If you have any type of construction company and you buy a pick up through the company then obviously its going to be used for work. The fact that they are sitting there in government working out how to tax the hardest working people for the smallest perk of being able to pick up the kids from school once in a while with the work vehicle is sickening!!!!
This has been ruined by people choosing them instead of a company car to get out of paying tax. Pick up sales will fall through the floor from April. Might get a nice bargain in spring though for private use.
Here in New Zealand our previous Labour government introduced what many called the 'ute tax' which targeted pickup trucks (utes). Thankfully our new National government removed this ute tax. Pickup trucks a VERY popular in New Zealand, within our top 10 best-selling passenger vehicles, 4 of them are pickup trucks. The Ford Ranger has been our best-selling vehicle for the last 10 years straight. We love our pickup trucks as much the Americans do.
With Land Rover no longer supporting farmers with the decline of the defender what are farmers going to do now...this is a real dig at the working man..when it snowed I used my hilux to keep my 9 vans on the road...when I'm working on natural trust sites my hilux gets me there....now what .
Nice vid Ollie but please check the tax law on the Raptor V6 pickup as its below the 1tonne tax threshold so the new tax costs don’t apply to this model Raptor spec is the way forward
Sadly this is why anyone that's working class is kicking themselves for having this lot in. That said it's basically taxing over 1tonne double cabs as exactly the same as any other double cab below the threshold. It really does come across as the working class party doesn't want anyone to enjoy working.
I'm thimking about buying a VW Kombi as a personal vehicle (not self employed) but daren't look which tax band its in. Also in general is it even worth buying a diesel now considering "road tax" goes up evey year
Whst about single cab pickups, 2 or 3 seats in side, i think they dont want you to use as a personal car ie 5 seats in it, taken kifs to school holidays camping trips ect, but would be better one car does all, less vehicles on the road 😉
No difference to the guy that has a company car and pays a shed load of tax , if you want to get from a to b then you would get a van? It’s got more space
I understand your trying to sell the idea of a transporter and I get it I own one but your way off the mark . Im a builder/carpenter and also have a 2022 3.2L twin cab ranger for towing plant as it is rated to pull 3.5 tons . You say it can't do anything a transporter can't... well that's the main point of these vehicles so that's a big one . Generally, if you have a pick up it's a heavy tow vehicle , ground works , farmer , tree surgeon etc trades that don't need a large internal load space like a transporter. The easy option is going to be to switch to single cabs if you need the 4x4 capabilities or a transit twin cab flatbed tipper if you don't. Other than that it's going to be the large vans with the 3.5t towing ability like the lwb crafter , sprinter and transit . Although I really don't agree with the new tax as it's clearly ridiculous the reason its been approved is companies using them as pool cars or personal vehicles. The carbon footprint is too large if they are not being used for purpose and obviously a tax dodge when your wife is using them for the school run on a daily basis
You can buy a 3 year old Defender 'Hard Top' commercial with a nice 6 cylinder diesel, 100% corp tax write off, VAT back then go and put rear seats in it and enjoy!
@@garywhapples7172wouldn't buy anything with an ingenium engine though . Landrover haven't used a decent engine since they stopped the freelander 2 sd4/td4 production in 2014 . I get your point though there's ways round it if you really need the vehicles for work . Like a single cab pick up with half doors and fold down rear seats for occasional use
Towing capacity with certain pickup trucks are now even going beyond the traditional 3.5 tonne tow rating. Ford recently announced the Ranger Superduty, which currently has only been confirmed for Australia & here in New Zealand. With a 4.5 tonne towing capacity, 4.5 tonne GVM rating, & an 8 tonne GCM rating, it'll be a great pickup truck for it's targeted market (commercial/trades use). Additionally, Australia & New Zealand also have large V8 powered American pickup trucks available which also offer the 4.5 tonne towing capacity.
This video is a bit misleading. While what he says is true. If you read the notes from the treasury it says that if you have an existing pickup it can be used under the old guidance until 2029. Other news sources say this but this video doesn’t. When he says about selling that ranger its either a sales tactic or this is just a poorly researched video.

They did the same in Ireland. Crashed the entire market for pickup trucks 🛻
Gotta pay for the hotels for illegal immigrants.

Labour haven't been the party of the woring class for decades.... people are generally quite thick when it comes to politics

lol carbon footprint. Check china opening more coal plants. Seems crazy to compare pickups in the grand scheme. Government lies.
