Imagine how this had to come together?
some guy smuggles in a cassette recorder with a little microphone and records the whole concert while another guy (Speedy)sits up in the rafters and films it with no sound and almost 50 years later here it is on TH-cam
Thats wild
I was 17 and I was at that show. The one and only time I saw Led Zeppelin live. What a night !
I believe you
The good old days…
@@likearollingstone007 Ayant manqué ce show (j'étais trop jeune), j'ai voulu me reprendre en 1980. Quelle tristesse... 😞

I hope this inspires a certain someone to release the other lengthy 8mm film from this show. Thanks for carrying on Speedy's legacy and letting me sync this marvel!
You always do an incredible job….and I know it’s not easy to sync. Thank you! 👍
Seattle 75?
Yep Zep Much Thanx LZF-AWESOME !
Totally grateful for the work you did
You Are The Best!
I am awaiting, and know that you have already successfully achieved a milestone here.
Respect!

51 minutes of audience film is just WILD.
So ready for this ‼️
I can say He with 💯...
Paid less than 5 dollars to see this.
I truly respect and like many things that many guitar virtuosos play but what Page did was on another level even beyond that !
Yes, for a 1975 show it's virtually unheard of. The taper arrived loaded for bear!
It is because LZ manager Peter Grant was notorious for sending goons out into the audience to catch bootleggers. Cameras that could film weren't small back then either.
Just incredible, and notice in the concert the quiet achiever John Paul Jones who was Led Zeps secret weapon is just lurking in the shadows. No spotlight, just creating magic in the dark.
I remember showing a friend, a new Zep fan, the video of Earl's Court and before Over The Hills started I told him Jimmy's going to throw down some of the greatest guitar leads ever conceived, ignore that a pay attention to the Bozo & Jones skull crushing rhythm section back-beat extraordinaire. He was rightfully sore amazed.
Well, that's the typical role for bass players... Anyways, JPJ stands as one of the greatest when it comes to rock and roll bass. Charles Mingus of rock, I'd say!
I just want to cry right now. I live in Montreal, and this was happening in the same city that I live in, and I freak'n missed it. Of coarse I was 12 years old at the time, but holly crap. Unfortunately when I was 16, and waiting for Led Zeppelin to return to the Montreal Forum, John Bonham had passed away. I remember that day like it was yesterday. A small 1" x 1" picture was in the newspaper. I was devastated, and this is why this is so dear to me. Thank you Speedy.
I was at this show and i can tell you the sound was crap but the atmosphere was amazing!! The sound on this video is better than it was at the Forum.
31 yo singer from Mtl and Robert Plant is one hell of a big inspiration for me, so I feel you
Same here I was devastated
We were going to camp out overnight at the box office to get tickets in 1980 when the news broke of Bonham's death. I couldn't believe it. I wss 16 yrs. old.
I was so apprehensive on how I was going to get my tickets. I waited for hours for rush tickets dam near froze my toes off. Lol
Hi Led Zeppelin Fan's.
Best Band ever!!!!
The Beatles.
@@Twofloorbluebird yes but Zeppelin is for me nummer 1
and that ever will be
@@mariuszoso Definitely Zep#1
This is amazing, I saw them two nights in 75 at Earls Court. Those shows had a life changing effect on me. Superb audience shot film for the time, and the sync is great 😁
Earl's Court shows were three years before I was born. But how I wish I could be there! You are a realy lucky man!
Long Live Led Zeppelin!
The best 51 minutes of my life
Man, I got a contact high just watching this! I love Zeppelin!!!
This was the last time Zeppelin ever played in Montreal. I wish to death I could say I was there, but alas, I was too young to go. I had my tickets booked by a friends mother who worked at TRS Outlets for the next show in Montreal scheduled on October 27 1980, but we all know what happened on September 25 of that year to sadly put the kybosh on the North American leg of the 1980 tour and consequently the rest of their careers.
Thank you sooooo much for posting this footage. I have known about this date ever since I started listening to them in 1977 and have been curious on everything about it, like what they were wearing, song order and so forth. I have many Zeppelin bootlegs on vinyl, but this video put a lot into perspective for me as a fan and a musician.
Just knowing I was somewhere in the city while this was being performed has to be good enough for me now.
If we only had a time machine, right?
That's awesome and sad at the same time. The loss of Bonzo was so terrible and heartbreaking. It was Oct 17th, 1980 that you would have seen Led Zeppelin, if Bonzo had lived.
@@turnsufficient4971 Yes Sorry.. typo. I knew it was the 17th. Thanks for stating that.
I attended this show. Took the bus from Toronto, Page is playing with a broken finger. An accident on a train before leaving England. Like you would even know 🔥
Thank You Jim Kelly Speedy and everyone who contributed to this very cool exiting film in Montréal! Love and Joy to All 💖🥰💓
Yes its make me happy 😃 from Montréal
The best rock'n roll band in the World ever.
That's pretty damn good sound for a smuggled-in 1975 8mm camera.
This is raw and real 🔥🔥. I’m a drummer and seeing Bonzo through a whole song with no camera movement is great
Bonzo sounds and looks really good on this, and Jimmy on "In My Time of Dying" and "Dazed and Confused" also. It's a real gem. Thanks!
I love all the lighters... Great pre cell phone memories!!!
Brilliant work to resurrect a film 49 years old. 'Trampled Underfoot' is near perfect, amazing effort! ❤
This is terrific!! Brings me back. And for context....Page broke the tip of his ring finger of his FRETTING hand in a train door a few days before. Amazing he could even play at all! Wonderful video!😀😀😸
Oh how I miss the buzz and excitement of big-ass concerts! ...even in the nose-bleed section😁
This was state of the art for hand held video in the day.
This is just incredible to the core and ends of the earth - they were simply incredible live. The energy, musicianship and power is there.
Idk why, but when I saw Bonzo all lit up wailing and pounding the tar out of the drums during Moby Dick - I not only got goosebumps all over - I just started to weep. Bonham was so incredible and the crowd was going bonkers during his drum solo - at multiple points - they knew how good he was and were honored to watch him hammer the piss out of the drums.
What a mind-blowing video and audio - bootleg you've put together here.
Thanks so much for your efforts and time -- to all involved in this endeavor.
I was at that concert at the Forum. 6th row in the reds right above the penalty box. Was an awesome concert.
Same here great night
Do you still have your ticket?
@@johnfatorich3494 No unfortunately, I got rid of all of them later. I should have kept them I know.
I'm in!
Legendary show and recording. Thanks for video
Your welcone...😁
This was so enjoyable, thanks for getting it out ! I love the pre-show build up of excitement, such great footage. One thing that stands out is how Bonzo isn't bashing the drums, he plays with great control and economy of movement. He obviously hits hard but he's not slaying the drums. It's a controlled burn, he knew to keep some reserve power for a 3 hour show . People who call him a basher are idiots.
It's again realy fine Footage and fantastic Audio Synchronisation..... Thank You for Your Effort and thank You at all, to share this with us....
Best Greetings from Germany again 😉 sends Henry
A big thumb 👍 for this....
Le(d)t the Zeppelin fly.....!!!
It's amazing how small and simple the stage is by today's standards. Now we get spectacles in liue of great music.
Led Zep was the spectacle
Bonzo with the bowler hat!!! Legendary Bonzo! And to see such great footage of him playing Moby Dick! And 51 minutes of total filmed footage...Thank you Speedy! :)
The acoustic of the Mtl Forum was very bad and it's a miracle to have that kind of sound in this video. Thanks for that !
A miracle to have this bad sound in a video? No, could have easily been fixed before posting this...
@@briankehew579 I agree. Have a nice day !
Bring it on!! Thank you for this. 👍
Speedy (R.IP) Etienne and Led Zep films.... absolute stellar job. Many, many thanks 🙏👍👏
I've always loved this version of the OTHAFA solo - I've always suspected Page broke a string right at the start of it, because instead of beginning the solo, he plays some outro chords and JPJ begins a ~20 second bass solo before Page comes back in and starts the solo. Cool to see the footage confirming this, as Page starts to walks off to swap guitars around 10:15.
Very Exciting!
I remember when this show came to the Forum but I was only 12 and couldn’t go. Thanks for posting this. It’s just incredible what you can find these days. 👍
I was 15 and was there
Cant wait!
Absolutely Incredible! The audience recording combined with this genuine seating position really gives the impression that you're there. One of the most real videos of Led Zeppelin out there. The bootleg vinyl for this gig was called Ledgerdomain, and I used to think it was average in sound quality, but synched with this video it couldn't be better.
26 days before my first Zeppelin show in Dallas on March 4th.
Have this show on vinyl. Cant wait to see it
Wowza! Was at this show, as well as their show spring 1970, same venue. Great post.
I've been a fan of live Led Zeppelin since the mid eighties and this is one of my favorites I am in awe that I could see such a good film from the show I am grateful for the always expanding library of live Zeppelin and the folks who made it accessible to us public
awesome
Incroyable! Thank you for posting this!
J'y étais et No Quarter était bouleversant...la dernière fois que j'ai vu ce groupe mythique.
Mon premier concert a vie.
That LEGENDARY
fantastic thanks for all the hard work to make this available Priceless God Bless Speedy!
hell yeah 🔥
This is so amazing! Thank you for capturing this musical historical show! I was only 7 years old then! I lived in Montreal fr 31 years! I wish I could have seen them live! Long live Led Zepelin!
Awesome! For me, one of the highlights are the Moby Dick shots of a Droog-style Bonzo blastin' away. Bet the whole building would vibrate when he'd do those tymp bends. Thanks for the amazing work!
Fantastic !!! Thanks to everyone involved to putting this together for us who never got to see them live.
fantastic video...thanks so much man!!
If they had a Time Machine Led Zeppelin live will be a place I would love to travel back too 🤟🏼
Amazing!! Thank you so much!
Thank you very much, Speedy! 😊
Thank you so much for making this available, Speedy! 😎👍

So good. Much appreciated. Page seems on here. Percy is struggling a bit. So many shows in a row takes it's toll. Thanks!
Yes, the tour started in the Winter, and his voice was shot all thru February & March. The 2/14 NYC Nassau Coliseum was dubbed 'The Valentines Day Massacre'
Absolutely incredible! The version of Moby Dick was just epic! Thanks for posting. ✌❤🥁
We knew someone who worked in the Forum ticket office. We had third row seats in front of the speakers. My ears rang for a week..
Excellent thank you !
Great job putting this together!!!!!
Incredible footage!! I love watching Bonzo especially!! But they are all awesome!
Thanks Great footage!
Thankyou Speedy ! Totally 4 sure ! Rock in heaven ! Tom
It was a great pleasure to see this rare video of Zep, even though it was live when Robert's throat was at its worst.
This is just amazing. So much power. They were great on this tour.
There isn't a band alive today that can captivate and audience like that. When Zeppelin came to town, it was an event, not a concert.
The only thing I can think of was Van Halen in the early days. They had that charisma. But you're right. I got chills when the intro kicked.
@2high2die I saw VH open for Black Sabbath, and they just killed it. I saw them less than a year later, and they were headlining. Their first few tours were special indeed!
@@da324, we are lucky. I saw the Ramones, Van Halen and Sabbath at the Omni in Atlanta in 78. Then VH headline the Fox Theatre in 79 on the VHII tour. Just amazing.
@2high2die Yea, I saw their tours up through Fair Warning, and the VHII was my favorite (still have that shirt). I really like Sammy Hagar in Montrose and his solo stuff, but overall, I never cared much for his stint with VH. We were fortunate for sure!
No more imagining. I can die happy now!
The clips of Bonzo are particularly remarkable.
Awesome thanks for sharing
Always,forever
That was awesome!
People like you and zepfilm are doing God’s work…thank you for allowing people who never got to experience zeppelin see the titans that walked the Earth
Thx for recording this Speedy, RIP.
Just superb. 75 Zep was darker and more menacing than they had been before and this captures that so well
I was there!
Thank you for this, you are doing the Lord's work! Hammer Of The GAWDS strikes in Montreal!!
One thing I always notice when watching the real John Bonham is how strong he was and how hard he was hitting. When you hear Jason imitate his father you can hear the difference. I wish Jason would add some effects to give his drums more thunder. Of course, John had a lot of flange and phaser he liked to put on the drums but he still was pounding the hell out of them. No amount of effect is going to reproduce the natural harmonics coming out of the drums when you hit them that hard.
Something else to consider is that modern drum Kits just don't have the huge sound back in 70s . Modern kits sound alot more Compressed and don't have the depth.
Jason needs to dig out some of his Father's old Kits if they still exist.
Wow....thought I had seen everything out there, haven't seen this THANKS
This is amazing. Thanks for sharing.

A local Orillia legend
miss you buddy RIP
Thanks for this G!
Epic just to see the stage & crowd at 2:18. Man ... those stacks of amps!
It's unfortunate that for much of Zeppelin's heyday, Plant's voice was shot. And I say that as a huge Zeppelin fan.
This is phenomenal, thank you sir. Interesting that it's so dark on the stage.
Wow. Very interesting to see the whole stage at different points during the show. Certain songs had their colors. Kashmir red, No Quarter blue… etc. Incredible find!
Omg thanks for this ❤
Great hearing Zeppelin... though video was good ...saw Led Zeppelin at Madison Square Garden in NYC in 75 also...sat in the nose bleed seats, but it was worth it just to see and hear Led Zeppelin...
Unreal!
Incredible!!
Magick ~*
Great work Speedy. You done a darned good job of framing this up. The best audience filming I've ever seen. Remarkable that there was some shots of the staging before the show. That was fascinating.
And great job to LedZepFilms as always. Pretty great to be able to sync up audio to some of these shots, especially the wide ones that are all washed out.
I find it curious how Jonesy is pretty much in the dark for half the show. I realize that the film isn't light sensitive enough to see what was really going on, but seems like the light guys coulda done a bit more to highlight him at a few points in the show.
Look how the stage is pretty small compared to today's ones .. Great stuff!
