In every generation there are one or two musicians/bands that become timeless and live on forever while all the others from the same Era are lost to time. It is my belief that in 300 years people will still listen to Pink Floyd the way people listen to Beethoven, Bach, Mozart today. They are just on a level that no other band out today can come close to.
@SaeedReacts. to get technical it is an effects peddle the loops the sound of the guitar, through the tube into the mouth, then you alter the sound by changing the shape of your mouth this is the captured by the mic and routed to the amps, you can mimic this by putting your phones speaker part really close to your mouth play some music and start changing the shape of your mouth, of course it is not as effective as the real thing but you get the idea.
@@simply_psi Actually it takes the speaker out of the amp and runs the sound to the tube part of the sounds goes to the mic and part goes out to another speaker.
Here is the definition of the word "classic" given by the Italian writer Italo Calvino: "A classic is a work that has never finished saying what it has to say".
Every light and special effect was created to hit everyone in the audience and turn the volume up on their emotions. David Gilmour is on God Level with every type of guitar, and with the talk box. Everything he touches is magic.
Oh, man, I love everything about this concert. Sorrow and One of These Days are bangers, and Great Gig in the Sky makes me cry every time, no matter how many times I listen to/watch it. From PF's Delicate Sound of Thunder concert check out On the Turning Away and Dogs of War. I'm enjoying your reactions. It's hard to describe the kinds of feelings Pink Floyd evokes, but those of us who know get it. This is some high vibrational, crown chakra stuff. 😃🤘🏽💗
Your going to love all Pink Floyd’s songs , they are so great! David Gilmour is a guitar master 😊. Can’t wait for your reaction to Sorrow and High Hopes.
Architects draw a plan of, let's say, a cathedral or a dome, and the craftsmen need decades to build it. And often the workers couldn't see what they were doing until the work was finished. The members of Pink Floyd are all architects. That's how they made music. With vision and passion. With the ability to sketch, communicate, listen, collaborate. They need to have technical skills and a problem-solving mind. With an eye for design and decorum. They have done outstanding work. I'm a Floyd fan for over 50 years, and I still haven't heard enough of their music.
Pink floyd are all about communication through their lyrics and their music I regard them to be a beacon of musical excellence very intelligent and supremely talented I've been a fan for over fifty odd years and still can't get enough of their incredible music the only down side is unfortunately we all get older and nothing lasts for ever so I'm determined to cram as much of pink floyd and loads of all kinds of music into my memory sheer enjoyment and inner peace and of course a sense of understanding does that make sense loved your reaction to for me the masters of progressive sycadelic rock pink floyd enjoy this fabulous musical journey that you have undertaken it's wonderful
well done on another great pink floyd reaction, im glad that your enjoying your pink floyd journey, id recommend that you stick with the pulse concert and try "TIME" or "HIGH HOPES" and if you want to hear those backing singers really shine then its a must that you try "GREAT GIG IN THE SKY", it will blow your mind
There are very few people who don't feel Pink Floyd in their souls when they give it a chance. Those people tend to come in two camps-- young people who are so used to short concise tracks, TikTok, short attention span. And people who are uncomfortable hearing this music because it does speak to their soul and they don't like feeling that. Those people eventually come around (my wife was one of them, the heartbeat that opens Dark Side of the Moon made her nervous initially). The short attention span people probably never will, maybe when they're older. Everyone else, gender, race, nationality... there is no "type" that enjoy this music. Just anyone who is able to feel and wants to feel will connect with it. There is some symbolism in this, "Keep Talking", are we only talking words and language? Or "talking" through other means, as David's talk box suggests, communication doesn't always have to be through words. We can connect in other ways.
Loving your reactions keep it up and enjoy your journey into Pink Floyd its an experience! One recommendation is do the Dark Side Of The Moon album when possible
What's amazing about Pink Floyd is outside of a few songs from DSOTM they got very little radio play. Cause they don'y have 4 beat 4 minute dance music or rock & Roll. yet they are #2 selling around the world in sells. DSOTM on the charts for 943 wks. People usually heard them from being over at some house sitting and listening to the music.
For sound and vision from Pulse, I recommend Sorrow, Run Like Hell, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Learning to Fly, High Hopes, Wish You Were Here, Coming Back to Life, One of These Days, etc… in no particular order as they’ll all become your new favourite. Enjoy mate.
Thanks for reacting to this track. I did see them on the Pulse tour, and it was stunning, but I had forgotten about this particular piece, and how awesome it is.
Great reaction to one of my favorite songs from the Pulse concert! I just love the groove throughout and you are right on the money with the theme. (Also, most reactors don't realize that Stephen Hawking is the voiceover in this song). I find the use of the talk box interesting; I usually think of it as a sort of raunchy addition to a song (think Joe Walsh or Bon Jovi). In "Keeping Talking', David Gilmour makes the talk box sound plaintive. :) For future reactions, I suggest 'Sorrow' from this same Pulse concert, or a song from the previous tour (A Delicate Sound of Thunder, 1988) called 'On the Turning Away').
Many younger people probably consider DVD's "old tech", but having a physical copy of this remarkable concert has the same effect on me as holding a treasured book and knowing the timeless nature of the wonderful story that is held within. The term "majesty" doesn't cross my lips too often, but it comes to mind every time I listen to this performance. "High Hopes" is another favorite, but every song here is iconic.
Oh I had an afterthought if you can get hold of it listen and watch pink floyd at the gdansk concert playing echoes it will most definitely blow you away a friendly word of advice listen to it two or maybe three times to fully digest it enjoy
I would recommend a few for your next one: From the same Pulse concert and same era, High Hopes is stellar. Would suggest album versions first for the following songs: Mother Wish You Wete Here Money Then from Dark Side of the Moom album. I would pair up two songs that have no break between them anyway: Time + Great Gig in the Sky That last pairing would be incredible...
The album "The Division Bell", is largely about communication, or rather the lack of communication. The Division Bell is the name of a bell that rings at the Palace of Westminster, Houses of Parliament (London, UK). The bell indicates to parliamentarians that the debates will resume, or that these debates are coming to an end, that it's time to move on to the final vote. Mankind’s greatest achievements have come about by talking. But its greatest failures by not talking. As when we look at what is happening in Ukraine and Gaza, “It doesn’t have to be like this”. To prevent such horrors from happening again and again, “All we need to do is make sure we keep talking.”
One of my favourite songs from PF 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥 As a person who loves lyrics that tell a story, try "Time". The version from The Pulse concert is okay but you should hear the album version first. There is a good one with subtitles 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Very underrated song. For something different check out David Gilmour's Live at Pompeii from 2016 - and give In Any Tongue or Faces Of Stone a try. You won't be disappointed. Sorrow and High Hopes from the same show are also great.
In a way, history is only around as long as the oldest generation except if we keep it alive by communicating in stories, songs and books. Just a thought.
Understanding the meaning of their lyrics is complicated. I see a lot of reactions to their songs just to see if people understand the meaning and you're the first one who understands it.
Got a genuine question. In the UK we call them "backing" singers because they provide backing vocals. In the US you call them "backup" singers when someone or something is a backup it's normally referring to something that's on standby Incase something goes wrong with the main thing. So my question is, why do you call them backup singers?
@@SaeedReacts. your American English is flawless. By the way, you should definitely check out "the great gig in the sky" from the pulse concert. This is where the "backing vocalists are let loose and take the lead, with NO lyrics. It will blow your mind dude.

100 percent for sure! And I'm 69 and seen them all no comparison live!
The vocal effect is talkbox. The sound of the guitar is played through the tube into David’s mouth and then picked up again by his vocal mike.
