The fact that you don’t share exact spots is actually a sign of respect for the world and I think you’ll find most fishermen will appreciate it.
I posted a pic of a pike once on FB that was a giant - didn’t even say where it came from, but this was back in the day when location was on in the photos but hidden and not obvious when you posted.
I went to the same spot like a week later and these three yahoos had 13 pike between 30 and 40 inches on a stringer - all legal and within their limit, but still…
They were like “yeah saw your picture so we figured we’d try it out” yuk yuk yuk
That was YEARS ago and that spot still hasn’t produced the caliber fish it used to since….

Yes that is correct...a good fisherman never reveals his honey holes. I can't put in all the work to find a hole just to put someone else right on it. I don't even like telling my baits.

The same goes for hunting, loose lips can ruin a good public land spot. And I quit taking friends and even family to my private leases and private places I have permission unless they are offering to return the favor. I put several of my uncle's on their first bucks, got them into hunting, and never got an invite to their places.

I don't blame you for not telling what body of water your fishing, it's no different than bass pros not wanting to show where they are at, you did the work to find it , let whoever do it for themselves, needed this video this morning with all the depressing things going on in world & here in my world, great video as always! 👍🎣

I think part of the fun is getting out by yourself and finding great spots. I’m always hesitant to share spots unless I know someone…partly because people are so bad about leaving trash behind and I hate that. We’re blessed with so many beautiful bodies of water here in the SouthEast. Shouldn’t be too difficult for people to find fishing spots if they are willing to put the effort in. Great catches, John! Love this Fall fishing action.

I appreciate you for not divulging your fishing spots. You put in the research & footwork to find those spots, its your prerogative to keep that information to yourself. As viewers we need to motivate ourselves to do likewise and find our own productive fishing spots. Its not just about acquiring the tackle & gear, we also have to put in the work needed to find where the fish are; that's also part of sport too. After all, catching fish is as much 'a hunt' as going after land animals like waterfowl and deer with hunting dogs, a rifle, or a bow/arrow. Love your videos BTW, keep 'em coming.

Please John do not give up your spots! First of all it’s your livelihood- protect your ability to keep making the content we love and pays (some) of your bills- I’m sure it’s as lucrative as everyone assumes. Second- most of the spots you go to seem to have very little trash, apparently there’s a giant group of humans who think their rights include ruining nature for everyone else- I never will understand what goes through the mind of someone breaking bottles in water or dropping cases of empties all over the riverbanks never mind all the empty worm and lure packages. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication and keep the incredible content coming!

Hey man don't worry about sharing the exact spots you're fishing. All fisherman should know not to take offense that someone won't share their spots.. I'm from east TN and recognize a ton of the places you fish but never comment the location because.. well.. I did all the work to find those spots on my own, and clearly you have too or you wouldn't be in some of those spots. People think knowledge of good fishing holes is just a casually traded thing. They are not! To fishermen, those places are our temples. Hard to enjoy a beautiful spot if there's 50 other people there and trash all around.

    • @mikeboyce584
      @mikeboyce584 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Comments like that are just unnecessary. People just ought to respect the work that John puts in. I agree sharing Info about the spots he fishes is not his job. But sharing the word of God comes naturally to John. And that's why his content is so important. And quite frankly he takes us to places we probably couldn't get to ourselves. And I say to him, John, just keep up the fantastic what you're doing. You're never gonna lose this fan.

you have been hitting a few places where there are just more solid fish - it is another level of creek fishing - basically the same thing just more and bigger fish - the fish are always in the fast water imo - that is where the food is/more o2 but it may vary on time of day also? you just have to fish everywhere and find out what the pattern of the day is for that particular place - try the snake lure for the giants - it really does work - could be a good lure to start making and selling - try em all. think about fall sw blitz and also fish migrating - i think fall is not as good as spring but everything is moving this time of year - do some tournament tuneups on big impoundments down south as things cool off - you should think about just going pro kayak bass fishing but only fish like 6-10 tourneys a year if that is possible - you don't want the pro grind, you want the best of all worlds

It’s NOT the fact that you don’t want to divulge the location that bothers me. It’s really THE WAY you said it that I have a problem with.
It sounded arrogant, snippy, petty, etc. I kinda expected a better tone coming from you, seeing as how it is the viewers who keep you afloat.

These small streams are very fragile fisheries. Large numbers of people descending on them could seriously damage them. Also, a percentage of the people who show up are slobs who leave their trash all over the place and do serious damage.

you don't need to share your location. people can do their own work to have an adventure and find fishing spots....I will gladly share mine....but nobody will come...almost all them require paddling upstream for 2-4 miles into the middle of nowhere....not many takers. I did the same thing as you yesterday...took me a couple hours to find out they wanted bottom crawling plastic...but it had to have red in it....nothing else generated a bite...but red plastic on the bottom...they were all over it.

In my opinion you are doing what's right by not sharing the creek location. On the small bodies of water many of the local anglers will come after you when you share the location. Not so much on those larger bodies of water as they can take greater fishing pressure.

The other fish were mad, they wanted the hook so they could get on TH-cam, what fish wouldn't want to be seen on your channel?

I fully respect that you don’t share your locations. If you tell your location everybody and their dog will be there and ruin it. Keep it to yourself. Appreciate the Bible verses as much as watching you fish and learning new stuff.

You tell one or two people about a good spot, next thing you know the fish are gone and your hip to hip with other jamokes.

I don't like telling people where I fish. I put in the work to find these places.

The same people who will complain about their favorite spot getting too much pressure will complain about you not telling 100,000 viewers where you were fishing.
