The Division Bell doesn't usually get mentioned when people are talking about their favorite PF albums but I love it. Poles Apart is probably my favorite song on it, but really they're all great imo.

@@jdelaney4158 Yep, that's why I said it's one of my favorites. I can't choose a #1 favorite, but I can choose my least faves, and that always draws some ire, so I don't mention them...except TFC lol.

    High-quality music and a high-class live performance.
    Great reaction!

Peter Frampton -- Do You Feel Like I Do is a must watch because he kills it on the Talk Box.

Nothing David Gilmour does when he plays he guitar is wasted... It's all relevant... it's all emotional... it's all taking you to another place. His guitar playing is the definition of trippy... ON SO MANY LEVELS... Keep on Rocking man.

This is what makes Gilmour GOD Tier! No one is even in the same galaxy as him. He just elevated the talk box to a level that no one can touch

The talk box works by directing the sound from the guitar into your mouth via a tube. You articulate the sound using your mouth which is then picked up by the microphone. It's a pretty cool piece of kit!

“For Millions of years mankind lived just like the animals, until something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination, we learned to talk” - Opening line in “Keep Talking” - Pink Floyd. I consider it one of the all time greatest songs ever written.
“It doesn’t have to be like this, all we need to do is keep talking”- “Keep Talking”- Pink Floyd

You were asking about the vocoda/talk box.
In simple terms this is how it works. There's a box on the floor at the bottom of the mic stand. in that box is a small speaker. When a foot switch is pressed it diverts the sound of the guitar to that speaker. The sound then travels up a plastic hose attached to the mic stand and into the mouth where it can be shaped and change by the guitarist. That sound is picked up by the vocal mic and amplified in the usual way. A simple device, but it takes someone to think of the idea in the first place. Not to be confused with the modern version which is added by a computer to a recorded vocal in the same way as auto-tune......no tricks with Floyd.
    You're welcome ✌️❤️🇬🇧

Pulse...One of these days! Listen to it!! 1972, second British rock concert, Germany! Friday night main act, PF, opened with ONE OF THESE DAYS! The lyrics are 'ONE of these days, I'm going to cut you into little pieces!' I think it was a reference to 'Careful with that axe, Eugene. '

I live in Up-State N.Y. Own 30 acres with nobody around. I can play Pink Floyd music with 300 watts and 16 speakers (4-15”) as loud as I want. Hear it a mile away. The animals around my home love P.F. as much as I do.

The Talk Box is so underused. It’s like a combination of vocals, breaths, tied into the guitar as well, it really is an amazing effect. David used it on the Animals album back in the 70s (Dogs I’m thinking?) and I think this the only other song he’s used it on but I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong

His talk box stuff on Animals is some of the most aggressive playing I've ever heard from David. It's one of my favourite albums.

It's hard to hear in the live version versus the album one, but the computer voice that you hear in the background at parts is of the late, great genius Stephen Hawking. Please do us, and yourself, a favor by reacting to "High hopes" from this same Pulse show. Guarantee you'll love it! Thanks again, my friend....

Talk box is a perfect name. if you watch this with the subs on certain parts of his closing solo the subs say "foreign" which its interpreting it as talking but cant understand what language it is

I don't think any Rock guitarist plays with the emotion that David Gilmour does!
He plays lead guitar, he plays rhythm guitar, and he sings too!

Unfortunately this song means way more than people realize specially if you watch the real video that gave this song the Tru meaning it stood for and that is why Keep Talking is one of my most meaningful favorite Songs ever and from Pink Floyd and it all started from what makes this more meaningful than ever in these uncertain times we live in now where at any more moment it can turn into a gobal catastrophe quickly and change are way of life again like in 2020 so this Stephen Hawking famous Commercial in the 90s that started it all for David Gilmour for this Legendary Song and Most Powerful meaning behind it saying as long as Mankind keeps communicating the human race still has a chance to turn it around no matter how close we get to another catastrophic global disaster.
Because unfortunately history keeps repeating itself and we never learn from the past until its to late because just like some of my family who faught in WW2 so this never happens again and that's why they now see all the ingredients are again like it was in 1937 only with hypersonic nukes and way more powerful and devastating warfare weapons on terrifying scale never thought possible making even Threads the Legendary most scariest and disturbing movie of all time look like Child's play unfortunately

Unfortunately brother you are old enough to understand this just like me but this song means way more than people realize it really means communication for the human race to not stop talking or there will be another World War if we keep up the track we're heading with blinders on the recipe for catastrophe is there on all levels now and so does my WW2 veteran family members that are still left think to
It's like one my favorite songs Folks Keep Talking from my favorite bands Pink Floyd when Stephen Hawking did his famous Commercial in the 90s saying as long as Mankind keeps communicating the human race still has a chance to turn it around no matter how close we get to another catastrophic global disaster like now we face in 2023 like some of my family who faught in WW2 so this never happens again unfortunately they now see all the ingredients are again like it was in 1937 only with hypersonic nukes and way more powerful and devastating warfare weapons on terrifying scale never thought possible it's almost incomprehensible to the mass destruction this will cause you think the most disturbing and scary movie in history threads about a nuclear Holocaust with the most realistic ending in movie history about really what will happen to are human race in end
Which is not being able to reproduce because of radiation wasteland on a apocalyptic scale that even surpasses another great WW3 ending movie on the Beach made in the 1950s where Australia was the last country standing waiting for the end of are existence again either way you look at it people like this song represents we need to keep talking or else

Super reaction as always! I like to see peoples feeling the music! Like other guys said here, bro, you have to listen to Peter Frampton, the King of the talk box! The only one, who's, really, talking! You can recongnize, what is saying! But, don't listen to a bad version! For me, the best version, is "DO YOU FEEL", live at San Fransisco 1975! I have it on vinyl! It's fantastic! His band is great! He's literaly talking to the audience with his guitar, and the audience, becomes crazy! I'm sure, other guys, will tell you to listen to the same concert! Peace from France, bro😅✌️PS: i didn't said anything about that performance, because, PULSE, is the perfection! Nothing to say anymore!

Pink Floyd do EXPERIENCES not concerts. saw them 7 times. People sit and WATCH/LISTEN to them, except " Run Like Hell" where people stand up.P.F. ARE NOT rock& roll, Jazz, country, rap, symphony. or anything else.
