I can't believe a revival of the original show has actually happened!! I was there, 3,000 years...er, I mean, 16 years ago, watching in the West End!
Was so glad I came from the US for this, and glad I splurged to see it twice in one weekend. Please, please, please release a CD of the music for purchase!!!
Same!! Where can we buy the DVD? :D
There is an amazing album of the original show (lord of the rings the musical) with much of the same music
Oh my god, hearing the "Shine forever" made me cry lol. I never got to see the original production but have been obsessed with the music and videos for years and years. That gave me such chills to hear and see it reinvented.
It was EPIC! Loved watching this at the Watermill Theatre. How they managed such an ambitious play in a small setting without comprising on the acting, choreography and music is outstanding. My favourite theatre experience to date. It isn't everyday you see Gollum playing the fiddle!!!
I would do absolutely anything for this to go on tour or even just come back, would love to watch this piece of artistry
Please take this on TOUR!!!!!
An absoltely increadible show in such a wonderful location, spellbound by every minute!!! Everyone in the cast was amazing!
Absolutely loved this production! Having seen it on the west end multiple times, this filled me with joy and nostalgia and the smile never left my face throughout. Having it between the intimate stage and the gardens was a master-stroke, and really felt like you were at the Shire. Can't praise it enough. 👏🧡
I just saw this for my daughters birthday. It was excellent!!! Such talent and truly amazing
so! much! love! 💖💖💖
I’d love to see this! ❤
A brilliant production!
Ahh just saw this and the memories of the performance are flooding back, truly and epic production. I am not sure how many others knew about it for the same reason I did but thank you @Takanashi Kiara Ch for bringing it to my attention back then
This musical does the books justice EVEN MORE THAN THE MOVIES somehow, it's so true to the books it's amazing, you can tell the passion that went into this
I'm so glad we were able to travel down and see this show, the cast, staging, venue, everything, was just so perfect and so special 🖤
How am I only just finding out this exists?!
im mad i havent heard about the revival! This looks amazing!
Please tell me the full thing was filmed! I live in the US and wasn't able to see this because I'm poor. It'd be amazing to catch it here in the US whether recorded or live!
Coming to Chicago!
I'm so glad to see this in the states finally! I've always wanted to see this!!
❤️
Superb experience.
I rewatch this video every few days when it pops up in my youtube feed and it always makes me wish to be back in your version of the shire
seeing this show was a dream come true and I'm so glad to have these 90 seconds of footage to remember it by
The most memorable performance I've ever seen. Absolutely superb!
loved this show so so much, hope its popularity leads to a revival elsewhere!
Magical!
One of my favorite theater experiences ever
I wish I could have seen this! Unfortunately I live in America. I wish English-language theater could take some cues from European and Asian theater and release blu-rays of their shows so more people could see them!
I cant get there to see this and i need it!!! I would pay so much to be able to rent it!!!!
THEY REALLY DID A LORD OF THE RINGS MUSICAL I IMAGINED IT READING THE BOOK AND PEOPLE DID IT THE WORLD IS GOOD
It is great music
Im hoping it comes back next year!!!
Revival please!!!
Simply … Unbelievable
oh dear god.
Will there be a audio release for us that can't travel 😅
It would of been so cool to go to it. But I can't
Looks pretty cool. So is it an outside production and that small set is just for the promotion, or does it take place inside and is just really intimate? Looks pretty cool either way, would be cool if it gets brought over to the US eventually.
I didn't see it myself personally, but based on what I've read online it does take place inside eventually (the beginning and the end are outdoors with the indoor part in between).
the first time this was attempted it was very expensive production. wise to scale it down
I loved going and seeing this. Will this be on dvd or something so we can see it again.?
Oh my God! Where can I see this? I love Lord of the Rings and this looks EPIC!
The show has no performances left as they wrapped up in October. I sincerely hope there's a recording of this or that there will be another season next year.
Is it still in theatres??? I would do everything to see this
What in Erü’s name is this?!
Sooooooooo there is a pro shot??
I don't know if I could watch this.
How did they get the rights to this?
Surprisingly, no rights are being held by the Tolkien Foundation regarding musical performances.
@@tonywatermeloni9833 Really? I'm surprised at that. How did you find that out?
I did read a letter from my Tolkien collection in which JRRT responds to a man who wants to make a movie of LOTR but Tolkien refused cuz the guy wanted to change some of the names and didn't want to adhere to T's devotion to language... and this was in the late 50s if I recall.
@@erichetherington9314 Perhaps I am wrong as well. My source is a video that discussed the rights of lord of the rings.
It's been a musical since 2006. The cast recording may still be on YT.
@@HouseTargaryen24601 from the 2006 version in London there is a full cast recording, from the 2023 version there are fan recordings of the first few and last songs and an official version of “Now and for always”
a scaled down version of the show that played London's theatre royal Drury Lane some 15 years ago...I sat through half of that massive production untill the sets failed to move and Gandalf had to be evacuated manually from his platform...a valiant effort it was but these books are just too expansive for a 3 hour show..frankly it and its music bored me senseless...but maybe this present production has found a way to do it...who knows
God this looks awful
Many of the songs are quite good.
This is a very scaled down version of the original staging.
I can't look at this and not laugh at it. I won't say anything about music, but it's funny to look at this nonsense.
