris wasn't 😂🙈
Euan did have a great time playing in the rainwater pool that we never ordered, but it has to go! 🤣 They were a bit sissy at first but once they realised he wasn't going anywhere they are best pals now. Luckily.
Just binge watching from the beginning ...absolutely loving every minute of your journey and more so after hearing about your recovery! One day at a time 🙏 love in fellowship ❤

Anyway, great work on the digging and windows, Sam, along with a bit of beard trim (lol). Good luck with tons of stones to strew around!
Lol I knew the kitty would be a foster fail, and as to the 2 black kitties I hope they find a new home. I would have them in a second, but my Freya is not in favour of other cats, she is a black cat and she's a wee darling and a spoiled like crazy, love and blessings from Scotland xx
Lifting that slab of concrete, you didn’t bend your knees very much picking it up , A FEW OF THOSE TREES ROUND YOU LOOK VERY HEALTHY ARE THEY ON YOUR LAND?, Well done with your drainage that’s a very good job done.😊
Good work Sam and family more progress with lots more work to be done. It's great to see you're still smiling and getting stuck in good luck in the future.
Great video, really making progress. "Now were sucking diesel" lol old Irish saying. I do believe that will continue to grow😂. Have a lovely weekend again thanks for sharing your journey. I would love to be in a position financially to buy an old farm and get out of Dublin one day, when the lotto numbers come out😂
Sorry you're having a challenge you didn't really need to add to your day. Boggy land must be an absolute nightmare. Our problem here is flash flooding. We get no rain for weeks and then suddenly the heavens just open up and the land can't hold that amount of water. Since we're in the mountains, it all runs downhill and we just watch it overflow the banks of streams and try to get out of the way. The window sill looks great! My back hurts just watching you lift it! Carry on! You're doing a brilliant job! Take lots of tea breaks! Lol!
We took 2 bonded kitties - one black - Huckleberry, one orange - Finn. Finn passed very unexpectedly in a rare growth in his neck. We have just adopted another one. He's gray and black stripped. He's Tom Sawyer. Hopefully, Tommy will be a good friend to Huck. It's slow going, though.
He will come round. Onyx is not a fan of the kittens but Jasper & Felix get along quite well with them now. It just takes time. So sorry to hear about the loss of Finn. I know first hand how hard that must have been. 💔

Love watching how it's progressing. Just amazed at the vision!
ASLAN. The lion front the, Chronicles of Narnia. I had an orange cat named Aslan who showed up on our farm and adopted us years ago. Miss him very much.
The window sill looks good Sam but man, I was feel'n the pain as you lifted it. Phew! Bec, I wish I lived near you, I'd adopt the lil kittens in a heatbeat, but I live in the land downunder, bit far to travel 😂❤

Euen should have ear mufflers. That lovely little lad was distressed with the noise ❤️

ASLAN. The lion front the, Chronicles of Narnia. I had an orange cat named Aslan who showed up on our farm and adopted us years ago. Miss him very much.
Aslan is a great idea!
