    The reason why it only happens when the car has sat in the sun for a few hours is because the air in the car heats up. All that button does is engage a fan in the seat to blow the cabin air through the seat. Therefore if the cabin is hot, hot air will get blown at your back.
    The trick is a combination of a few things. Run the car with the A/C fully cranked and windows cracked for a min or 2 to cool the car then jump on. You can also buy the vent extenders that divert the rear passenger foot vent towards the underside of your seat, thus blowing cold A/C to the fan.
    This is what I have seen be the most effective solution and makes the most sense to me at least.

      Although I sold the car since, I believe you are correct. Poor design IMO. You only want a cooled seat when it’s hot. This legitimately warms them in the environment. Ford of all things does it better, they are actually cooled. On a Lexus, I expected more. They aren’t the only ones though. Most are just ventilated not cooled.

      Do you have a link or the info on where to order the vent extenders?

    I’m having a problem with my Lexus Nx cooled seats. Only like a little part of the seat cools and the rest doesn’t seem to cool, although I can hear the fan at max inside the seat, I don’t know what’s going on, does anybody know a solution?

    Same with my 19 is350, even when I cool the cabin down the seats continue to blow extremely hot heat like if the heater was on.

      Same thing happens in my 2020 is300 very frustrating. The extenders do work but it seems like only for your legs the back of the seat is still blowing hot air even if you have the ac on for a while.

    Mine does the exact same thing.
    Lexus 2016 200t sport.
    Had the car a week. I took it to the service and explained and they tested and said all is working as normal.

      Soccer Sense: It’s BS and expect more from Toyota. Although liked the IS350 quite a bit, I traded it in last week. So I now have a GT in front of my 350 instead of IS. Speeding tickets are my biggest problem now...

      NSX Guy I read somewhere else that someone said to take the fuse out for the heated seat for time being to see if that helps. I may try that tomorrow. The service manager asked me questions like “do you sit on it after it’s been in the sun” like I was retarded. Sucks that it happens but at least I know it isn’t just me

    I have exact same problem on my GX460, the bottom seat was cool but my back get so hot, i'm still trying to find out what the problem since this the first summer for my car.

      Quang Le: One day I will get motivated and pull the seat cover off. It will probably be a pain to do so however. I just don’t use it when it’s real hot (sadly).

    2010 is250C got the same issue! It was 85F this afternoon and vented seat make my seat lower back area hot, I tried it tonight, outside is 65F, it is still happening.

    Did you find a solution for this issue ?

    • @MikeNSX
      @MikeNSX  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I never did. I suspect the air is sourced from and area that happens to be hot.

  • @familyden4640
    @familyden4640 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why your A/C mode is not set to blowing your feet? That's not how ventilated seats are supposed to work. The cool air blowers are under the seats.

    • @MikeNSX
      @MikeNSX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t understand your comment. The car has a ventilated seat button. That what we are talking about.

      @@familyden4640 I follow you on the AC controls but the button is independent. If it had to be both I presume the car would handle that automatically when you press the button. All that said, UNFORTUNATELY I sold the car before I got to a solution.

    • @MikeNSX
      @MikeNSX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never did. Dealer wasn’t much help. I think it’s related to the car being hot and blower air over a hot area. All speculation though. Only seemed to happen when the car it self was hot…right when you need it cool.
