Love the content! Just got back into fishing after 10+ years, enjoying your videos and all of the googan squad content. I'm in NE ohio, so plenty of inspiration here.
Parker should have throwne his rod+ reel in the pond when he lost those ones. That last one parker caught was epick though. Great job guys. Its all about the good times. Stay safe. Cheers guys. 😊
Fished a stunted pond as a kid, the old guy would come out and yell no fishing! He had no clue fish need to come out of a pond to allow growth! We’d go and catch 30 small bass each in an hour! We began to bring a bucket and pull fish out n move them to other ponds. 😂😂😂. He’d always catch us at some point. He house was like 300 yards from the pond so he could never catch us. 😂😂😂
Frog is every fisherman’s favorite bait but the problem is most ponds in my area are super pressured. Yesterday I collected 3 expensive frogs from just one tree lol. But the most used bait of all on these ponds is the texas rigged senko, dozens of them in the trees. I usually opt for something different in these pressured ponds, mostly weightless creature baits. Great video 1rod
yea, I kinda view other angler's lures like a school of baitfish.... want my lure to stand out and be the one the big girl eats. I try new things - specially with youtube, nowadays there's a handful of techniques most bass anglers rely on
Fish a pressured, snake infested pond, tried a frog and felt like the fish were going wth is that freaky thing. Lots of minnows and bream so I use that knowledge for top water minnow or a 3" bream lure. Fish are smart though, once used it doesn't seem to work anymore. Any suggestions would be helpful.
@@bensenat I would recommend anything weightless, the slow fall of a weightless bait is just to natural for them to turn down. I usually go with a craw or a creature bait and just a simple texas rig. Also try casting into the spots that nobody else has the balls to lol.
@@randymcnaughton4318 I've used a bream lure from Walmart, worked better than expected but it's heavy. Swims really good though even when dropping it looks very natural. A top water minnow which worked quite well also. Yesterday just for kicks tried a jig with spoon, surprisingly caught one. Seems the fish learn real quick to not bite any of them again. Maybe in a month they'll forget, seems I have to introduce something new each time. Tried a weightless lizard and nothing happened also a couple different worms. One day I'll be getting the bandito bug, some reason I feel good about it. The fish seem to prefer top water though, at least the small ones do. Thanks for the reply, I'll keep trying until fat fish sings.
I've had other BPM baits th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 before and they've pretty much always came through for me with the suskie smallies here and even with the walleye and pike, but I realized I didn't have an "in-between" pattern so this junebug one fills that role in no problem. it pairs up magnificently with a junebug Zoom Z-craw Jr that was trimmed a couple millimeters before the hook slots and rigged sideways for that fatter panfish side profile while still being a nice'n'compact presentation, a real power-finesse bait. Hell, it was so pretty I even bothered to fotosketch the pic into a watercolor painting image just to show you it's beauty! Even the blades are really well made, sure, they're not of Hildebrandt-level exquisiteness but look at the bead's reflection on the colorado blade, definitely well-made! The only "problem" spot it had was a bald spot in the skirt but it was nothing that I couldn't easily fix with a but of tuggin'n'shiftin' with the strands for a couple of seconds, besides that it is pretty minty!
Meeting up with an old friend to do the challenge was great. Love the old friend vibes. I fish in Ohio sometimes. People on that message board can be intense!
Do you do anything to try and prevent ticks with the tall grass? I’ve found a couple places locally, but the grass is so tall and dense it worried me a bit.
Get some under armour type pants to wear under shorts and a thin long sleeved shirt. That's what I do but mostly to prevent poison Ivey because it kills me every time. Never had a tick problem though.
There is a tick spray but ussualy light clothing can prevent any ticks from gojng further up because you can spot them . I always shower and wash my hair with shampoo right after fishing to wash away potential holders
Only things I use in the summer. Early mornings or late afternoons working the frog, and slowly moving a senko thru open pockets near lily pads mid day. Ponds near me are almost covered in pads its my only options. From long island
@@1Rod1ReelFishing I have 3 year old crankbaits, chatter baits, blade baits, jerks that i've never used cause its too cold to fish jan-march and bass fishing is banned in april for spawning so by may its already matted!

That pattern and color of Senko that Parker was using ,has caught me so many big smallies . You had a tough challenge on this one Mike.

What knot you use to connect your braid to leader?
ALWAYS the Alberto knot, just 4 twists up, and 4 twists down as opposed to the recommended 7
Man fished with top water vs a senko and came so close to winning. Goated 🐐
A literal buzzer beater
Can’t believe I lost this one tbh…
The weight of a mechanical pencil!😂

what knot do you use to tie on your lures/hooks?
Palomar or improved clinch knot mostly
I’ve had huge success fishing those creeks…Especially with the main part of the pond meets the creek

Location ? I’m in Ohio
is there a reason for using a frog instead of a spook with treble? I think you'd land them more often
