"How to sh*t in the woods" by Kathleen Meyer is a great read. " Have Toilet Roll, Will Travel", carrying your roll on your pack . Got a "luggable loo" on sale one day. Used to keep it in the car as my wife had problems.. Spagnum or peat moss to put in the bag will absorb liquid and let you go more than once in a bag. Thank you for the how-to, Tim. Stay safe and stay cool
It is feasible to carry a five gallon bucket 2 or 3 miles into the woods. You can carry all the rest of your other stuff in the five gallon bucket. If I was in a semi-permanent camping site, I would cut the bottom of the five gallon bucket out.. I would dig a hole and put the bucket on top of it. I would put my toilet paper in the hole as well. When I was done, move the bucket, fill in the hole and everything goes back to mother earth. You could also put clumping kitty litter in the bottom and dispose of it that way. When you get done, put the lid on it and wahla....no smell.
Wonderful visual demonstrations, funny. Trucker & SUV nomadder here; & for 10 yrs I've used a 2 gal plastic pale with a lid for my cheap toilet setup. Camco RV toilet treatment to 86 odor. Most people have enough natural padding on their hindends, so the foam edge thing is unnecessary in my book, especially on a smaller 2 gal pale. ***For women I recommend not even using bags, go right in the pale & then dispose of properly. Rinse if needed, then add a splash of the Camco to knock out smells. Why? Women usually do both 1 & 2's when doing a #2. This is messier to handle & dispose of in a plastic bag,..trust me!! Save yourself the mess & the environment, forget plastic bags. Oh, & put used toilet paper in the trash, not in the pale. 🧻🪣 Hope this helps folks who're on the GO! Safe & Happy travels to all. 10/4, overNout.
I made one without the foam ring, it hurts my butt, I am going to spend 1.25 and buy a pool noodle from dollar tree and attach it to the rim. Maybe a pipe foam insulation from Home Depot which is thicker.
Pool noodle or pipe wrap - voila! Solves the problem. Have 2-gallon bucket which is fine but none of the portable seats fit it. Slit a pool noodle - genius!
OMGosh darnit!!! I REALLY LOVED YOUR IDEA ON how to make a OUT side camping toilet. What a simple but great idea i will be making me one thanks for sharing.
Greyt tips on this necessary topic my friend! You really made me chuckle this morning Tim. That demonstration tho! 🤣 As Xander's servant I'm most familiar with toting around bagged 💩 🙄 👍 ~ Kristine
I always look for a spot with 1-2 inch diameter young saplings nearby so I can grab hold of something when the going gets tough. But hey, that's just me.
Thanks for the tips and advice. I am wondering though, especially in a case of an emergency and youre trying to make your own toilet this way, how do you dispose of "the waste"?
@thecreativeoutdoorsman981 in an emergency, say our family is trapped with no power and we're trying to figure out how to go to the toilet, we can make something like this but then our yard is so small, do we just bury it in the ground? Which wouldn't be ideal with a small backyard where we'd be eating and living with small children running around. Anyway not your problem just thought I'd mention. There's another step here that I'm still trying to figure out. Cheers
I REALLY appreciate appreciate visual! It shows that it actually works! Thanks for baring all! 😆
Thanks for watching
Yeah WOOOOW I just made me 2. My septic tank just messed up. I used a protable toilet seat cover and pine pellets. Man thank you good Idea.
Great job thanks for watching
pretty clever!! I will need to make one when I go camping without the bells and whistles.
Thanks for watching

Thank you for these great ideas.
I am wondering about the bag of $hit.
How do you dispose it in rhe wood where no trash nearby!!?
I like the concept of pipe insulation. I have used the bucket system before but always brought an old toilet seat. Doesn't pack very well. Thanks!
👍🏼 gotta have one especially if you have only one bathroom and more than 2 people living in the house. Will be making one soon. 😂
Thanks for watching
Absolutely brilliant thank you for sharing
There is nothing like a visual to learn more about your product. Love it!
The demo part was quite interesting
Very informative video. And strikingly appealing visual effects.

I used similar to this.
I had cut the bottom of the bucket out and left the mess there.
I was on my own acreage and 200 feet from a water source.
Perfect
Ugh...that bucket would get nasty on the inside😅
Brilliant. Thank you.

You can also just buy a toilet seat with a lid that is designed to fit over a bucket.
I am drinking coffee and just used Coffee Mate. I am at home though. I didn't know my creamer had so much other use.

This. Is nothing new. Been doing this for years. Only difference is. Cutting a hole a piece of wood or over the bucket lid then toss the whole thing.
