    I always try to fish a creek when it has a little color. Catch a lot more when you are wading or bank fishing.But as Richard Gene says go fishing when you can because it’s good for you.

    It's amazing how much I've changed over the years. From only live bait. To only mepps spinners. To only rApala original floaters to spinnerbaits then bring obsessed with lipless cranks . Googan ...now I'm on yum and booyah love jigs and the melee boo jigs...

    Great video John, sometimes the fish just haven’t kicked into gear. Good job sticking it out. The underwater shots were REALLY cool! That creek looked really good, when you put camera in the water those fish looked like small mouth, at least you were able to catch a few for that amount of walking, that lake you were at those fish wanted a moving bait, you probably could have used a frog or a whopper plopper! @michaellarkins6983 ปีที่แล้ว

    Man I had the same thing happen. I tried the hellgrammites in deep pools at the end of runs. I tried a ned craw, a spinnerbait, a swim bait. Nothing worked. But I threw a wee rebel craw in a red type color through a ripping current and there they were. I justed started fishing for smallmouth. This was my 3rd ever, it was 19 inches and just over 3 pounds. Also caught a 1.5 pound one today.

    Way to grind it out brother. I would agree with downsizing too. It certainly is that tough transition and we use rock bass as the barometer for fish activity. If they're not biting the smaller lures it's a grind trip for sure. Appreciate your explanations on what type of spots you were looking for in the creek to target. Blessings John

    The missed strike @14:00 honestly looks to me more like a trout than anything else. Could even be a catfish. Doesn't look like a musky based on the shape. And it doesn't quite look like a bass based on the color, though it could be a pale one.

    In another month to two months there will be way more bass there. That first fish he got definitely had to be a hybrid bc a spots mouth is not that big. If there are muskys in that lake that's sorta what it looked like to me.

  • @ExplorishingAdventures
    @ExplorishingAdventures ปีที่แล้ว

    If I could frame through on that last fish I think I could ID it. But it looked almost most like a Grass Carp or Buffalo. At first I thought maybe Musky but the head shape isn’t right.

    • @kericbrooks4214
      @kericbrooks4214 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Grass carp is a good call, dunno if they have bowfin or snakehead in that lake but that seems like a possibility as well. My first thought was a sturgeon but I don’t know if they are as common back East as they are here on the west coast, the thrashing is what made me think sturgeon, also the tail almost looks forked in the last frame that it’s above the water, it’s not really clear enough to say for sure though, heck in one frame it looks like a stingray jumping but I sure hope those aren’t around

    • @ExplorishingAdventures
      @ExplorishingAdventures ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kericbrooks4214 Yeah, I think the odds of it being a stingray in Tennessee is pretty slim.
