In my area (east coast Florida) the empty 1-lb cylinders are considered hazardous waste, as well. You can't put them in your household trash or recycling at the curb. Closest disposal location is the county municiple landfill 15 miles away and only open when I'm at work. Because I do take my grill various locations for tailgates, cookouts, picnics, etc. (Aka "transporting") I've been dragging a 20lb along, but I see they have refillable 1-lb available, now... unfortunately proprietary adapters

Thank you, sir! 🤗 This is great information ! ✔️ Also, when my food expires, I take it back to the store where I bought it and tell them it's expired and they allow me to exchange the items for new ones (the exact same items, of course). Lol - but now I will just keep them stored away for emergencies. ❤️

The sticker shock is nut on other mod's. Here is something else - as a Vet, you get 10% off - We checked with the desk today - 9-5-24. It's a little wide for my trailer so I'm selling the old to get a bigger one. Thanks for the review.

Ate C rations in Nam in 1968 canned in late 1940s. Didn’t taste all that good, but dad said they didn’t taste all that good in 1943 when he was on Guadalcanal, either. If they don’t smell bad, they are good enough.

Ive eaten canned goods years after the date with no problems. Ill even eat refridgerated items months, sometimes a year or more, after the date. You can smell, taste, or see if food is turning. Most foods are packed with so much preservative these days. Even accidentally leaving refrigerated food out overnight doesnt spoil it. Those companies definitely want to scare people into throwing stuff away to sell more

I definitely agree with you but it's safer to purchase the one's that are meant to be refilled verses those Walmart coalman one timers!!! Flame 🔥 king and now fuel keg makes some nice ones!!! I'm thinking 🤔 ill have to check out the later manufacturer since they've added a bleed off valve!!!

Um. Are you a typical red neck idiot! It says right on there "NON REFILLABLE" Now what do you think that means you dumbass? Clarify yourself. That means it's not illegal to refill them. Just stupid! You are playing a very dangerous game of Russian roulette, in that not only are you taking a risk in refilling these, you are taking an even bigger liability risk by promoting it on here! You do realise, that some idiot like you could watch your video, refill their cylinder, have it explode, and then come after you because YOU said it was ok to do so, and showed them how! God you Americans are arrogant idiots

I keep having this idea on the pull top cans. Because the pull top is the weak point. Could putting a layer of "food grade" wax over the pull ring allow for even longer storage. Thoughts?

You may not be able to do this because your humidity is so high and your pots might get moldy but my 24” Zeer sits in a terracotta dish and the dish is always filled with water. Evaporative process keeps food in the Zeer cool. I did something different because I was unable to find a inner pot that was lead free (the 24” is a Pennington -lead free) I put a stainless steel stock pot in as my inner pot. It stays cool because although there isn’t an evaporative process, the stainless steel stays cold because it’s wet. I use the lid on it, and there is a terracotta lid on the Pennington covered with a straw mat.

This by far is one of the most accurate ways to do this. This is how they are filled at the factory, basically and no you don't have to use a fridge. FYI a 1# cylinder is designed to hold 1# to the80% volume and a 20# cylinder to hold 20# to the 80% volume. A 20# cylinder should weigh 36-38# (tare 16-18#) You only get 15-16# with an exchange cylinder.

DO NOT DO THIS!!! DO NOT PULL THAT PRESSURE RELEASE VALUE!! I did this because I follow this video and my small 1lb tanks now leaks. I just wasted two pounds of propane filling two tanks. If you want to release air, push in the pin in the center of the tank or put a valve on it and release the air (gas). Again, DO NOT DO THIS!! This not the proper way!!
